Anthropologie Chair Inspiration

I‘m joining with Tracy today over at Comfort and Luxury for a fun and friendly little competition (not really a contest, just the fun part) choosing a chair and putting together a design board for it.  The guidelines are this:  There were 2 to choose from and I opted to use the Antwerp chair, cause it was just so darn cute, with it’s classic frame and funky fabric.  I love the combo!  I threw this together really quick without a lot of time put into it, so keep that in mind too. 🙂
Antwerp
The Antwerp chair from Anthropologie
Bertram
And the Bertram chair from Anthropologie.  We were to choose ONE of these and design an inspiration board around it.

Now, you’ll notice I didn’t necessarily go for the budget on this, since it was make-believe and pure fantasy, but I think this is a really whimsical room.  Maybe not one that I’d want to live with long term, but I had fun putting all of these elements together.  That wall color would be way to bright to live with in real life personally, but it looks good with the chair.  Check out that whimsical chandelier though, I thought it was perfect with the chair.

You can click on the board to go directly to Polyvore and see all the pieces in the set and where they came from:

And if you’d like to see what others came up with, go on over to Tracy’s and check them all out. I think it will be fun to see how we will all interpret differently the same piece of furniture and make a statement with it.

This friendly competition was started by PK, a fairly new blogger that I’ve just recently met, at Room Remix, and she passed the hosting to Tracy this week.  Check out her blog too, they are both very fun!

Tomorrow is the BIG DAY at the Holiday House! I look forward to seeing some of you there. It’s going to be fantastic.  Lots of pics to come!

I love that chandelier, Rhoda! It seems to pick up the colors in the chair perfectly! I love seeing how everyone interprets their inspiration.

That is a very fun room! I agree that the paint would be too bright for long-term, but maybe could be an accent wall or rug or something because it really made me just smile to see that pretty, bright blue(?) color!

Very cool chairs. Love those Rhoda. Neat play along too. 🙂 Hope all is well in your neck of the woods. I’m heading past your way next week. We are moving from Indiana next Friday and officially becoming “Floridians” full time. Shhh…still a secret on my blog though. Ha ha! I’m not spilling the beans for another week maybe. Yes, moving from our hometown to Naples, FL full time. It’s scary and exciting all at the same time. Wish us luck! It sure will be fun to have the beach down the street day in and day out from now on. I’ll be blogging the move so you’ll have to stop by and see how its going in a couple of weeks.

    Hugs girl…

I think it is a great room! Perfect if you live somewhere cold and dreary like Portland or Seattle. What a fun game! The chandy is my favorite, after the chair.

Love the room! I really like bold colors like that, and if I had my own home, that would definitely be the perfect room for me! Thanks for sharing and have a great day!

Oh, Rhoda, what a fun room! If I were a single girl, I would move right in! Actually, my husband probably wouldn’t object to much here except for that over-the-top girlie chandelier, which I think accents the space perfectly… but I would still keep this room just for me. Thanks for playing… and for the nice compliment on your post.
Good luck and have fun tomorrow!

I am member of Polyvore too! Don’t you just love it?! And that chair from Anthropologie is just amazing! I went to the Summit the other day and saw it in the corner. I couldn’t help myself, I just had to go sit down and try it out! It wasn’t quite as comfortable as it was beautiful, though! ha!
