This ole’ blog of mine sure has evolved since I started it and I’m not even sure how many original readers I still have now. I don’t think all that many who started with me are still reading, but so many of you have joined in along the way and I’m SO grateful for YOU, YOU, and YOU! If you have been reading my blog from the beginning, I’d love to hear about it.
Y’all make this so much fun for me and I’d love to hear from YOU today. I’ve often wondered who all is reading. You lurkers are a mysterious bunch and don’t come out very often. Unless I’m having a giveaway.
Then, you come out of the woodwork.
So, today is all about YOU! Tell me as much as you want to share, I’d love to know at least what state you live in, how old you are and what you do, if you work out of the home or are a stay at home mom/wife. If you don’t mind sharing. I just think this will be so much fun and instead of me talking, YOU can do the talking today.
OK, who’s first! Come on, don’t be shy, tell me about yourself. We’re all friends here and I would love to know more about my wonderful readers.
And if you have a question for me too, ask away! I’ve got plenty to share from my trip to Atlanta this weekend, but thought this would be fun to do while I get some pics sorted, so I’ll get to that a little later.
Oh, and I just have to throw this in….hello my name is Rhoda, not RhoNda, as many of you think it is!
I have to laugh, because I’ve been called Rhonda all my life and usually had to correct my teachers the first day of school. I will be 53 in December.

Thanks for stopping by! I'm Rhoda, from Atlanta, GA and I love decorating and DIY projects. Decorating a home doesn't have to cost a fortune and I've spent years thrifting at antiques markets and yardsales, finding those treasures that make a home unique. I'm here to inspire and encourage other women to find their own inner creativity. Won't you join me?

