End of August Thrifty Treasures

Happy Sunday!

I’m back from a fun weekend in the NC mountains and I will share all of that fun later, but here are some highlights from last week’s party.

Mid-century set of flatware from Tatter and Fray that was scored for $2!  What a find that was.

Check out these pink painted beauties from Oops Redone.

Upholstered twin headboard from Goodwill for $10 from Design Pardeux.

Being Brook scored a $20 Goodwill desk that she painted blue for her son’s room.  Cute!

I love Amanda’s genius idea of taking a HUGE thriftstore frame, ordering a family print to fit the old pic inside and using the old mat, now she has a BIG framed family print over her fireplace.  For under $20!  That’s my kind of bargain.

Parsimonia found these vintage Pyrex bowls out thrifting.  These are SO pretty!

Debbie has a great collection of thrifted blue and white pieces.  Love it!

So, what did YOU find this week?

There are a TON of parties out there to highlight all your projects, so please let’s keep this one about thrifty finds that were bought 2nd hand! Not a great sale from the store, or a recipe, or just a plain project, but 2nd Hand finds only!

And please DO NOT go back in your archives to OLD posts and link up. Let’s keep this party fresh and current! If you have already shared your find in a previous party, DON’T share it again! Please, girls, I don’t want to have to delete links.

  1. Add your permalink to the link list, which is the actual post that you did for this party, NOT your general blog url. To get the actual post, after you publish the post, just click on the title and THAT will be your party post url. PLEASE try to get the correct url in the first time! :)
  2. Please add my button to your post or blog OR at least link back to this post in your post. That’s all I ask. It’s common courtesy to link back to the person having the party, so that all of your readers can find it too.
  3. Please do NOT link to an Etsy shop or something similar (even if you think it’s a fabulous deal) or I will delete the link. This party is for sharing thrifty finds from yardsales, thriftstores, or something along those lines. If I see that your post is not really on track with this theme AND you don’t link back, I’ll delete your link. Sorry, but I’d like to keep the party consistent! IF YOU SEE THAT YOUR LINK HAS BEEN DELETED, IT IS PROBABLY BECAUSE IT IS NOT IN LINE WITH THIS PARTY THEME.

  6. Great highlights…cute desk and great upholstered head board.

  7. Google isn’t letting me comment so this is for Tatter and Fray

Talk about a score! Have you given it the bakelite test? If you rub the handle and it gives off a formaldehyde smell you have a valuable set of bakelite flatware.

  8. Good Evening Rhoda,

I am happy to be joining you this week…I always have great days at my Salvation Macy’s!!

  14. Hi Rhoda! Thanks so much for hosting this party, and featuring the Pyrex bowls! I’m having so much fun thrifting the whole Butterfly Gold collection, and finding these Cinderella ones in such pristine condition was a Godsend! Also, I’m very jealous of your weekend in North Carolina. It’s so beautiful there! Can’t wait to hear more about it!

  15. Those pyrex bowls are awesome. Very nostalgic! and in great shape!!
Love the mantel and the pink bed set too.
Thanks so much for hosting! Hope you’re doing well 🙂

  16. Thank you for hosting! Hope you have a fabulous week!

  17. Rhonda, lots of inspiration here. Debbie’s blue and white inspired me to pull all my pieces out of the cupboard for display again. Some thrifted, some not, but I do enjoy the group together.
Thanks for hosting each week. ~ sarah

  18. What a great link up, so many interesting finds! I’m la-la-loving that set of flatware- its so hard to find nice, unusual pieces, at a good price.

  19. Thank you for hosting. It has been a looong weekend, and I am even a bit confused on what day it is. I am having trouble with a direct link back to the party but I am working on it. Thanks for being patient with me.
I look forward to seeing everyone’s treasures each week.

  20. Thank you for the spot light! I love your blog and this linky party!
    Just so much goodness! xoxo

  21. Thank you for hosting! So glad you got to spend some time in the mountains. Sounds so relaxing.

  22. Thanks for hosting the party! I just added my Bridal Tea
The Chair was originally an auction find that I paid less then a dollar for, the frame was a yard sale find for 75 cents, and the banners were made from scrap fabric and burlap that I had sitting around my house. The teapots and accessories were all purchased in lots at an auction, and we paid less then $20 for all of them! Check out the link I’m #107 on the party above!! Thanks Angie

  23. I participated for the first time this week! I love all of these fun ideas! I can’t wait to try #101 – the jars!! I’ve been wanting to do this forever for Halloween but didn’t want to pay a fortune for containers! This is a great option!
