On Saturday, Layla and I headed up to the Nashville Flea Market to check it out. We had both heard good things about it, so I was anxious to see it for myself. We did enjoy it a lot and by far, the best things to be found are outside the buildings.

I have very fond memories of Lakewood Antiques in Atlanta and have been there countless times over the years. Color me sad when that placed closed down a few years ago. I think many of us are still mourning that one. The Nashville flea market has a bit of the same vibe as the old Lakewood market, but it’s not nearly as big.

(Kim, Layla, Rhoda)

As August usually is, it was a hot day at the market and we felt every bit of it. We were there about 3 hours and saw plenty until we couldn’t take the heat any longer. We also met up with our friend, Kim at Twice Remembered Cottage. We had met her earlier this year at the Blissdom conference and she lives in the area. Fun to see her again. So, come on along with us and we’ll show you some junk that we saw. Plenty of good junk too! Loved this mantle/shelf thingie that would be great on the wall.Ahhh, blue shutters that were oh so pretty. In just that perfect shade of turquoise. Browsing with some water on hand. You gotta have water when it’s this hot out.Loved this lantern that might have been made out of reclaimed wood. So pretty, I think it was $50. All these colorful old bottles caught my eye too. I think these were some sort of old grain scoops, maybe. They were really cool looking. Would be great for hanging on the wall to sort things. Layla checking out some vintage stuff. These were candle holders that were pretty cute.

Glass floats. I loved these, but don’t know where in the world I’d put something this big. They were $25 each or 5 for $100, so not that bad. But, they are huge. Cowhide chairs and rugs. Zebra is still making a big showing. Some old fans waiting to be taken home. Farmhouse table. These sure are popular now. A painted and distressed table and chairs that were already sold, I thought this set was very pretty. These old seltzer bottles are always pretty to me, but at $200 a little much. White painted furniture is still the rage too. One booth of nothing but crystal chandeliers. Rusty old gates. One dealer had a whole slew of vintage beadboard stuff, which was quite pretty. These were benches. <img class="aligncenter size-full thought this was pretty clever. <img class="aligncenter size-full href="http://southernhospitalityblog.com/junkin-at-the-nashville-flea-market/picture-042-9/">Ceiling tins. This was a really cool piece and the dealer said it was already sold and that they were going to put a slab of granite on top and use it as a kitchen island. These old carts with wheels are still popular as coffee tables. Rustic and chic. <img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-10636" title="Picture src="http://southernhospitalityblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/08/Picture-054.jpg" alt="" width="500" height="667" />A whole area of old hardware and vintage baubles. <a rel="attachment
Set of chairs for the taking. Layla, trying out an old bench.

And this was either a really HUGE dough bowl or some sort of trough. We figured it was a horse trough or something. Painted corner piece. Huge set of wood corbels, these would be gorgeous in the right kind of house. I didn’t buy a thing. Remember, we are having a yardsale in 2 weeks and I need to pare down, not bring more home. It was fun looking though. Definitely worth it if you are in the area.

Layla found a ladder that she couldn’t live without, for $10. We couldn’t figure out how to get the seats folded down in the backseat of her car, sooooooo……..We drove home like this all the way back to Birmingham.

That didn’t stop us from talking non-stop the WHOLE way back though. It was so much fun to spend some time with this girl and browse a flea market again. The last time we did that was last year at the Longest Yardsale.

Always a fun time!

REMINDER: Layla and I are having a HUGE yardsale on Saturday, September 11th, at my house in Birmingham, so if you are in the area, I hope you’ll come on out and see us. It’s going to be a LOT of fun and we will have a TON of stuff, between the 2 of us.

Now it’s YOUR turn! What have YOU found lately? Add your link to the Linky list and remember our guidelines for the party:

As usual in August, I’m losing my yardsale mo-jo for the year, but did find a couple of sales near my house to check out on Saturday a.m. I always go through this every year. In Spring, I’m rarin’ to go and by August, my enthusiasm is waning. I didn’t find much this week, but a couple of notables.

These 2 seashells were $1 for both. Have you ever seen yellow coral? I haven’t either, so I suspect it has been dyed. I’ve already tried soaking it in bleach and it turned a nice shade of brown, so I’ll spray paint it with flat white paint. I love coral and it is very pricey in the stores.

