Thrifty Treasures

I found a few things last weekend that I didn’t have time to share, so those are going in here today, as well as a few things I picked up on Saturday, in spite of the rainclouds that hovered over Birmingham all day.  Luckily, it was only misting when I went out bright and early to a neighborhood yardsale at Eagle Point.  I’m sure all the houses weren’t open, but there were plenty of people milling about, even in the inclement weather.  That’s how you can spot a die-hard yardsaler!  🙂

I found this pretty set of framed prints of the French Quarter in New Orleans, $5 for the pair.

Loved these!

All three of these pretty mercury glass balls, which I already have some of, were $4.  I use them at Christmas for decorating.

Larry Levine jacket was $3.  Love the style of it.

My very own tool box, for $2.  It’s a good one and now I can keep my tools organized, instead of strewn all over the house.

Really cute Chico’s skirt for $5, more than I normally pay, but it’s worth it for this brand.  Can you tell I love black and white? 🙂

Sweet little framed crosstitch for hubby’s office of the AL elephant.  Roll Tide!$2.50

Almost 2 yards of this pretty black floral fabric for $2.50, which I’ll use on a porch, if we ever get one.

And last, a pretty aqua ceramic planter for 25 cents!  I’ll definitely plant something in this.

I can’t wait to show you the chair makeover that I did on that cute chair I found a couple weeks ago, remember?!!  Come back this week for the whole story, you’re gonna love it. 🙂

So, now it’s YOUR turn for the party this week! What have YOU found lately. Add your link to the Linky list and remember our guidelines for the party:

  1. Add your permalink to the link list, which is the actual post that you did for this party, NOT your general blog url. To get the actual post, after you publish the post, just click on the title and THAT will be your party post url. Last year, I can’t tell you how many links I had to fix. This year I might get mean & delete them, so PLEASE try to get the correct url in the first time! 🙂
  2. Please add my button to your post or blog OR at least link back to this post in your post. That’s all I ask. It’s common courtesy to link back to the person having the party, so that all of your readers can find it too.
  3. Please do NOT link to an Etsy shop or something similar (even if you think it’s a fabulous deal) or I will delete the link. This party is for sharing thrifty finds from yardsales, thriftstores, or something along those lines.

  15. You found some great treasures this week. I think my favorite are the mercury glass balls, but the art is a close second. Thanks for hosting such a fun party every week.

Thanks for sharing and for hosting the meme.

  20. You found some really nice things! I love that planter!! I need to find some nice ones for my deck this year. The fabric is beautiful.

I can’t wait to share with you how you inspired me to make some changes in my Living Room. Thank you!

  23. you find the nicest stuff!
just curious, I am seeing some really junky sales this year, is it just an Oklahoma thing or do see much junk at Alabama sales too?

    • Rhonda, there is always, always plenty of junk at the yardsales! You just have to be willing to get out there & look for the treasures. Believe me, it’s not all great stuff. I hunt down the deals & good items.

  24. A lot of great finds!!!

Only a quarter on the aqua planter…unbelievable!!!

Thanks for having us…I’m getting to be a ‘regular’ 🙂

I would be so honored if you would consider dropping by my first “Shop Your House” party on Wednesday at Dirty Hands, Beautiful Life.

    Happy Monday!!

  25. Oh my, I love those mercury glass balls. Looks like you had a great sale day!

  26. I LOVE the Mercury Balls! Oh how I wish I could find anything made from mercury glass!! I am green with envy…

  27. I love those prints and the clothes alone were well worth the time out! Chicos for only $5?!?!? That’s a deal! And I adore black and white, too!! And I adore that fabric…can’t wait to see what you do with that! I think a well made tool box like that is worth its weight in gold! I pray that you have a blessed week!
    Blessings, Lana

  28. That skirt makes you look SOOOOOOOOOOOOO skinny! I need one of those! Love the prints and the planter! I’ve been eyeing some similar prints. Are you going to foo-fi-fy that tool box and make it look girly? ;O)

  29. Hi Rhoda,
It was so nice to meet you this morning in small group! We really enjoyed the lesson…your hubby is a very good teacher. Thank you for making us feel so welcomed, too…it’s hard to enter into a new situation, but all of you made it so easy for us!

I can’t believe you went yardsaling in that weather on Saturday, but you got some great things! Those prints are especially nice! Have a great week…hope to see you next Sunday!

  30. Rhoda, I love the prints! I love everything that you found!

This week I’m sharing my foyer redo which includes my thrift store desk makeover. I would love your thoughts – I’m #34 on the list. 🙂

    Have a wonderful day, friend!

  31. I am so glad I found your blog! I have been looking for a site to post all of my yard sale finds. Sorry about the picture for my post; This is the first time I have linked like this. But it won’t be the last! Looks like you had a good yard sale trip! I agree with you about true yard salers don’t mind the rain. Hope you visit my blog.

  32. Great finds, Rhoda. . . and you found all these while shopping in this weekend’s weather?? Good for you! Your courage was rewarded!

  33. Rhoda! I love that jacket and you’ve inspired me again to get out and start thrifting—so many great finds 🙂

  34. Rhoda, Oh yeah you can find those treasures. Your finds are always so classy. Love the skirt and the material you found, those prints are awesome too. thanks for hosting yet another Thrifty treasures party, it is so much fun to see everyone’s finds. I found a darling box with bunnies painted on it, thought of you, found it at “A Classy Flea” in Marietta. I bet you have heard of that place. I loved the place, stopped there on my way to Chattanooga, Atlanta seems like such a great place for thrifty treasures. the bunny box is on my post. Happy hunting, Marla

  35. Happy to hear you didn’t blow away while treasure hunting this weekend! Love your finds.

I must apologize. I linked up the wrong post this morning, pre-coffee. The correct one is posted now.

Thank you for the linky opportunity!

  36. Your prints are by an artist named Don (maybe it’s Dan?) Davey. I have a set of four that I found at the Disabled Vets thrift store here in Nashville. Love them, especially after I reframed them in black and gold to match my powder room.

    • Heather, they were marked so I looked him up, You are correct, it’s Don Davey from 1966. They don’t appear to be all that valuable from what I saw online, but they are very pretty, so I’ll just keep them.

  37. Rhoda, It’s simply amazing what we can find out there, isn’t it? Your framed art is a great find! Also love the aqua pot and that fabric! Oh, and that jacket! You had a good shopping time, didn’t you? 😉

  38. What a darling Chico skirt! Definately worth $5. I love the jacket, too.

  39. Hi Rhoda,

Thanks for the link party. I made sure to link my post back to the party! Love your finds… I would love to go shopping with ya!!

  40. not only did you get good stuff, but you got good stuff at great prices!

  41. Rhoda, love the black and white prints they are wonderful I would have snagged those up also. Are you adding those to your salon wall? I should have posted on your blog today. I forgot about your Thrifting post. I bought a footstool at Big Lots not actually at a thrift store and did a make over on it. I posted on it today. Does it have to be from a thrift store or just a great deal? I guess I had better read the rules. Kathysue

  42. Rhonda, the fabric is from Hobby Lobby and is a current print there. I’m using it to do new pillows for my couch and possibly cover a rocking chair!! Thought you might want to know in case you need more than you found!
