Without a doubt, Spring is my favorite time of year. I just can’t help but get a bit giddy as our temperatures get warmer and the buds outside start to push outward into real spring flowers. It’s like the world has come alive once again for a new season of freshness that we sometimes forget about during the weary doldrum months of winter. We didn’t have a really terrible winter, but still there’s just something so fresh and clean about Spring and I love it.
Spring has been flirtatious this year, in that she has come and gone and hopefully will be back again soon. So many things are blooming right now and last week we had temps in the 30’s and I’m sure that has been happening all over the country as cold snaps invade us all. Inside my house, I don’t go fully crazy with changing out things for spring, but it’s fun to join in a blogger party and get my house spring ready for the season.
This time of year you’ll find scads of blogger home tours going on and I’m happy to be joining Marty with A Stroll Through Life and her annual Spring tour of bloggers. There are 30 on this tour this week and I’m kicking off Monday with some fabulous ladies. If you’re stopping by from Laura from Decor to Adore, welcome! I know you enjoyed her adorable home.
This year I went back to my early days of blogging when I was a little bit bunny crazy and had bunnies all over the place. I still like bunnies, but I’m a little more sparing with them these days and only keep my favorite ones.
My living room hasn’t changed much at all, just added in some extra spring things.
A cloche over on the side table holds some spring vignettes.
I picked up these moss balls up in Nashville and it was fun to use them in my decorating for Spring this year. You may recognize that marble and gold round tray from Target that has been all over blogland. I got it for Christmas and it’s a fun decorating accessory.
Here’s the tray from Target if you’re interested (affiliate link used).
Another cute lavender plant that I picked up locally from a shop in Vinings, Front Porch of Vinings, is a great looking faux plant. I have bought a few faux plants lately and they are some of the best I’ve seen, so I’m all about them if they look great.
Fresh flowers in a vintage planter is fun to display.
My mantel holds some of my blue and white canisters that I’ve enjoyed for many years.
I do still love blue and white and used it years ago and now it’s fresh again, so I’m loving it all over again. It’s definitely a classic.
These pieces came from the old Bombay company and Ross, as well as some vintage finds.
I’m getting ready to do a back porch refresh using lots of blue and white too. Can’t wait for that!
I do love those pops of colors in my home decorating.
These white tulips are the ones I got from Magnolia Market in Waco and they are really great looking faux flowers too. That little succulent is also fake. Fake plants have come a long way over the years and maybe I’ll do a post about the ones that I really like. I got rid of so many fake plants and flowers years ago, but when they look really good, I’m all about the faux in certain spots. That mossy bunny was from Michaels or Pier One a few years ago. I remember people calling them “bunny on a stick”, which was pretty funny. I tried to find them online, but can’t source them right now.
More blue and white on the foyer table.
And you’ll see another new faux orchid over there, one I picked up recently at Costco for $30. I loved that it was in a pretty blue and white pot and it looks so realistic too. Plus that means I can’t kill it so it will always look like this and that’s a big bonus!
I added another moss bunny in the pot.
Blue and white and greens are fun to use during this time of year.
That tiny piece of pottery was gifted to me a few years ago and I love how delicate it is.
Peeking into the dining room, I went all green in there which looks really good in my neutral space.
The gray/taupe table cloth is new from Ballard Designs outlet.
I think this is the first time I’ve showed you my newly redone botanicals that I got at Round Top last year. I had some real ones in these frames but they turned brown so I wanted more of a fresh green in there and I love them.
This pretty bunny has been with me for many years and putting him on a cake stand makes him extra special. A preserved boxwood adds more green in here.
Here’s one from Target (affiliate link) that’s round. I love preserved boxwood!
On the table, I added my green bunny dishes and lots of different green hues for a fresh and springy look. The iron and glass vases I got from Magnolia Market look really nice on my dining table, with fresh flowers added.
I picked up some green flowers and greenery from the grocery store and love these bright shades of green all mixed together with the moss ball.
I found my moss balls in Nashville at a shop, but here are some on Etsy (affiliate link).
Another mossy green bunny joins the flower bouquet.
An artsy shot of the bunny! I just love him.
These bunny plates have been with me for about 20 years now and I still love them. Made by Bordallo in Portugal, I used to pick these up at TJ Maxx, Marshalls and Homegoods, but I don’t know if they are still out there now. I’ve got many of these dishes as well as a few serving pieces. Notice the cabbage leaf placemats under the plate, have had those a long time too. Silverware service was an estate sale find. White plates and wood and white serving pieces from Mikasa Italian Countryside collection.
I thought it would be fun to get these out for Spring.
Greens in most hues are my favorite and during the Spring season, green is extra special to decorate with. That gray color above the board and batten is Benjamin Moore Rockport Gray.
Peeking in from the kitchen, I do love it when my table is set.
In the kitchen, more green Bordallo dishes round out the kitchen shelves.
As you can see, I’ve got quite a few Bordallo green bunny pieces. And I’m glad I kept that cute bunny oil painting all this time too, it’s great on these shelves.
I hope this tour of spring and green at my house has inspired you for your own Spring decorating. Be sure and stop by and visit Tammy with Pink Peppermint Design. I know you won’t be disappointed when you check out her home too.

I love all of the small home decor touches that you added. Changing your decor for each season does not have to be large, drastic changes. Small, simple changes add up to make the same effect. Thanks for sharing.

I too have those green bunny plates and assorted pieces. I love taking them out Easter for our brunch! I haven’t seen them in TJ Max, Marshalls or Home Goods lately either.
Carole says
The house looks very homey. I perticularly like the bunnies and the blue and white. For a while blue and white was put out to pasture , so I was pleased to see it make a come back. I love it and have some very pretty pieces. I say it never went out of style. I say if you love it then it’s in style. I have also for years loved bunnies. My children use to love when they would come in from school in early spring only to find the bunnies sitting around. Smiles all around and I loved it. Like you though I put only a few out now. I do have a few stone ones I leave out a little more than the rest. I loved all the pics. Your house looks very sweet. I like :)))
Rhoda says
Thank you, Carole, you are right blue and white sort of went out of favor, but I never got rid of all of mine just like I didn’t get rid of all my gold and gilt paintings and things. So things always cycle back in especially classic things that people seem to love. Blue and white is still beautiful to me too!
Tammy Mitchell says
Rhoda, I just love your home! So inviting and pretty. You are a master at mixing color, pattern and texture. Thank you for sharing your beautiful tour.

Cristina says
I love your home! The blue and green touches are also my favorite color combo this year. Now, if I have to choose a room, I’ll say the dining room, it’s classy, and warm, and beautiful. Again, your entire home is!
Donna Williams says
Love your home and reading your blog. How do you store home decor when not in use?
Rhoda says
Hi, Donna, I have a smallish storage closet off my laundry room that has shelving in there. That’s where all my extras are stored. I would love to have a bigger more organized area for it all, but it’s fine for now. Christmas is in there too.
Heather says
