Mike tells me my time is coming, too, for the big faced watch. If he even catches me squinting just a bit I get a big, "A HA! I told you so!!" ;-)

Rhoda-
Just "found" your blog and I LOVE it. Makes me miss home & the South so much! I've been living in Phoenix for the past 7 years - so I'm displaced ... but once a GRIT, always a GRIT. Take care and I'll be reading faithfully. By the way, I am now hungry for cornbread. :)

Yes, I know what you mean about the big watch face. I am a nurse and the girls I work with tease me about my wrist"clock". Ha. They will need a big one soon enough. Your decorations in the holiday look beautiful. I can't wait to see more.

I get tickled everytime I see those cornbread pans - they remind me of my grandma's house so much. She always had a bunch of them floating around.

Hi Rhoda!
I so enjoy your blog and read it everyday! I too, found some cornstick pans at an antique store and rushed home to use them. I found out the hard way that the pans were NOT seasoned! We had cornstick crumbs for supper that night! Since then they have been seasoned and make the bestest cornsticks! Thanks for sharing your blog with us!

Rhoda, I have the same cornbread pan. My father found it...in a yard sale...and gave it to me years ago. :) If you spray the entire thing with nonstick cooking oil spray, including the spaces on the top, in between, even if you overfill it, they will pop right out. And, they come out so crunchy good!
