Adding Pretty Knobs on the Laundry Room Cabinet

Finally, I got around to adding some pretty knobs to the gray laundry room sink.  We are about to start adding a wall in that space in the next month or so and I can’t wait to get it all cleaned up and looking nice.  One end of the room looks good and the other end of the room looks like an explosion hit, but that’s the way it is with renovations.  We are going to build a wall across the far end where the toilet sits and behind the wall will be my storage area for Christmas and extras I want to keep.  It’ll be great to get that little project done too.  Always something to do around here!  Believe me, we are not finished yet.

Ya’ll know I like to keep things real around here, so I’ll show you the ugly that is currently residing on one end of my laundry room.  Our tools are still piled in here from working on the screened porch and all of those bins are holding Christmas.  I have a tall metal shelf that stores all my extra accessories and soon, we will build a wall across this end with a door that will hide the toilet and all my storage pieces.  Can’t come soon enough!  I’m grateful to have this large space and will utilize the heck out of it, you can be sure.

And real life in the laundry room, with beach towels hanging and things not completely picture perfect, but that is life, right!?  I do enjoy having this space very much, especially the large sink and the extra toilet.

You can see more of my finished laundry room at this link.

In the meantime, I hit Hobby Lobby in search of some cool knobs and found them easily.  I decided that a pretty turquoise glass knob with a brass stem would be snazzy on my new cabinet and bought them on the 1/2 price sale.

Hobby Lobby knobs

Half price, these were $2.00 each, a cheap way to add some bling to a cabinet.  I just might upgrade both of my bathroom cabinets too.  I was so tired of renovations when I did those bathroom, that I just screwed back on the original 1970’s handles, but I could find some really cute ones to add later.  Think I will!  Hobby Lobby has some of the same knobs that Anthropologie has, so you really can’t beat their selection and prices.  I loved the little bit of rustic gray on each knob which really brought out the gray in my cabinet.

I measured and drilled holes in the doors and drawers and screwed on the new knobs and I love the look now.

These are perfect in here and add just the right amount of jewelry to the piece.

Eventually, I’ll really get this room looking spiffy once that wall is built this fall.  Stay tuned for that one!

Do you need some new knobs for a project?  Check out Hobby Lobby, you really can’t go wrong with their selection.  I love adding bling to cabinets this way, really adds a wow factor on a DIY piece.

I loved that you have shown us a real life laundry room and not some magazine style never used room! Thank you for the inspiration for me to update mine. You’ve sparked some ideas for me.
Hobby Lobby has a fantastic selection of knobs with amazing prices.

Looks really nice Rhoda, love each new thing you add in there! I like keeping it real too! So nice to have that space, my laundry is in the kitchen and doing some work on the house now and 1st plan was to move the dryer in the kitchen with the washer and then thought about trying to move the laundry entirely elsewhere instead of just moving the dryer from the garage, but wasn’t in the budget – so going with the 1st plan for now and also take time to make sure I know exactly what I want where.

Sigh – looking back at your laundry room post was May – summer was ahead of us! Now, I keep telling myself summer is until 9/21…don’t be bummed lol.

Love your new knobs, Rhoda. Such a pretty color! I’m getting ready to paint my kitchen cabinets and would love to run to HL for some new handles and hinges but alas there is no HL within 200 miles of me. Maybe I’ll check online and see what they have there. I’m looking forward to seeing how you finish off this room!

Very pretty. Oregon does not have a Hobby Lobby. 🙁 but I just heard they are opening one finally about 1hr away in the middle of 2014.

I have never been to Hobby Lobby (though I have driven past it on my last trip to Home Goods and Ikea). I wanted to visit there but I spent too much time shopping at the other stores! I wish it were closer to my home (its around 45 miles one way) because I would shop there quite often 😉

I can’t believe all the SPACE you have in there! My laundry room is a closet – literally. One of these days, I will be happy with merely adding a cabinet over the washer and dryer. Love the knobs. Very cute! And it is the little details that make such a difference in things.

Love the bling!! I had seen on Pinterest where you can take those white porcelain knobs, that we all have laying around, color them with a Sharpie (stroke from the center to the end) and bake them in the oven. Anxious to try this for my bathroom and thought your readers might enjoy too.

Thanks for telling your loyal followers about Hobby Lobby’s knob selection.

I just bought knobs from Menards for a couple of projects and had to redo one set after I bought them. Good part though is that they had a rebate on them and they were FREE.

Knobs are really pretty and I hope they are qualitative also. You will agree that it is very surprising how these little things can refresh the design of the furniture and room in the whole! You`ve inspired me to do the same!))

I love the colour of the handles and the little chippy bit adds character.