Pretty turquoise and silver bracelet was $1. Love this, especially since I really like turquoise.

And last, a little vintage dessert plate with a pretty scalloped edge was only 10 cents.

That’s my haul for the week. Not too exciting!

***************************************

The 2 giveaway winners for the Rusty Cricket art prints are:

Kristin Y with Addison’s Abode and Mary L (no blog). I’ve contacted both winners. Ladies, please email me and I’ll put you in touch to claim your prizes!

***************************************

My friend, Kelee, at the Katillac Shack is hosting a big party this week, starting on August 27th and doing a reveal of her miracle makeover space for a cancer patient that was recently featured in Guideposts. If you’d like to see more about that and also blog about it, click on over and visit Kellee for all the details. She would love to get a lot of folks participating in this big event.

No yardsales for me this week. We woke up Saturday morning to some much needed rain, so it was nice to just stay put and enjoy the drizzly day, cozy and dry inside the house.

I did manage to find a treasure though on Friday. I might have mentioned that we just got a 32″ flatscreen TV for the master bedroom. Are we the last people on earth to get a flat screen? My hubby’s TV in his office is on the fritz and is about to go out. It was a $40 yardsale find from 2 years ago, so we got our money’s worth out of it and it was time to retire that one. It seemed the best thing to do would be to put the new TV in the bedroom, since that is where we seem to gravitate for most of our TV watching. So, the old armoire and TV in the bedroom went to hubby’s office where it fits in just fine with his colors too.

This left the 32″ flat screen with no where to land. It’s sitting temporarily on that $5 yardsale bamboo table tray I found. So, on the hunt I have been for the perfect piece to hold it. On Friday, I hit the Bama Antique Mall in Leeds and came across this little gem. Now, this pic goes to show you that you do, indeed, have to look past what something looks like to see the potential in it.

If you’ve been reading my blog for any length of time, you’ll know that I would much rather find something used that is a solid piece, rather than a brand new piece of crap.

This piece is from a child’s room, but it’s the perfect height, width and depth for what I want AND it has storage. Extra points for that handy little door on the right. Lots of storage there. Those airplane knobs didn’t deter me for a second! Nor did the little ugly doodads sitting on top. It even had a matching changing table, but I felt the need to leave that for someone else. For $100, I bought it, stuffed it in my trunk and brought it home. So, here’s my painting project for the week. It’s going to be painted a pretty soft blue/gray color, lightly distressed and some of my beadboard wallpaper will go in that door inset. I thought about adding some grasscloth wallpaper, but I just can’t see spending $25+ for a whole roll when I have extra beadboard wallpaper in my stash. It’s all wood, in good condition and very solid. Perfect! I love the feet too. You can usually pull out drawers and look at the back of a piece to determine what it’s made of. Most of the time peering inside behind the drawers and looking at the drawers themselves will give you a great idea of how sturdy a piece is. This one has all wood drawers and all the hidden pieces inside are wood too. Score!

It probably wasn’t a super expensive piece to begin with, but again, what can you buy brand new for $100? Not much at all, as you know! And those cute airplane knobs? My friend, Sarah, said she loved them, so I’ll be shipping them off to her. She has a little boy, after all. I’ll be hitting up Hobby Lobby’s 1/2 price knobs and find some extra special ones for this piece.

So, in case you were thinking that if you saw a piece like this, you would only think “baby’s room”, I hope you’ll think again. Never just look at what a piece looks like at the moment.

Always look at the bones. Ask yourself these questions:

Is it a good size and shape for what I need?

Is it solid?

Can I personalize it for my space?

If the answer is yes, yes, and yes, then go for it! I love finding used pieces like this for much less than some MDF crap that you will find new. You just can’t beat shopping 2nd hand!

REMINDER from last week: I’m going to end the Thrifty Treasures party at the end of September for the season, so looking at the calendar, the last one will be scheduled for September 26th. I know you all love it, but by then it’s time for me to take a break. Hopefully, I’ll bring it back again next Spring! It’s been a fun party, but a break is good too.

Now it’s YOUR turn! What have YOU found lately? Add your link to the Linky list and remember our guidelines for the party:

Summer is about to wind down and then we’ll be into September and I can say I’m not sad to see this heat go. Yep, I’ll be glad for a little cool down soon. Summer did seem to fly by this year.