Hi Rhoda, I’m the Nancy who had the great pleasure of
shopping with you at the yard sale at Briarwood this summer.
I’ve been reading you for over a year. I’m a 54 yr old stay at
home wife and mother of 2 grown and married daughters, both
married to officers in the Army and I know one of them reads you
too. And I’m looking forward to the Holiday House.
HI! I am Michelle and I’ll be 40 on December 30th! Only my mother remembers that day and I’m sure it has something to do with the pain!!! We live in Cookeville, TN and I am a stay at home mom to our 5.4lb Yorkie mix, Abby. We are approved to be foster parents and hope to adopt an infant through the state…praying everyday for that! I love your blog and have learned so much from you. Sometimes I even read it to hubby! Keep up the good work!
Hi Rhoda! I’ve been a follower of your blog for a long time now. I’ve enjoyed it so much because you are from the south (like me) and love to decorate (like me) and share great ideas, recipes, traveling to FL etc. My name is Kelly and I will be 45 on Halloween. Yikes! I live in North GA so I’m familiar with the places you go to in Atlanta. I am a stay at home mom of two boys. One is in high school and one is in elementary school. I have a boston terrier named Max that feels like a third child to me too! I love reading blogs and RMS etc. I may start a blog of my own one day. I just have to get up the courage and figure out how to do it. Thanks for all your inspiring posts!
Hi Rhoda, I’ve been reading your blog for a few months now thanks to Amanda @ serenity now. I’m 26 & about to get married to my best friend this December. I LOVE making all sorts of crafty things but wedding planning has consumed my life as of late & I’m most excited about what comes after the wedding…decorating my little rental house! I can’t wait to make it a cozy space that we’ll call home.
Blessings!
Hi Rhoda! I’ve been a follower of your blog for a few months now but I love it! My name is Missy and I’m a Texas girl. I’ve been married 15 years to Jeff and we have two wonderful children, Christopher (10) and Isabella (9 months). I started a blog of my own earlier this year. I’m still working the kinks out but I love doing it…its great therapy. I have enjoyed your blog very much, you have given me lots of great ideas for decorating in my home. Keep up the great work!
Hi Rhoda, I’ve just recently found your blog and I’m enjoying it very much, glad I found you.
I’m 55 and just had my 37th anniversary with my high school sweetheart. We have 2 grown children and 3 adorable grands. My biggest pleasure is to decorate my home and change things up often. I love reading blogs for new ideas and yours is one of my favorites.
I’m a 9 year breast cancer survivor and I try to enjoy every day. I have learned that things are just things and what’s important in life is the friendships you make doing the ‘things’ you love.
Please, get thoses mammograms, ladies!
Out of the woodwork I come to say a Northwest Hello to you, Rhoda! I found your blog serendipitiously through a virtual friend of a friend of a friend out there in Blog Land, starting with a visit to the Joyworks Blog (my favorite shop near my hometown). I live with my family in a beautiful town, which was named in this year’s Money Magazine’s Top Ten small town places to live. Can you say, Mukilteo? (muck-ull-tee-oh) It’s a lovely place to raise my girls, now 14 and 7, but the Big Sky Country is my home sweet home. We bought a funky little brown bungalow by the bay with a delicious view of the Sound and have been constructing, with hubby as contractor and the rest of us assisting, a 3700 sq. ft. ‘old house’; we are about 2/3 complete after just a short 9 years of living here. But who’s counting? Anyway, your blog inspires me and I feel like we’re friends since I check in with you daily. I admire your decorating style, thrifty treasures, and creative expressions thereof. It seems to me you are one of those ‘treasures’ yourself, a gem of a friend who has a way of making everything look beautiful and everyone feel uplifted by your presence. Thank you for the inspiration, your humble approach to this circle of sharing and the beauty you have brought to my home from yours! Smiles & Blessings to you Rhoda! ~Angie
I love your blog… I just turned 46 yesterday
I’m from England but moved to the US 11 years ago with my hubby who I met while he was stationed in Mildenhall with the USAF.
We now live in Austin, TX. I have one 8 yr old dd and am a sahm. We have one little ‘Boo’ (Shih Tzu).
Thanks for asking, and letting me share
Hi Rhoda, I’ve only been blogging about a year, but your blog was one of the first I found. Your blog is very inspiring and I enjoy reading. I am a 48 year old stay at home mom and wife. We have 5 children, but there’s only 1 left that I have to make sure she gets to school and everywhere else. She is 14 and the rest range from 18 up to 27. I have 2 grandsons, which one has had open heart surgery in Birmingham twice. I live in southern Alabama. Keep up all the inspiring decorating and interesting articles. Thanks, Debbie
Good morning Rhoda! My name is Stephanie. I am quickly approaching 30, a stay-at-home wife, and a homeschooling mom. I found your blog awhile ago and have been thoroughly enjoying it. My mom, sister, and I have trashed to treasure for our home decor for years and so your sight gives us a set of new ideas. Love it!
Hi, Rhoda
I’m the Kennesaw, GA “52 year old plainjayne” that used your great idea of the beadboard wallpaper on my backsplash in our dated kitchen. I am a full time working mother of teenage boy (15) and a wife to a hunter–that “hangs” his (and our son’s) trophies on our great room wall. We look like a mini “Bass Pro Shop” but I make it work with the other decorations in the room. It is a warm and inviting area if you don’t mind the eyes looking back at you. We also have a 6 year Westie named Libby, who we all enjoy so much!
I love reading your blog and especially your visits to the Atlanta/Marietta area. Hopefully we could meet each other one day. Please keep your blog going. You have great taste and many wonderful ideas.
JR
53! say it aint SO! LOL! I’m your cousin and remember like yesterday you and Renee having a ba-gillion fingernail polish’s on your nightstand! I do enjoy your blog Missy
Hi Rhoda! I’m Amy. I’m 40, the mother of 3 boys and currently not working outside of my home! (darn job elimination…) I enjoy your blog and was inspired to add some color to my living and dining areas. I’ll get braver soon! I love to look at all your yardsale finds.
Hi Rhoda:
You’ve no idea how much I enjoy your blog. I’m one of those lurkers who seldom come out. I did post a few things a couple of times. I hope you never stop blogging. You’ve such great ideas and you make us all so welcome.
I’m from Texas and am 67 years young and don’t feel it at all! I have raised 5 children, have 11 grandchildren and if you can believe it, my husband and I are blessed raising our great-grandchild at our age!
My passion is decorating! Keep up the good work!
Hello Rhoda,
My name is Valerie, I’m 35 years old. Mother of 3. I live just North of Los Angeles!! I’ve been reading and enjoying your blog for over a year, We seem like very similar creatures = ) I love to Entertain and try to have gatherings at my home once or twice a week. I love to cook, love to decorate my home and am always decorating friends and neighbors homes too, So much fun!!!
Hi, Rhoda! I’ve been reading for a long time, but I don’t know how long. Sometimes I feel like I ought to build a Word doc with all of the blogs I read and put a month and year next to each one so I know how long I’ve been “with” the blog! Time passes so quickly.
I’m a mom of three boys ages 6, 5 and 18 months, and I live in Bluff Park (Hoover). I work outside the home full-time and love both blogging and reading blogs. Yours is a daily read!
Hi, Rhoda! This is a fun idea! Just so you know, I have not forgotten to send you pics of my family room, which you helped me with, but am still in the “process” stage. Soon, I hope.
Anyway, I’m in northern VA. I’ve been a stay-at-home wife/mother for – let’s see – almost 25 years. Wow! It doesn’t seem that long. I turned 53 this year, too!
I just love your blog, and all your great ideas. Thanks so much.
Mary Lou
HI! I am a 31 yr old stay at home mommy to a 5 and 2 yr old. I am also the very proud wife to an army reservist who has been deployed 2 times for Operation Iraq freedom. I live not too far from you in northeast Alabma =) I love your blog and have been following it for a few months now. I enjoy your blog sooo much and check it daily…you inspire me so much!
Hi Rhoda-
I’m from Iowa and I just love your blog! Thanks for sharing all of your ideas with us!
Well I am a 30 year old stay at home mom of 3 wonderful kids. We homeschool them too. I also am married to Mark, we celebrated our 11 year anniversary back in May. I love to go to thrift stores and thrifty decorating. we bought our house back in Feb and we are trying to make it a comfortable relaxing place for us and the kids. We want this to be somewhere they want to be and somewhere we can hang out and be a family. It is a process and we are making some headway. It is great to finally hear about some of the people that I read their blogs. Rhoda I have been following your blog for a few months. I found it through the lettered cottage which i found through another blog which was found through another website. Wow that sounds confusing…
Leslie
Hey, Rhoda! I have been linked into your blog for about four months and read every post. (I found you through SouthernPlate and now subscribe through Reader so I don’t miss anything.) I am 37, re-married mother of 3 with a passion for making my Montgomery, Alabama house into home (OK, so I really live in Pike Road, Alabama, but who knows where that is?) I work full time as a strategic planner, but in addition to all of my family chaos and projects around the house, I have gained an interest in blogging. Your site has been very inspirational to me as I dabble in the beginning a blog to fulfill my need to be creative and share all of the fun (and crazy) things my family does to make our home dysfunctional functional. Thank you for all that you do!
Ooh…I should leave my website so your readers can help me “critique” the beginning stages of my blog adventure.

