Some of you are still not getting my email subscriptions delivered and I’ve done what I’ve heard to do to try to fix it. It’s a problem all over blogland. Can those of you who were NOT getting my emails let me know if it’s changed in the last week or so and if you’re now getting them delivered? This is so frustrating for all of us!
Last week, I headed out to ADAC here in Atlanta for a couple of design classes. I’ve just discovered recently that the Atlanta Decorative Arts Center offers classes a few times a year and anyone can sign up to go. Of course, most of those who do hang out at ADAC are designers, but it’s now open to the public to at least go in and browse. You still have to buy through a designer though. I had never taken a complete tour of ADAC and still need to go back and do that to fully experience what it’s all about, but I got more of a taste last week.
ADAC is the premier design center in Atlanta, having opened over 50 years ago. With 550,000 s.f. and 60 showrooms, it’s a design mecca for sure and it’s just fun to hang out there and see all the gorgeousness and inspiration that is ADAC.
(both pics above from Windsor Smith portfolio)
The first session I signed up for was to hear Windsor Smith. She’s a very famous designer from CA and it was fun to see her in person and take a look at her designs and new product lines. She’s just recently launched a brand new furniture line with Century and we were invited into the showroom after the class and got to see many pieces in person. Her style is fresh, modern, yet traditional and I loved seeing pics of her work on the screen. If you don’t know her, click over to her website to see what all she does. Amazing stuff! She’s even got an online service called “Room in a Box”, that sounded really innovative and fun.
She was very friendly and we got to chat with her in person for a few minutes.
In the Century furniture showroom, we were treated to lunch and sat on the furniture (they were brave to do that!) and visited awhile. It was fun to see several of my blog/design friends who were also there.
Mirror in the Century showroom.
Loved this two toned piece from Windsor’s Century collection. Fun to see these painted pieces hitting the mainstream now.
Sofa and pillows
Beautiful lighting
White chair and side table.
Loved this side tiered table.
And really loved this iron round tree table. So unique!
Bed and bedding.
Windsor’s design, coffee table in periwinkle.
Another 2 toned painted piece. DIY bloggers have been doing this look for a few years now, so which came first?
Beautiful upholstered bed.
Windsor along with some folks from ADAC and Clint Smith, Editor of Veranda Magazine, is to the left of Windsor.
After lunch and the Century showroom preview, I headed out with my friend, Cindy, to check out the Travis fabric showroom.
Cindy and her husband, Jeff, have a fabric line at Travis and Company, inspired by the beach and Hwy. 30A area of Florida, where she does a lot of design work. It was fun to check out Cindy’s fabrics in person at Travis. Cindy and Jeff live in Pike Road, AL, but come to ADAC often.
Spotted this chair in the Duralee showroom and love this modern fabric on a wingback chair. Look how you can update an older chair just with new fresh fabric!
Also showcased at ADAC is Behind the Windows, a collaboration of design with local highly acclaimed Atlanta designers and the furniture showrooms of ADAC. It was fun to browse these design inspirations too.
I don’t have all the designers who did each of these rooms, but you can find out more about them all on the link above. I hope you enjoyed this brief tour of ADAC Atlanta and got some inspiration from this design world. I know I did!

I haven’t gotten an email from you (or ant other blogs) for about three weeks. I thought maybe I had accidentally unsubscribed so I resubscribed to all my blogs. Still no emails. I’ve given up and just put them all on my favorites and go in manually. Glad to know I’m not the only one with the problem. Thanks for your amazing blog!
Amy says
I’ve had the same thing happen. Resubscribed with no luck. Now getting everything through bloglovin, but I don’t like it as well. 🙁

I love the white chair and the modern fabric wingback chair–I must have a thing for chairs this morning! What I am just really ADORING though, is the name Windsor Smith–how cool is that?!? Love it! Thanks so much for sharing another beautiful space filled with great ideas!

