I enjoyed you sharing your various home picture transformation. I still have and enjoy the Tuscan decor style. I mix it with the Shabby Chic and Farm House decor. I agree that it is difficult to purge and to start a new expensive trending style. Sorry, but I am a pink gal all the way along with fringe and tassels. I am glad that you did lighten your walls in the rooms. White/cream walls are more relaxing on the eyes. Happy Spring!

I love your home and the way you decorate even if you do not embrace today’s neutral design aesthetic. I think the most important thing we have to remember and you said it is that it is our home and we have to love living in it. I also could not part with all my knick knacks and so they will come out each season to be displayed. But you are also right in going through them to discard what no longer works. Rhoda thanks for taking us on your journey to see how your homes have evolved over the years, it is truly eye-opening.

Rhoda, I just loved this blog post! It gives me a lot of direction. I still have very nice brown wood furniture pieces that I still love too! You have inspired me to call the painter tomorrow!!
Do you work “for hire”? I love your style.
    Thanks for sharing!

HI, Christy, thank you I’m so glad you enjoyed this post! I tried to break it down into how I think and do things to update. I don’t hire out anymore, but I used to do some online consultations.

Very cool post! It was really fun watching your style change. Thanks for the reminder that good quality classic base pieces can always be reworked into the new trends! Very nice examples! Your house is lovely.