Hi!
My name is Jeannette. I live in Southern MD. I’m 25, married, with a little white maltese shih tzu puppy named Lucky. My husband and I are about to close on our very first house, which is a total fixer upper, so I’ve recently started following great decorating blogs like yours to get some inspiration for our new house. Keep up the great work. I really enjoy reading your blog.
Hey! I think your blog is so cute and I love reading it.
I live in sunny AZ and am 24 years old. I am a stay at home mommy to my beautiful 10 month old son and I am 22 weeks pregnant (Crazy, I know) I love being with my little guy all day though. Right now I am into walking since its cooling down a bit in the morning. Have a wonderful day!
Well, I’m Heather…I’m twenty-two. I’m a stay at home mommy of two beautiful, intelligent toddlers (both girls!). I have a local marketing company. I deal directly with businesses offering logo and business art design as well as promotional items. I also print my designs on shirts for craft shows
I love to decorate my home, especially on the cheap, but with two toddlers, I’m lucky to keep it clean right now! Love the blog; I’m a blog junkie. I appreciate your ideas and the effort you put out to share them with us
)
Hi Rhoda,
I may be one of your oldest readers. I’m 69, married almost 40 years, three children, and nine grands. My grandkids range in age from 29 down to 4, so we have many varied ages to enjoy.
I retired and we down-sized seven years ago. Went from a big 2-story home in a gorgeous part of the Kansas City area to a new ranch home in a small farming community just outside of the city limits.
I enjoy your beautiful blog each day. You are interested in the same things I’ve always done. Love to get a bargain!! and love to decorate.
Keep up your wonderful work!! Rosie
Hi! I am 25! From East Tennessee with 2 boys! Love the blog!
Good morning Rhoda!! I am a 40 year-old mama of three kids that I have the priviledge of staying at home with and teaching them. We currently live in PA, my hubby has a wonderful job that allows us to move frequently and experience different parts of the US. I started reading your blog this year and maybe found it from BooMama’s Christmas Tour (?) I used to design before my kiddos were born but don’t do it too much anymore except for my own house but still love seeing all that’s out there!! Love your taste and your blog and would LOVE to go yard-salein’ with you just one weekend
God bless you!!!

Hi Rhoda.
I’m Stephanie from A Fine House. I have lived in Ohio my entire life. I am the 2nd of 7 children and I just turned 40 last month. I dream of living in a 100-year old farmhouse, but I have been so blessed with a brand new 2008 home. I was originally brought in to reading your blog through your Thrifty Mondays, but also love your recipes and seeing your home and all of your little “field trips” that you take.
I have two kids, 15 & 20. I work for a Sales Rep. in the furniture industry and my office is in my home. Gotta love that!!
Keep up the great writing. I really enjoy your blog!
Stephanie

Hi Rhoda -
Janice here from Baltimore……. We “met” at Great Impressions which certainly became the catayst for many, many decorating blogs.
I’ve truly enjoyed watching your popularity grow and continue to be amazed at your creativity.