This week, I made it to a few sales and an estate sale and found a few things. A few blue things, to be exact.

This pretty blue glass ball was $5 from the estate sale. It looks to be hand-blown, so I think that’s a good price for it. I love those old fishing floats and this has that look, so I added it to the seashells in our master bathroom. This blue bottle was $2 and I loved the colors in it. I’m sure it’s not old, but it has a rustic look to it and also works in the master bath. Again, from the estate sale, this pretty blue/gray pottery piece was more at $10, but I love hand made pottery, so didn’t mind splurging on it. The colors are so soft. This estate sale was out in the country in a horse community. Buried under some paper in the above piece of pottery, were these 2 little horse tropheys. Cute, huh?! Some kid probably won these years ago. The nameplates are missing. I don’t need these, so will pass them on to someone.

I’ve just discovered a new show on the History channel: American Pickers! Have ya’ll see this one? I love this show, someone just told me about it, so I went and looked it up and now I’m hooked too. Two guys from Iowa go out in their van all over the US countryside, looking for old barns to pick treasures from. Watch it if you haven’t. Totally fascinating! It’s amazing to me how many people there are who are pack rats and never get rid of anything. Apparently, collecting is still a huge thing in our country.

From another yardsale, this Old Navy cute graphic green and gray top was $1. It will be very versatile with a white cami underneath.

And that’s my haul for the week. Nothing spectacular, but a fun week.

Here’s a heads-up for all of you who join my party each week. I’m going to end the Thrifty Treasures party at the end of September for the season, so looking at the calendar, the last one will be scheduled for September 26th.

Add your permalink to the link list, which is the actual post that you did for this party, NOT your general blog url. To get the actual post, after you publish the post, just click on the title and THAT will be your party post url. PLEASE try to get the correct url in the first time!

Please add my button to your post or blog OR at least link back to this post in your post. That’s all I ask. It’s common courtesy to link back to the person having the party, so that all of your readers can find it too.

Please do NOT link to an Etsy shop or something similar (even if you think it’s a fabulous deal) or I will delete the link. This party is for sharing thrifty finds from yardsales, thriftstores, or something along those lines. If I see that your post is not really on track with this theme AND you don’t link back, I’ll delete your link. Sorry, but I’d like to keep the party consistent! IF YOU SEE THAT YOUR LINK HAS BEEN DELETED, IT IS PROBABLY BECAUSE IT IS NOT IN LINE WITH THIS PARTY THEME.

At another house, I spotted this cute folding bamboo table tray. He had it marked at $10, but when I admired it, he quickly said he’d take $5. How could I pass it up for that? I didn’t! This could come in handy on the porch when we are entertaining out there. At one house, I found these cute Michael Kors lime green wedge shoes for $2 and some Gap white cotton cropped pants for $1. With all my lime green, these shoes will come in handy. I wore the pants to church today so that’s why they look wrinkled already. They are a nice crisp cotton/spandex and fit very nicely. I love paying $1 for pants.

At the flea market, I found the vintage bullseye block for $2, and the small plate for 35 cents. The taller Floraline vase was from another yardsale and was only 25 cents.

So, that was my week! As I mentioned in yesterday’s post, I’m definitely going to have a yardsale of my own sometime soon, probably September, so you Birmingham girls who are interested in stopping by, let me know. I have to clean out some of my stash.

I’ve also been working on wallpapering and painting in my office nook this past week and it is looking SO gorgeous! I’ll be sharing that with you this week too.

And finally, the winner of the Arise Shine $50 giveaway is Kim #59, who said: “The trust charm is my favorite! I would also like to have the Children are a Heritage of the Lord boy charm.” I’ve emailed Kim to tell her the good news.

Lordy-mercy, are ya’ll about to die from this heat wave we’ve got going on? We are sweltering and if this isn’t dog days of summer, I don’t know what is.

No yardsales for me this weekend, but don’t worry, we’ll still have the party!

How’s your mamernem? Mine’s just fine, thank you. Did you interpret that one?

We spent the last 4 days up in Murphy, NC, where my parents have a 2nd home. I’ve shared this with you before here and here, but it’s always worth talking about again. If you’ve been with me on this journey before, you will know that we eat ourselves silly when we’re all together up in the mountains. All those fresh veggies and just ripe blueberries are such a treat. My sweet mama, at 82, still cooks up a storm and we all benefit from her cooking prowess, as you will see.

