My sister is known for throwing great parties and she is often asked to host baby and wedding showers, just because she is so good at it. She is great at putting the tables together, buying food for a crowd, and hosting a very fun party. Recently she put together a baby shower for the girls she works with and I was over there when she was putting the table together.
Coming up with unique shower ideas is not always easy, so here’s a twist to the traditional baby shower table for you!
I just knew you would all love to see this for yourselves! It was the cutest idea of using teddy bears on the food table.
She used a whole bunch of teddy bears that she picked up at different spots. The big one came from Costco.
And all the smaller ones she got from Goodwill for just a few dollars.
She scattered them around the round dining room table and used levels and lifts to hold all the food dishes.
Adding some candlesticks and 2 different fabrics, it was a fun table to look at.
I wasn’t at the shower, but I know those ladies enjoyed it.
All those bowls and tiers were filled with food.
And the bears kept it lively and fun.
You know how to use levels, right?
This tiered glass stand of mine has come in handy for a lot of occasions. We used it at Lauren’s wedding too.
I think she sent the mother to be home with the big bear.
Speaking of Lauren, she was home that weekend and we got to visit.
The table turned out really cute, so I had to share with all of you too. Finding new ideas for a baby shower is always good.
She picked up that pretty crystal bowl at one of our yardsales, really cheap. I always know where to go if I need to borrow something.
Here’s how those levels are done. Random books stacked around the table with pretty fabric draped across and tucked. Very easy to create this look and it makes a table so much more interesting that just plopping the food out there.
Her burlap table cloth came from Ballards. Love it all and I hope you got some great ideas for baby shower entertaining.

Adorable!!
I love the way she repeated colors & had an accent color – very pleasing to the eye. And the serving pieces really worked well together. You’re so right: a flat surface is a boring surface! I loved the way you showed how to “build your own elevators” – it’s a great way to use what you have!!
I’ve seen that burlap tablecloth in the Ballard’s catalog – they have such neat stuff! I need some burlap ribbon…
Thanks for sharing.