I have been a subscriber to your blog for many years. I have not received a email in a few weeks and resubscribed to no avail. I only get your uupdates when I see them on facebook. I know this is must be very frustrating for you and the other bloggers effected by this glitch.
Doreen@househoneys says
I haven’t been getting updates for a while Rhoda. It’s frustrating, but since we’ve recently moved I really haven’t had much time to read too many blogs anyway so I haven’t mentioned it to any of the bloggers I follow including you. I see it’s a common problem these days.
You look so pretty btw! Sounds like you had a fabulous day,

Still not getting emails from your blog; I’ve had the same experience as those who commented above.

Oh my goodness! Looks like you must have had so much fun touring those beautiful rooms. So many gorgeous pieces of furniture. Love the last photo of the beautiful tablescape with orchids and a peacock table runner. Kathy

Hey, Can you tell me anything about the sofa in the 5th photo from the end? How can I track that down? It is stunning!! What fun you must have had looking at all those gorgeous showrooms!
Rhoda says
Hi, Catherine, sorry that was part of the Windows project and I don’t have any source list on that. I can see if I can find out later, but I have no idea which brand it is.
Terri says
I’m getting your emails again now but I didn’t get them for about 2 weeks.
Sue says
I didn’t get the blog posts for about 2 weeks, but whatever you did fixed it for me – I am now receiving them in my email daily again
thanks

I gradually stopped getting emails from those I follow during the 2 weeks of April when I was on the road traveling through the Southeastern U S. It was only when I was back home that I discovered it wasn’t just me not getting the emails. I’ve solved the problem by using Bloglovin to follow my favorite blogs. You can add blogs to Bloglovin even when there isn’t a button for it on the blog.

Rhoda, I have not received any of your e-mails for a bout a week
Marianne A. says
Still not getting your emails, or those of a few other blogs I subscribe to. I re-subscribed just yesterday, but did not receive any updates today, so it’s still not working.
Patty Lucas says
Rhoda I read your blog through Thrifty Decor Chick but I was “spoofed” several weeks ago and no longer get a lot of the blogs I subscribed to. I used to get over 100 E-mails a day and now I’m lucky if I get 25. AOL couldn’t help, our virus company couldn’t help either. If I go to reup my blogs, it tells me I am already subscribed so I can’t do it. Debbiedoos helped me today by sending me to blogloving, incidentally she was the only one who tried to help me and for that I will be eternally grateful. Hope that helps.

Fabulous images and inspiration, you are so lucky to get to hang out at so many design places. I have been pinning away these images and spotted and idea for my mothers vintage trays…in fact I might even have an idea for a post… Look at the trays beside the mirror in image No. 8. I have lots of those of my mums and never thought about it but they would look great on a wall or maybe even on my bookshelves.
Thank you Rhoda for sharing and inspiring…Yes I think bloggers came up with the painted furniture and shops are now following.
Lee 🙂

Still not getting your emails so I signed up for them on Bloglovin and that worked for awhile, but now I see your posts are not thru on that email either :-(.
GeNell says
Correction Rhoda…….your post was on blog login. I guess I was still asleep and missed it!
Brenda Hichborn says
Hi Rhoda – I have not been receiving your emails for a few weeks. I miss having them in my inbox! My mornings start out with you and my cup of coffee.
Rhoda says
Hi, Brenda, at this point there is nothing else I can do. I’m going to advise everyone to sign up for their favorite blogs in a reader like BlogLovin or Digg. Those work well too.
Janet says
I’m not getting email updates anymore 🙁
Joan says
Yah! I’m getting the blogs again. Don’t know how or why, but I’m happy! Thanks Rhoda
Mary in Idaho says
About two weeks ago my virus program blocked some of my favorite blogs from opening. I received your email that day, but when I tried to open your blog (and some others) a window came up that said your specific blog was corrupted. In two days it was OK again; but has been opening slower and moving around in your blog is slower now. At this point I don’t know if it is my computer or the blogs. I won’t give up, Rhoda.
Mary in Idaho says
I should mention that I have continued receiving your emails. For which I’m thankful.
