Thanks for your generous offer.
I agree with Georgia, San Francisco sourdough, my favorite. Did you know the yeast comes from the ocean air? I was fascinated to learn this, wonder if other ocean environments offer versions?
Honorable mention in the bread department goes to well-made thin crust pizza. With pesto and goat cheese, does it get better?
I admit, as I read comments, I was with each one. A hearty brown bread with soup in winter satisfies.
Most precious, we are fortunate to have choices.

I can’t pick just one kind of bread, I love them all. Really, the best
bread is fresh from the oven, still warm with butter- yum.

I don’t even know that my favorite bread has a name. You see it’s made by a friend of mine who is originally from Romania. It’s her own secret recipe she’s developed since moving here to the U.S. Perfectly crusted on the outside, topped with poppy seeds and wonderfully fluffly on the inside. Oh it’s divine.

Rhoda, that would be a fun book to read. Sort of reminds me of cooking through Julia Child’s book. Linda

I don’t normally enter the contests – letting others have the chance to win but this book is the perfect gift for my husband. He is baking bread like a mad man lately and I LOVE it!!! He would enjoy this book very much. Thanks for the chance and for letting me know about the book, should I not win!

ditto on the peasant bread rhonda!
In turkey they use long handled boards and a brick (kiln-like) oven. It is the most fabulous bread one can eat! Love the give away! Have a great week.

What a great book! I’d love to check it out. My favorite bread is a crusty on the outside and slightly chewie in the center. Great for dipping and cleaning up a great sauce left on a plate! They used to make one called Swiss bread at a bakery in Urbana, IL…TO DIE FOR!
Amber S says
I agree with you–a crusty Italian bread but I love a pat of real butter on the first bite, then I can dip the rest of it into the dipping oil!

I love to read and this sounds like a great one to read on the porch this summer. I love to visit your blog and always enjoy my visits. I used to bake 5 or 6 loaves of whole wheat bread each week when my kids were little. I was taught by a girl who grew up on a farm. It was my favorite but I’m not sure that I could make it the same now.