Hi Rhoda, I’m one of your lurkers having commented only a few times. I truly love our blog – it’s the first one I look at every day for the past year and a half or so. I’m 64 years young, live with my husband in Manhattan, KS, and collect dishes and glassware. Love decorating, cooking and all things around the home. I have two grown kids, two grown stepkids and five grandsons. Please keep up your wonderful blogging!
Hi! I’m a stay-at-home wife and mommy. I’m a domestic engineer!
My paychecks come in sticky kisses and great big bear hugs…and hubby even encourages me to yard sale…sometimes! I have four kids; three boys and a girl. My oldest is 5 and my youngest is almost ten months. I am BUSY. I live in California, where the prices are too high and the people are too liberal. We only have two seasons: winter and summer. And boy! The summer is HOT! In spite of all this, I’m determined to ‘bloom where I’m planted’ and share Jesus with those around me. I have a blog and I comment here a bit, but I lurk, too….like I said…I’m busy!
I love your blog and feel your sweet southern charm jump off the computer screen to me every time!
{Hugs}

Hi Rhoda! I’ve been reading you for about a year and a half. I’ll be 58 in December. I live in a small rural community in southeast Mississippi. I am married, have two grown daughters (39 and 37), two grandaughters (20 and 3) and one great grandson(4 months). I work in a convenience store. I love gardening, decorating my house and being with my family. I enjoy being around beautiful things and looking at all the wonderful things people create on the internet allows me to take an idea and use it to create something for me or my family to enjoy.
I guess I don’t usually leave a comment because I read so many blogs that I don’t have time to comment, but rest assured I read you every day. You are very creative and I like you style very much. Thank you for taking the time to share with us every day.
Hi!
Thanks for the great ideas! – Kathy
I’m new to reading blogs, but found yours while looking for inexpensive decorating ideas. I’m 47, married to a military guy, and homeschooling 2 children in south Georgia. I love decorating, but the budget means I really have to do it cheaply.
Hi Rhoda!
Just popped over to give you some good news! You are one of the winners of my giveaway! Happy Monday….who says Mondays are no fun! I will email you with more details. Congrats!
xo,
Adrienne
Hi. I’m Sharon. I’m 52 years old, live in western NC, and work full time. I have an amazing husband and a 17 year old son.
I love crafting and all things decorating. Unfortunately I’ve become a bit of a packrat of late.
Can’t remember how I first came across your blog but I have been a regular reader for some time. Really look forward to your posts and am hoping to hire you to help me out with some decorating after I’ve purged away a bit more. Love your style!!!
Sharon
Hi Rhoda,
I love your name. My entire life, I have been called Trisha or Krista when my name is TRISTA! I realize most people haven’t ever heard the name before, but it sounds JUST LIKE IT”S SPELLED. Come on people. : D
I found your website a few months back when I wanted to paint my kitchen table black. I saw your tutorial, but was still terrified. But, in reading your blog I got the courage up to pursue my dream table and chair set on craigslist. I now see the clearance shelves and hidden treasures much differently. Thanks for all of your inspiration.
Hi Rhoda,
I’ve been enjoying your blog. I first found it by stumbling across your gorgeous laundry room redesign while searching in Google, I believe. Since then I’ve been a reader and participant in your Thrifty Treasures posts.
I’m 25 and live in the Philadelphia area with my husband. I blog about the decorating adventures of our first home. When I’m not blogging, I work in digital advertising.

) As an over 50, full-time Executive Assistant to the CFO, with a kid in college, a beautiful Golden Retriever, a yellow-striped tabby (who thinks he is a dog), and THE MOST wonderful & patient husband in the world (that I rarely see since he is a restaurant manager), I don’t get a chance to read your blog every day; sometimes I have to read a week at a time to catch up, but I haven’t missed one yet this year and look forward to an AMAZING Christmas seeing (and stealing . . . Uh, I mean, adapting) all of your decorating ideas.
Christy from Fort Worth, Texas here – the completely committed ShoppinJunkie. (Or should be “committed”?
I don’t know exactly when I started reading your blog (I think Jan 09?) but bless the day I did. I’ve always had dreams of doing projects (a la HGTV – talk about an addiction!), but never really had the courage to just GO FOR IT – until I started reading your blog.
Because of YOU I started out with renovating some old wood candlesticks (you were so kind to post this little project on your site); then painted a cabinet; refinished a floor lamp from Southwestern style to something a little more contemporary. I have worked my way up to totally refinishing an antique bench, and – my Grand Opus (well, so far anyway) turning two bookcases & two nightstands into a media center (pics on the way to you via email).
Because of YOU I have found access to dozens of the MOST amazing, clever and inventive women I’ve ever known – anytime I have a little break-time in my day, I pop onto my favorites to see what scathingly brilliant idea is next (and start planning how to make it my own!).
Because of YOU my “to-do” project list is longer than my arm; not sure how the hubby is liking it, but I’m loving it (gives all that KRAZY action in my brain something to work on) and YOU for giving me that little mental “push” of what was possible. You continue to be an inspiration and motivation for me.
Hope to meet you one day & give you a big ol’ Texas-sized hug, while I talk your ears totally off & we shop our feet to nubs!
Best to you always . . . .

