Hey there friends and Happy 4th of July!
Mark is off work today, so we are hanging out together and doing a little relaxing around here. We may end up at the concert and fireworks in our little town tonight. We’ve been so busy around here working on some projects that it will be nice to be caught up and do some relaxing the rest of the summer. It’s too hot to do anything else outside!
I will be leaving a week from today for our Haven Conference and so the next couple of weeks may be a little slow around here. I’ll be sharing things as I can, but I’m not going to go crazy trying to get a lot of posts up before I go. I need to slow down a bit and enjoy this month. The Haven Conference will be in Charleston, SC this year and we are so excited! Mark is joining me on Saturday evening and we are staying a couple of extra days in Charleston to do a little sight seeing together. Can’t wait!
In the meantime, today’s Fashion over 50 is a dress I wore last weekend to an outdoor concert at the Marietta Square. We enjoy getting food and going out there to sit and listen to the music, always a fun time. It’s always very hot too, so I definitely dress as cool as I can and this white dress was a good option.
I bought this little cotton/rayon shift dress last summer when I was at the beach on St. George Island. I had forgotten my hanging bag of clothes, so needed a few things to get me by and this dress is by Raya Sun. It’s very cute and I know I’ll enjoy it this summer too.
I added some simple jewelry I’ve had for ages, along with some slip on flip flops by Guess. I got these a couple seasons ago so can’t link the same ones, but I’ve linked a few things below that are similar.
Raya Sun brand is very inexpensive, but very cute things for summer and I see several of their things on Amazon, so I linked a few of those too. I think they are perfect for summer weather.
This dress has some embroider detail and brown buttons which give it a nice look.
Also, I wanted to share a sale alert with you! This is not a great pic, but I got the dress in and wanted to show it on. I was looking on the Nordstrom Rack website and most of their summer maxi dresses are really marked down. I ordered two dresses and this one came in over the weekend and I love it!
The brand is Sandra Darren and it is on sale for $25.97! I know…great deal. It’s a jersey knit type fabric which is so easy care for summer and seems very well made to me. I love the little cut in on the shoulders and it’s fitted in the waist and drops down to ankle length. And of course, I love the pattern and colors! I can’t wait to take it with me to Charleston. I ordered one more dress from Nordstrom Rack too that was on sale and I don’t have it yet, but linked it below, the one with the red accents (affiliate links), so take a look and see if anything catches your eye too! I saw several dresses that were so cute and great prices!

I love dresses and wear them all summer.
Easy to make into an adorable outfit with some jewelry and cute shoes. Enjoy Haven and your time relaxing with Mark.

Rhoda, my daughter lives in Charleston and markets Porzio’s Pizza Sauce and Porzio’s Pesto. If you make it to the market, look for her or her partner Maureen. It’s also sold in a few of the grocery stores there. It’s delish!!
Rhoda says
HI, Terri, thank you, I’m sure we will go to the market, it’s been ages since I’ve been to Charleston.

happy 4th. the second dress looks like it will be good in other seasons with the add of blazer jackets cardigans.
Rhoda says
Hi, Brenda, I agree, these dresses can easily add a jacket for different seasons.

So glad you mentioned the sale! That dress is so cute! Sometimes dresses are cooler in the heat & humidity of July & August. Hope your 4th of July was awesome! Have fun in Charleston!
Cindy says
Everything looks great on you because you are blessed to be tall, slender and have great arms. I no longer wear sleeveless because I am over 70 and have big arms. I am so envious.
Rhoda says
THank you, Cindy, I guess I have good genes and staying consistent with working out for that. I have worked my arms with weights for many years because I wanted to keep them toned. I think we all need to dress for our body types and show off your best features.
