Fashion over 50: Black Flare Jeans

Hi, friends!  Our week is moving along and we are still working on the bathroom. I had to order a little more bullnose tile and that won’t be finished up until next week, but we’ve got plenty to work on to get it completely finished, but it’s looking so good. I’ll do an update post soon, but I won’t be able to share the bathroom until the beginning of April.  I have to abide by the sponsor’s timeline and there are several who are doing bathroom makeovers.

Today’s Fashion over 50 is a sweater and black jeans post.  I just bought these black cotton flare jeans from thredUP.  They were $13.99 on the thredUP site, which you know is a great deal.  It’s been fun to browse their site for deals and when I spotted these White House Black Market jeans, it was fun to try them out.

I like the fit and the flare leg is a nice change too from skinnies all the time.

I’ve had this Michael Kors sweater for several years now and got it from TJ Maxx, another good find.  The scarf I think came from Pink House Style, they sent me a few things a couple of years ago, but now I don’t see scarves on their site.  I love a colorful scarf to really amp up a plain outfit.

Take a look at the leopard earrings. A gal on Instagram reached out to me and sent me about a dozen pair of her leather (plus other materials) earrings and they are so cute, plus they are lightweight.  I’m really going to enjoy these.  Check her out at Just Christi, she’s got some great things.

These Matissee booties I’ve had for about 3 years and I still enjoy them.  Links below for them.

And that’s it for this week.  I was headed out to meet some girlfriends for lunch and wore this.

So here are a few similar things below. The dark wash jeans are from the same store and these are the booties I’m wearing. I’ve also been meaning to share my very favorite pj’s with y’all, from Victorias Secret. I have 2 pair of these and I just love them. They are a cotton flannel and SO comfy and they are on sale.  I have a black and white leopard pair which they don’t have anymore and also a pink and gray striped set.  They went on sale right after I bought the pink ones, but they ran out of sizes really quick.  So if you can still find your size, this price is great! The link is below as well, so if you need Long, they have them and I love the longer sleeves and pants length since I’m tall.

  1. Rhoda as always , you look great! Lunch with friends is always a fun time!

  2. I can second that vote for flannel PJs from Victoria Secret. I’ve had them in the past and they are roomy and last forever. One pair even had velvet piping on the collar and cuffs.

You look amazing as usual :):):) I need to borrow you for a day so you can help me pair things in my closet ha ha ha!!!
One thing I was excited about – now Loft has plus size clothing, I have been looking at what they have so far. It is so hard to find nice plus size clothes!

  5. I have VS nightclothes that must be considered vintage by now and I love them – an LHOP style night gown that was the only “lingerie” I would agree to register for (for wedding shower), a beautiful satin nightshirt, and pink toile flannel pjs – I only wear them during the holidays, and they’re really special. I’ve always admired proper pajamas and night gowns. I do have a nice robe, so there’s that.

Terrific sweater! Very nice with your pretty scarf.

    Rhoda,
I really like every single thing about your outfit. I’d enjoy wearing it just like that. I hope you had a nice outing with friends for lunch. And, the entry table (right inside the door in your pictures) looks wonderful. Enjoy the weekend. Much rain in Central Arkansas!

  7. I love boot cut jeans. I hate all the skinny ones that are fashionable nowadays!

  8. I like the flair jeans and those earrings are adorable. Good luck on the remodel of your home.

  9. Rhoda, you always look so well put together and you wear these outfits well! Seriously, you would be the perfect model in a fashion magazine. I love everything you are wearing today. I’m really beginning to like flare leg and boot cut jeans again.

  10. Rhoda, could you tell me the brand and color of your matchstick roll up blinds which are shown behind you in these pictures? They are lovely and just what I’m wanting in my home on French patio doors. Thank you so much! Love your outfits as always!