Hi,
My name is Erin. I am 43. I work outside the home in Finance as an accountant for a company that owns Nursing Homes. I have been married to my DH for a little over 3 years, after being widowed very young. I have one son who is 18 and in college.
I discovered the blog world about 2 years ago when I had taken a year off and was considering open a store (Romantic Country would best describe it). I decide with the economy it was not a good idea at that time.
I am not sure when I discovered your blog but I was part of the MSN decorating group I did not post a lot but was a member from its beginning. I always posted at Better Homes and Gardens.
I love your blog and get quite inspired by you. I am amazed at your constant energy level. Very creative..

Hi not Rhonda–
Couldn’t pass up this chance to say hi, even though I’m not having to emerge from the woodwork. What a good idea for a post–lots of fun to see where your readers are from! I’m guessing you’ll get a LOT of comments!
I’m 46 years old, a stay-at-home mom to three boys, and your biggest fan in Durham, NC. As I’ve mentioned before, we moved here from B’ham, so reading your blog often makes me nostalgic for Alabama.
Hope you have a wonderful day!
Richella (not Rochella–I know how you feel!)
My name is Kristen and I’m 27. I work as an Academic Counselor for Oklahoma State University – I like my job (most days hahaha), working with college students is always challenging. Hubby and I just celebrated our 4th wedding anniversary!
I have crafted, honestly as long as I can remember. I became obsessed with baking when I got an Easy Bake Oven for my 5th birthday!
Hey! I’m Liz. I live in Bham too–Greystone area. I’m 43 and an oncology RN. I found you this past summer!! Love your blog! Was hoping I’d run into you sometimes at a garage sale! Haha!