I am one blessed woman to have grown up with the parents I have. They truly are one of a kind, precious parents and I’m so glad we still have them. What a blessing they are to us! I took lots of pics this time, so I hope you don’t mind. It was fun documenting our few days and playing around with my camera. I’ve got so many pics, I’ll have to do another post. As much as I love decorating and DIY projects, I’m really glad that when I started this blog, I decided to add family, recipes, travel, etc. to the mix, because all of that is a big part of who I am too.

My parents have had this house for about 25 years and it’s been a fun retreat for our family. We literally eat, sleep and relax on the porch when we’re here, with an occasional walk for good measure. This year, the heat was the worst we can all remember and the house is not air conditioned, so it was a bit brutal. But, it was fun once again to be together.

It’s certainly not a fancy place, but it’s homey and well loved. And I had fun playing camera bug, shooting lots of pretty scenery, so thank you for indulging me. Stairs going across the creek go up to the house. And this pretty creek runs through the frontyard. I love the rocks in this creek. Hubby had fun playing gold miner with his pans once again this year. The mountain laurel have already bloomed or this might be a wild rhododendrun, not sure. They have both. The veggies are plentiful. My parents always grow an abundance of tomatoes and we bring home plenty. This year it was Better Boys and big fat Romas. There will be salsa in our immediate future.
Sitting on the porch is a favorite past-time for my dad. This swing is his favorite spot. I love the wild ferns growing on their bank behind the house. Pretty delicate lacy ferns.

Back down the stairs to the lower part of their property. Crossing the tinkling creek again. These huge blueberry bushes sit out in the sun in the open field. Soaking up the sun and rain and yielding plenty of blueberries this time of year. We picked about 2 gallons to bring home, so I will be making use of that blueberry cookbook real soon. Peter and my dad went out to the garden to pick corn for our supper. They both have their rubber boots on. Dad had to add fencing around his garden a few years ago when the deer population got so huge. They were eating him out of his garden, so that wouldn’t do. This fence seems to do the trick. Dad and mom have raised a garden for as long as I can remember. My sister and I took it for granted for so long, but we sure do enjoy the bounty. And bounty it is. It’s about 1/2 an acre here in NC and they have another smaller garden back home in Georgia too. How they do it, I don’t know! The corn is just coming in and they will be putting up corn in August. Back from picking some ears of corn for our supper. And while we’re at it, take a look at the crop of Roma tomatoes. They are beautiful and large, clustered on the vines. Corn looking up to the blue sky. The silk says it’s ready to pick. My dad’s tractor equipment sitting in the field. And the tractor that makes that garden possible. At 83, my dad still loves his garden and I truly believe it keeps him and my mom young and in shape. They are such hard workers, I could not keep up with them if I tried. Our 4 ears of Silver King corn ready for cooking. Along with fried okra.

Just for fun, I did a little 30 sec. video with my mama cooking okra, so you can get a good look at it. For some reason, it is turned sideways, but you can still see what’s going on. We were talking about corn on the cob when I turned on the camera and then you can see the fried okra. WE love fried okra!

She found a new recipe in Southern Living (June, I think) and tried it out. She left out a couple of ingredients, but it was simple: Cut up the okra and pour buttermilk over it. Put out some cornmeal (with a little salt) in a bowl and roll the okra in the cornmeal and fry it up in canola oil. That’s it! It was simple and delish and the buttermilk seemed to make it crispier.

That’s what happens to us when we visit the mountains. Eat, eat, eat. All the time. My gosh, how can you pass up food like this: corn on the cobb, black eyed peas, fried okra, tomatoes, squash, and a little bit of meat.

This was my plate. And no, I don’t eat like this all the time, just when I visit my mama and daddy. Just can’t help myself, when the food is this good, you have to eat it. We even had room for blueberry pie after all that. Are you dying yet?

