PH Celebrate Halloween

You may have noticed that I’m not particularly big on Halloween (if you’ve been reading my blog for a couple of years).  I don’t get into all the Halloween decorating, although we certainly will have candy available for all the little goblins in our neighborhood and there are plenty.

But, I recently received a gift set of signed books from my new friends at Hoffman Media from the giveaway I did with them a few weeks ago, with a couple of extra magazines added to the mix and just wanted to share these photos with you from Phyllis Hoffman’s Celebrate Halloween.  How about that, a magazine all about Halloween!  So, if you do get into this holiday, you might want to look for it on the newsstand next year, to get your Halloween on. :)

Halloween table

I loved this whole table display for a Halloween party, very tasteful and pretty.  Check out the BOO candles, too cute.

Southern Favorites

I eagerly picked up this magazine of Southern Favorites, also from Hoffman Media’s Taste of the South.  It’s chock full of 141 delicious recipes and I’ve already found about a dozen I can’t wait to try.  So, if you’re looking for more recipes and especially Southern recipes, look for this one too.  This will be added to my cookbook collection for sure!

Hope you all have a fun and safe day with your little ghosts and goblins too!

I’m like you on Halloween. I get a couple things out for the mantel, but that is it. I love the table above for it’s restraint.

I handed out candy at the door last night, then collected all my Halloween decorations and put them away for another year.

Now for a couple weeks calm before Christmas decorating!!!!

Oh, Rhoda… is that Hummingbird cake??? It looks divine!

Cute pumpkins on that porch. I love pumpkins because they go all fall long, and scarecrows do, too. Said by someone who does not do scary. ;-)

XO,

Sheila :-)

VERY classy and cute! I’m not big on Halloween decor, either, but this is ALL so GREAT! Thanks! :)

I am with you….I decorate for Harvest not Halloween (so much)…love the splash of orange in the house…it lights everything up….

I put out my scary Halloween things a few days before and will take them down right after….that way I get to keep up my Harvest things right through Thanksgiving….then its on to XMas :)

I know a lot of people don’t do Halloween for religious reasons….so to each their own :)

Happy Halloween Rhoda….
Kathy :)

ps what are you giving out ??? I am giving Peppermint Patties, M & M’s and Dots…I put them in cute little bags, have been for years, and this year with Swine Flu they are suggesting people do it this way …keeps the kiddies hands from touching all the candy and spreading germs…who knew I was cutting edge…LOL

Hi Rhoda,
That is lovely Halloween decorating. Isn’t it amazing at how creative some people are. I’m not sure if Southern Favorites is available here in Canada but I’ll certainly be on the lookout. Have a great weekend and TFS! Sheila

I am loving that tablescape! Great inspiration photos for those who want to decorate for the season in a way that is classy and not at all creepy.

That tablescape is fantastic. In fact, it almost works just as a fall tablescape. Very, very, tasteful. Love it!

That’s a cute tablescape! I don’t do halloween decorating either. You could do 4 candles and have the letters F-A-L-L on them instead of the B-O-O. So cute!

Rhoda,
I don’t do Halloween either. I celebrate the fall season.

Southern Lady is a favorite of mine. The November-
December issue came today and it’s load with tons of good stuff…

Blessings…Betty

Hi Rhoda,
Thanks for sharing those great pics. Guess it’s okay to borrow a few ideas from you Southern ladies out here on the west coast! I like the table centerpiece, great for Thanksgiving, too. I’m starting to plan my table for the big family dinner, my favorite part of the holiday ( decorating for it!)
BTW – your dining room is so pretty, I love the white against white on that one wall, with the contrast of the dark wood buffet – very elegant and lovely.
Have a great weekend, Happy Halloween!

I like this type of Halloween decorating! We only have a couple of Halloween decorations in our home. But I would love some of these pieces!

Lovely decorating photos. I too love the elegant understated dining display. And I’m saving a copy of the pumpkin picture to go in my inspiration file – love it.

Good luck getting all the kinks worked out in your move – Ugghhh that’s frustrating.

Have a beautiful week…Tracy :)
P.S. I’m having a fall giveaway. I hope you stop by to enter at http://cottonpickincute.blogspot.com