Hello Rhoda…not Rhonda!
I am a 35 yr old SAHM of 3 in a small town in northern Iowa. I read you because I absolutely love your decorating style. I cannot seem to remember how I found your blog, probably through another decorating type blog. I’m striving to make my home more beautiful on a shoe-string budget. Aren’t we all?
Looking forward to more of your great pictures and posts!
Hi Rhoda,
My name is Gina and I’m 26. I’ve been married for three years and I live in Denver, CO. Your blog was actually recommended to me by one of your friends, Rhonda. She and I work together here in Denver. She said she got to stay at your house (I believe it was one you were selling) for a while and was telling me how creative you are. Since I’m trying to be creative on a budget, she told me about your blog. You have inspired me to go garage saling, and I can’t tell you how many things I’ve found since then that I just LOVE! Thanks for all the ideas!
I’m Becky and I’m 27. I’m a part-time attorney and I teach ballet. I get to work from home most days which is wonderful!
I read your blog because I’m decorating impaired. For years, my husband and I lived in New Orleans in a rental that was periwinkle, fushia and lime green on the outside! (My favorite was the orange glitter bathroom). To this day, I wish our pics had survived.
Now, everything we have is beige and we’re trying to ease into color. But after the New Orleans house, color isn’t easy for us to pick out! Thank goodness your house is beautiful and you tell us paint colors that work together!
Hi I guess I am a lurker
My name is Anna and many of my teachers had to be corrected for insisting on calling me Ann. I’m 56 and have been a stay at home mom, antique dealer, ebayer, auctioneer, office worker and caterer. I’m unemployed at the moment but will be keeping my new grandbaby starting next month. I enjoy your blog… keep up the good work.
oops I’m from Kinston NC … eastern part of the state an hour from the coast
Hi Rhonda~~~ I mean Rhoda,
Sorry I slipped there for a minute! :^)
I am a mother of two grown kids. One girl, soon to be 29 and a son who just turned 22 in July. I have two grandson’s, one will be 9 this week and the other will soon be a year old.
I am 49 years old, I work for the State of Tn. for the TBI
(Tennessee Bureau of Investigation). I have 26 yrs with the State, just recently moving to the TBI a little over a yr. ago.
I have always worked in crafts, making this or that. I now pittle around with it and I also make jewelry. When I was 40 yrs. old I discovered that I could paint (never to late). I got into oils and recently this year I had my first showing at a gallery.
I have always loved taking photo’s since I was a child, usually family pics. Almost 4 years ago I got my first digital camera (point and shot) and got into taking shots of other things besides people or family. The itch got worse so I purchased a Nikon D40 a little over a year ago for a hobby. This hobby has become a part time job in the last year, I have been hired to shoot two weddings and three high school senior individual outdoor photo’s. I love it!
So there you are Rhode, that pretty much sums me up.
Pam
Hi Rhoda,
I’ve been reading your blog for about six months now and I love it! I especially love your blog entries about Southern food (I love food!), and about your garage sale finds! I haven’t hit the garage sale circut yet but I intend to, someday! I made your chocolate chip cake the other day and my family loved it so thank you for sharing.
I am 36 yrs old and live in Southern California. I am a stay-at-home mom of 2 little ones (a 3yr old son and a 1yr old daughter.)
Kind regards,
Stephanie
Hi Rhoda,
I’m a 40 something stay at home mom and wife who loves to fluff her nest. I’m always thinking about what I want to do next in my house and have more projects in my cue than time to complete them.
I love to cook and we spend a lot of time in the kitchen so I’m always thinking about how to make it more inviting. I also love to thrift store shop and turn trash into treasure. I never find the kinds of things you do at yard sales, though. I wish I did. I love near St Louis and wish we had a flea market, but we don’t.
Over the summer I started repainting much of my house (I had had the same colors for over 10 years and was SO ready for a change) and I was inspired by you and SW Whole Wheat. That became my launching point and I am loving the results. Still working on my window mistreatments inspired by The Nester. Maybe they’ll be done and up this week or next.
I would love to see you do a mini series on accessorizing different styles of tabletops – for example a round side table, a rectangular side table, a square table, a console table, a round coffee table, etc I have an end table next to the sofa in my family room and it’s kind of a rectangle (running the depth of the sofa) and for some reason I can not figure out what to put on it and how to arrange it!
Thanks for your hard work on your blog. I love it!!
Hi Rhoda,
I’m Julie, a 48 year old stay at home wife, (I have 3 grown children and 3 grand sons), I also moved to Birmingham from the Atlanta area in 2005.
I just recently found your blog and love, love, love it!
Thanks for the inspiration!
Hi Rhoda!
My name is Tricia Hicks, and I am turning 50 this year!! I am a tax accountant, a Jesus lover and a newbie to this whole crafting thing. Tax accountants are not normally known for their creativity! I am having so much fun though! I love to thrift store shop!
Hi Rhonda
I stumbled onto your site about 6 months ago and have been an avid reader ever since. I get so much inspiration from all your crafty ideas and blogs. I live in Minnesota, 36 yrs old, married, 2 children and work as a project coordinator for a construction firm in Minneapolis. My biggest decorating struggle has been convincing my husband that is okay to paint the furniture black. He just doesn’t get it. I don’t think we’ll ever agree. Thanks for all the inspiration….
Regards,
Wendy S.
I can’t even remember how I found you, Rhoda, but I’m glad I did.
I’m 45, married, a homeschooling mom to two teenagers, and a writer/editor/speaker person. I’ve always referred to myself as domestically-challenged, but thanks to you and the Nester I think I might be slowly coming around. I’m in Charlotte, North Carolina, but I come near you quite often to visit my parents in Atlanta.
Thanks for all you do to help people like me!
Hi Rhoda,
I am most definitely a lurker, I absolutely love your blog and come here to visit once a day. I am 44 years old, been married 14 years with a 13 year old son and an 8 year old daughter. We live in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario Canada. I was raised in Stone Mountain Georgia, both my parents and one of my brothers still live there. My baby brother lives in Alabama. I met my husband when I came to Canada to get my Library degree.
I am head of public services for the public library here, but my true passion is antiques. My family constantly makes fun of me, because although there are only 4 of us I have 10 iron beds in our home. I am on report now that I have to get rid of some before adding more to my collection. My dream, after retiring is to have my own antiques store.
Thank you so much you inspire me every day to enjoy my life, home and family.
Hi Rhoda,
My name is Elizabeth and I live with my husband in Modesto CA. I have two daughters ages 32 and 30 also two adorable Grandchildren.

I am an Administrative Analyst for a large Corporation.
My passion is needle work and decorating (my family too). I am always re-arranging things around our home and I love to change the color of our walls (Its only paint) I also love creating a new cottage look for our home.
My Dad loves to tell everyone if you sit in the chair long enough Elizabeth will paint you too!. LOL.
I enjoy your blog very much Rhoda and have been a reader for quite some time, although I did not become a follower until recently, I didn’t know how to follow but one of our dear blog sisters wrote me a note on how to follow.
Enjoy your day,
Elizabeth from “Home is Where the Heart is”.