My mom has this pic hanging in the hallway. Circa somewhere around 1988, my sister (back when she was still a brunette), niece (who’s about to turn 28 in Aug.), and me. Back when big-hair ruled. I didn’t have any problem pulling that one off. If it comes back again, I’ll be in business. And since this is a yardsale party, I’ll share this little treasure from my family. My dad’s dad, my grandpa, added the cowhide seat to this chair and my dad has 2 of them. He said the squirrels got to this one, but he has another one just like it back at their Georgia house. And he said I could have them both! Now, where to put them? That’s the question. I told him how popular this color is again right now and he just laughed. They were probably painted this color back in the 1920’s, that’s how old they are. The original cane seat wore out and his daddy added on the cowhide in the 30’s. Now where in the world will I put 2 chairs like this??

Sorry, but I’d like to keep the party consistent! IF YOU SEE THAT YOUR LINK HAS BEEN DELETED, IT IS PROBABLY BECAUSE IT IS NOT IN LINE WITH THIS PARTY THEME.

Once again, it’s hot as it can be right now and going to yardsales have taken a back seat. I did hit 2 or 3 this weekend, but came up empty handed, but really that is quite OK, since I’ve scored on so many occasions. So, today I’ll share what I’ve done with some of my recent finds.

Hanging plates has been done all over blogland, so this is nothing new, but I finally collected enough vintage white and softly colored plates from the last 6 months or so, that I decided to hang them in the empty spot in my living room. Right above the sofa.

First, I laid them out in a pattern on the floor, so I could see how I wanted to arrange them. I used some Disc Hangers (from my fine sponsor over there to the right, free shipping too!) and these little yellow discs are great for hanging plates. They are invisible and they really do work super. The large ones are perfect for those platters. And here they are on the wall. I decided on a triangle shape and these worked out good for that. I love the creamy white and the soft aquas too, as well as a couple of light gray platters added in. And if I find more later, I can always add a few more to the mix. Aren’t they pretty?

Just for fun, I added a monogram to just one plate. You can find those over at my Open Sky shop, if you’re interested. She does custom sets of numbers and letters and it’s a fun way to personalize your stuff.

And just because I have this new camera, you’ll have to put up with more pics of the living room. Just because! This wide angle lets me get views to the kitchen and dining room. And a new shot of the gallery wall. I’ve moved my plants around again. I got this cute little plant at Ikea when I was there a couple months ago. It’s some sort of BIG bean that has sprouted in a little pot. I wish I had bought more of these. I think it was only $3.See the lamp there on the console table? I changed that out for another yardsale lamp I found a few weeks ago. The $5 one. Actually, the black lamp above was also a yardsale find from a few years ago, again $5. It may be time to retire this one, since I have more than enough lamps now. I think the new pottery one looks pretty darn great in here. I love the colors.

Me and the mister from our wedding day and the new lamp. This might be a vintage lamp, I have no idea. I’m even going to leave the gold base as is, since I still have plenty of gold accents around this house.

A tassle.

Hope you enjoyed seeing how I use my yardsale finds around my house. If I love something, I can always make it work. And I’m drawn to certain colors and styles, so it’s nice to be able to move things around.

The winner of the Bauble Bath giveaway is lucky Lena Templin! Congrats, Lena, I’ll put you in touch with Sarah so you can get your prize.

The dog days of summer are heating up and this is when I start to lose my enthusiasm for getting up early on Saturday and heading out. I did hit a few this week, but the neighborhood sales are long gone. Now it’s house to house to see what is out there. I really didn’t get much and some of them weren’t even worth taking pics, but here’s one to share.

These cute little green Christmas serving pieces were only 10 cents each and that’s really the only reason I got them. The green color is a pretty pear green. So, I figured for 60 cents, I can use them for the Holidays this year.

So, this week wasn’t much to write home about. I did buy an extra caulk gun for 50 cents, a Calphalon non-stick pan for $2, and a square box hose reel for $1. See, not too exciting. But, that’s OK. Every week can’t be a huge score.

Susan, from Love Where You Live, did a little feature today on me and my new porch space, so go on over and say hello to her. She’s a fun gal with a fun job. She scouts out homes for magazine shoots, wouldn’t you love that job?!

EDITED to ADD: And last, but not least, the winner of the Scentsy giveaway is: Renae, who I’ve already contacted by email. Thanks to all of you for signing up for that. If you didn’t win, I have a new sponsor with a Scentsy shop, so I hope you’ll check her out too, button to the right.

Last 4th of July, I hit the Homewood Catholic Rummage sale and found some great things, so this year I hit it again on Saturday a.m. And since I have been on hiatus for 2 weeks from yardsaling, my thrifting mojo was on once more and I found some great stuff.

