Feature Friday: Gold and Stripes

I’ve recently come across another new blogger (surprise, there are always new ones out there!).  She’s been blogging about a year now and she just moved this year to Woodstock, GA, not far from me.  Her name is Emily and she blogs at Gold and Stripes and she has a modern aesthetic using lots of black and white and bold colors too.  She’s in a rental house right now, but that didn’t stop her from doing a few projects and making the most of it.  Hope you enjoy the tour of this pretty home that Emily has created.

foyer

I love her use of black and the gold accents really pop.  She added that Greek key ribbon to the lampshades, which is a nice touch.

living room 7

She’s recently completed a gallery wall to accent the wall where the TV is housed and it looks so pretty.

She used several mismatched frames and sprayed them all gold to use with her prints and thrifted them all.  Love a bargain hunting girl!

hutch 2

Black hutch in the living room space and I spy a black door too.

bamboo mirror

She has updated her bathrooms and made them really cute.

bathroom downstairs

Stripes in the powder room adds a lot of pizazz.

dining area titled

The dining area with more black pieces and some mirrored frames and artwork.

KITCHEN TABLE

The breakfast area sports a table and gold bamboo chairs.  Those are so cute!

FULL BED VIEW

The master bedroom has an upholstered headboard and black and white striped pillows.

A few pops of color are scattered around.

Looks like the hutch has been moved around from space to space, it’s a great piece for storage.

addelyns room full view

Her daughter’s room is pretty in pink….and black and white.

addelyns bed

Very cute space for Addy.

girl's room

What little girl wouldn’t love a pink kitchen all her own?  So adorable!

black campaign chest

Emily loves DIY project too and scored this campaign chest on Craigslist, giving it a fun makeover.

Hope you enjoyed seeing Emily’s Georgia home and get inspired for your own space.  Say hello to Gold and Stripes and pay her a visit, I know she’d love to meet you all.

Happy Friday!  Today, I’m being featured over at Porch.com, so stop over and read the interview they did with me!

I smiled to myself when I saw that pretty pink kitchen/bedroom combo. I bet mom had to do some quick photography on that one – as I doubt Addy keeps such a spotless kitchen on most days. 🙂

You were right on the money! I clean her kitchen every night and by the time she’s out of her bed the next day, it’s back to chaos!

Love your campaign chest — I scored a similar one in Roswell, after one of Rhoda’s thrifting tours! 🙂

She’s done a great job and kudos especially because it’s a rental.

Gilda needs to tone it down and not be so rude.