Hi,
I’m Jill, a 39 year old stay at home mom of two great kids. My son is seven and my daughter is 5. I found your blog when I searched for panel moulding ideas for my dining room. You actually gave me the courage to do it and I love the results! Thanks! I live in Chapel Hill NC.
Hi, my name is Peggy I am a 47 year old mother of two children, a daughter who is almost 20 and a son who is almost 18. My husband and I moved our family from Las Vegas, NV to central Tennessee about three and a half years ago. We have been flipping houses and really enjoying life. My husband is starting an engineering firm with a friend that he made here. I will help them in the office and keep the home fires burning. I have learned so much from your blog (I don’t remember how I found it, but I have been reading it for quite a while now) and always look to you for ideas. The biggest thing you have given to me is the courage to try some things on my own. My husband~of almost 25 years~is VERY handy and can do just about anything I dream up, but I never do the big projects myself. Now I tell myself if Rhoda can do this, then I can do this!! I really enjoy your blog and your personality. I know we would be fast friends if we lived by each other.
Hi Rhoda,
I’m 45 years old and married 19 years to a wonderful guy. We have two boys, ages 13 and 10. I live in a suburb outside of Philadelphia, PA. I only started reading your blog a few months ago. I read alot of blogs, but never really thought to look for home decorating ones until I clicked through a link somewhere or other. Now I’ve got a bunch that I check daily, including yours. It’s like getting Better Homes and Gardens but every day. I love it! I’ve not been much of a DIYer out of fear, but your blog and a few others have made me try different things and I’m so happy I did. Keep up the beautiful posts!
Hi Rhoda!
My name is Susan, I’m 38 and also another Birmingham reader. I’m a SAHM to my 22-month-old daughter. I’ve just decided to return to work, so I’m searching at the moment in this icky economy. I’m hoping to return to the non-profit world, but the search is very slow going at the moment! I share a wedding anniversary with another reader–November 3 (Robyn, I think?). This year will be 8 years. My daughter and I have December birthdays, too!
I guess I’ve been reading your blog for a couple of years now–ever since you moved to the area. It’s been SO much fun reading as you discover places around town that are familiar and seeing them anew through your eyes. I’ll suggest things every now and then, too. Sometime we forget what a great place Birmingham is!
I’m always on the hunt for decorating ideas, and you always have something to offer. Sewing is another hobby–currently, I’ve been making lots of adorable clothes for my daughter. She has quite the wardrobe now! Music and theatre are two more passions–the Ham has a thriving arts scene, too. My heart also belongs to Auburn (even though I’m from a family of UGA alumni)–WAR EAGLE!
I know what hard work it can be to post an entry every day. Thank you for your hard work and devotion to all of us readers!
Susan B
I’m Lindsay! I live outside of Austin, Texas. I’m now a SAHM (blog at home mom?) to my darling Zack, who is 3. Before having Zack, I worked in politics, both in DC and in Austin.
I’ll be 32 on Thursday.
Hello my name is Heidi. I am 45 years old. I was a senior marketing manager for the past 10 years; recently I lost my job so I am a stay at home house wife. I really love being at home but can do with out the financial strain of it all. I have been ready your blog for the past year and a half. Not sure how long you have been writing. Reading your blog daily helps me to forgot some of the hardships that is currently going on in my life.
Thanks and many blessings to you.
Hi Rhoda,
I have followed your blog for about a year now and I guess you would call me a stalker because I do not have a blog of my own but follow many. I am a SAHM of two girls (Madison,9, and Katelynne, 7) I have been married to a wonderful man for the last 12 years and he is a saint to put up with all of my projects. He never knows what will be changed around the house when he comes home. He is scared that I will srart knocking down walls next.
I love to do all things crafty and for the past 7 years have been a workroom for several interior decorators in the Athens, Ga area. Please keep all the wonderful ideas coming. I have used the beadboard wallpaper in my girls bathroom and love it. Thanks again.
Michelle Simpson
I forgot my age. I am 34 and pushed out every brain cell that is responsible for memory with my last chiild. Sorry.