First thing on the way to the rummage sale, I stopped in at The Narrows, which has always been a good stop for me, I’ve found a lot of good things in this small neighborhood. The lady had some awesome clothes at only $1 each, so I went through the racks to see what I could find. Brand names all over the place. I’m SO spoiled on shopping retail, since I find so many great things shopping like this. I could never go back to shopping the regular ole’ way now. I love the deals too much!

Studio Max adorable tank top, in turquoise and brown. I’ve got some cropped brown linen pants that will be perfect for this. Add my flip-flops and it’s a cute summer outfit.

J. Jill coral tank top with linen jacket.

The Limited hand knit creamy white cotton sleeveless sweater.

Ann Taylor Loft crisp white cotton sleeveless blouse, with tucks and a flounce on the bottom.

White House Black Market cream knit tank top. ALL of these were $1.00 each, 5 measly dollars for 5 new tops. Now how can you beat those prices?? You can’t, not even with a stick!!

Now, for the rummage sale stuff…

I have been wanting another vacuum cleaner that is lightweight that I can keep upstairs and pull out when needed. This Eureka is SO light compared to my heavier one and is also bagless. Works great too, I tried it out before I bought it for $10. YAY, I’m excited to find this and Ronald McDonald would be so proud for me!

Cute old suitcase was $1.

And it says Amelia Earhart on the tag, how cute is that? I’ll stack this up with another one I have.Little wooden shelf was $1. I’ll probably paint it white and use it with a grouping of plates and platters I have planned.

Moss basket was $1, with a plastic liner inside, it will be perfect for some live plant.Pretty old creamy white planter pottery was $2, to add to my white collection.3 books for $1.00 each. You can see I found classics, Gone with the Wind and Dr. Zhivago (which I’ve never read). The black one is called My Life in Court, but I got it for the colors.

And last but not least, this oh so cute old bench was $10. Part of the veneer is missing, but I can take the rest off and sand it down, since I’ll be repainting it anyway. You can see why I fell in love with it, right?

Yep, it’s her purdy old legs that got me. I’ll probably paint this creamy white and add it to the end of the bed in my upstairs guestroom. Of course, it will get new fabric too. So, there’s another project for me.

That’s my haul for the week!

Oh, and before I forget, the winner of the Custom Roman shade is Erin, from No Money Will Decorate. Congrats, Erin, hope you enjoy your prize.

Now it’s YOUR turn! What have YOU found lately. Add your link to the Linky list and remember our guidelines for the party:

Add your permalink to the link list, which is the actual post that you did for this party, NOT your general blog url. To get the actual post, after you publish the post, just click on the title and THAT will be your party post url. Last year, I can’t tell you how many links I had to fix. This year I might get mean & delete them, so PLEASE try to get the correct url in the first time!

With our big adventure in Seattle, of course yardsales took a backseat this week, but I do have a shopping trip to share that Debbie and I took a few weeks ago. She had read about a little resale shop over in Leeds, so we went over there to check it out.

Called Second Time Around, it’s owned by a nice lady and her son and other relatives help her run the place. They had some nice things and Debbie found a few thing for herself and her son’s new house. I found one little treasure I’ll share with you.

This is Josh, the owner’s son and we had fun chatting it up with him.

Check out this old folding screen with the trendy lattice wallpaper on it. I do believe this was probably done years ago when this lattice pattern was popular then. It would be so cute in the right spot.

A pretty dining table and chairs with lots of potential.

Cute chair sitting outside the shop.

Lovely old vintage wicker planter.

This metal bamboo piece didn’t have glass, but these pieces are really popular again and would be pretty painted a bright color.

A pair of vintage dining chairs.

Loved this precious Staffordshire-like lamp. I didn’t ask the price, but they were pretty reasonable on things.
This vintage marble table was $100, which I thought a pretty good price. It had a gouge out on one side, but would be a pretty outdoor table.

Here’s what I found for $10. This pair of perched brass birds with a nice patina will go on my new porch.

Debbie found this cute chandy which will go in one of her guestrooms. I loved the rug it was sitting on too.

I loved this iron-like bamboo table (with wood top) and chairs too. They were also $100, which I didn’t think was bad. Lots of character in this set.
Now it’s YOUR turn for the party this week!
