Adjacent to our neighborhood is a county park, with basketball courts, soccer fields, and a winding trail through the woods. It’s been fun to explore it and see what all is back there. Even though we are close to the main highway, it feels a million miles away.
So, go with me on a little nature walk, down this pretty trail. Growing up, I was a total tomboy and spent many days outside in the nearby woods close to our house, riding my bicycle, wading in the creeks, and having a ball. A pretty idyllic childhood for sure.
And I still enjoy walking in the woods and seeing what God has made for us to enjoy.
It was a perfect early Fall afternoon and the sun was peeking through the trees just beautifully. 
Wilds ferns are in abundance in our woods.
I met up with my hubby, whose favorite new hobby is panning for gold. This little creek is a perfect place for him to get away from it all and still be about 5 minutes from home. He’s found another place to pan about an hour away in another county and is having so much fun with his new sport. He hasn’t found any nuggets yet, but if anyone can find one, it would be him.
This little creek in the woods is surprisingly clear and is all sand on the bottom.
So, I enjoyed my nature walk and took some pics.

Lichen moss growing, I love how nature provides such pretty things to look at if we take time to explore.

A little waterfall. Can’t you hear it now? I’m not the best photographer, but I love to try to capture some of this beauty. I’ve gotten much more interested in photography since I started blogging and love to see beautiful pics that blog friends have taken. Maybe I’ll take a class one day and get better at this. 
A walk in the woods is good for the soul, don’t you agree?

You are fortunate to live so close to such a beautiful walk…I am always amazed at God’s handiwork! I love little streams and creeks. Love seeing those woods! It reminds me of our home in AL. We lived on a dead end street growing up right at the foot of a mountain off of Ruffner Rd. We used to go in the those woods every afternoon after school and hike or whatever. It was great. The streams and plants..the fallen trees and moss. I also loved the old well that had the best tasting water. And there were even old mine shafts. Great memories!
What great pictures. I was a bit of a tomboy, too, growing up…and that little trail would have been heaven for me.
I don’t have the opportunity to enjoy the great outdoors as much as I would like anymore, but when I do I still thoroughly enjoy seeing all that God has beautifully decorated our world with. Thanks for letting us tag along with you on the trail.

What a delight! I love nature walks. I feel closest to God when I am wondering in the woods. It is food for the soul. It makes everything right in my world when I get back to nature and allow God to speak directly to me. Thank you for sharing your little piece of Heaven on Earth with us. Blessings.

Beautiful! I love being outdoors too. So quiet and peaceful. God really shows through when you turn off all of our man-made distractions. So glad y’all had a great time & hope hubby can make it rich in his gold endeavers
Living in the country myself, I love to go on walks this time of year. We have several acres and some of the trees are about to begin to change colors. It is a great time to be outside here in Alabama if you dodge all of the rain showers!