Hi Rhoda-
My name is Beth and I’m 36 SAHM to a daughter who’s 3 and 3 month old twin boys. I’ve been following your blog for a few months now. I recently painted our playroom the same green you have in your laundry room and I LOVE it! I get compliments on it all the time! Love your blog!!!
Hi Rhoda,
My name is Alice, I’m 50 and I live in Philadelphia, PA. I have a love for decorating and bargains and I really enjoy reading your inspirational blog. (It’s been in my favorites for about one year) You have boundless energy and people often say the same to me. I feel like when you find something you love doing, it is not an effort but joy.
It is so hard for me to pay retail for anything, I’d much rather go to a flea market, garage sale or auction. I love having a story to my finds.
Keep up the good work your home is beautiful and so are you!
I guess I’m the oldest – so far – I just turned 64 and have been reading your blog for about 6 months. Still working at a college in Bham and love it. We’re looking forward to a move soon and have just loved every project you’ve shared with hopes of using some in our new home. You’re truly a blessing!
Peggy
I am in Montgomery. I found you through another local Montgomery blog in 12/08. You were listed as a fav. of hers and now a fav of mine. I never miss a day. I am a married full time nurse with 3 children. Our house is for sale. Cannot wait to move and start decorating using all of the blog world’s ideas. Hope you do a post on Christmas village. I go every year and love it.
Hi Rhoda,

Hi, my name is Tonya. I am from the state of Tennessee. I am 36 years old and a stay-at-home mom of 11 years of two boys. I have an elementary teaching degree, and I am currently trying to get a teaching job…cross your fingers! I love to pretend to be a photographer and decorator. I love being outdoors, spending time with family and friends, and watching my fav tv shows. I love animals and try to do my part to help the environment. Well, this is me in a nut shell. Thanks for asking…..
Holey Moley! You have a lot of comments! I guess people really like talking about themselves.
My name is Jen and I stumbled upon your blog back in February this year (I was google searching spray painting light fixtures). I fell in love with your blog instantly. Your blog was one of my first introductions to blogs outside of the family variety. I was so inspired by you that I started my own blog in April (www.thethriftyhome.com).
I am about to turn 33 and I am a SAHM with 3 kids in Utah.
Hey Rhoda, I’m across town from you (Western side), & I found you via The Birmingham News, after reading one of its feature articles on you. I’ve been a follower ever since! (I am originally from “way down South Alabama”, but moved here in 1982 to attend UAB, & lo ‘n behold I’m still here!) I am 46, mother to two boys & one girl, and as of this past summer have a wonderful daughter-in-law! I work full-time at a local non-profit. I love thrifting, decorating, sewing, and cooking, but find myself always having to wait to do the things I want due to time & money! My two younger kids extra activities seem to always take any extra I have, but that’s okay, they will not be little for long. I am truly blessed with my family & the friends I have in my life. Our church & spiritual beliefs are very important to us. Thanks so much for sharing a small part of your life, I enjoy your blog so much. Not only all your wonderful ideas, but when you share your family stories & memories. Your post always pop up on my e-mail late in the day & I love seeing what you’ve got to say!
Oh…I forgot to mention your anniversary is on my birthday!
Hi Rhoda, I have been following your blog for probably eight months now. Love it. I am 43 and live in east TN. I have worked as a teachers assistant for the past 3 years, but have decided to be a stay at home mom again.
Hi Rhoda, I love your blog and have been a follower for a few months now. My name is Kara, and I live in Utah. My hubbie and I have four boys and are trying to adopt a little girl. I have two blogs, a thrifty decor blog and a cooking blog. I love all the things I learn blogging, and the bloggy friends I have made!
I am 51 years old. That sounds so much older than it feels. I have been married for 3 years. I have 1 son (from a previous marriage) who is 26 & two step sons 26 & 18. Plus one DIL and one grandson who is 2. I live in southern California. I am an insurance agent (which I hate). I am basically lazy & a procrastinator so it is a miracle that I get anything done at my house. But I love to shop at thrift stores and I love to decorate. I just need to paint my walls. I lived in an apartment most of my adult life until 3 years ago when we bought our first house. I’ve always hated white walls, but I’m so afraid of making a decision that I still live with white walls. What I really need is someone to paint my walls (hubby hates painting and I’m too lazy). And I love, love, love looking at decorating blogs. I have been following your blog for probably a year or so. Not sure how I originally found you. But I have enjoyed getting to know you through your blog. And I loved the bunnies on the stick, and Thrifty Mondays (you need to bring that back, many of us shop at thrift stores & love to share our finds). This has been fun getting to know everyone a little better.
Hi Rhoda. my name is Arlene, originally from NYC now I live with my hubby of 15 years in southern PA. I have an Etsy shop where I sell handmade handbags, and aprons. I love to sew and do crafts. I work Part-time to help me purchase my supplies and support my collection addiction. I love your blog, I’ve been following you for a few months now, it seems like alot of us have been. I am 34 years old. Enjoying spending time with family, friends, crafting, decorating, playing with my kitty’s and baking.
Hi Rhoda, I’ve been reading your blog since I found blogland over a year ago. My name is Elizabeth and I live with my family (hubby and two boys, 10 and 12) in Ontario, Canada. I’m 44 and I work in Education but I am fortunate to be home in the summer.
