Happy Thursday to you all! I’ve got a fun little Fall recipe to share with you today that I just made this week. It all started when my mom heard about these apple dumplings from a lady friend of hers up in the NC mountains. Seems she had gotten The Pioneer Woman’s recipe for Apple Dumplings and tried them and loved them, so she was telling my mama about them. So mom asked me to print off the recipe for her to try. I did and she made them a couple of weeks ago and they were SO good. It reminded me that I had eaten this recipe before, I think it might have been a Pampered Chef one from several years ago, but anyway, Ree, the Pioneer Woman, has the recipe on her site, so I’ll just send you over there to print it off.
It’s the easiest recipe ever! You just need 2 good sized apples, 2 packages of crescent rolls, the pop’em type, plenty of butter, cinnamon, vanilla, sugar and a Mountain Dew. Yep, a Mountain Dew. Such a weird combo, I know, but it works!
I didn’t take pics of every step of the recipe, but it’s so easy you will have no problems making this one.
Pop open those crescent rolls and it will make a 13×9 pan of Apple Dumplings. I suppose you could cut it in half if you only wanted to do 8 at a time. They are great left over for breakfast too. Ask me how I know? With coffee. YUM!
Ready to go in the oven, with the Mountain dew around the edges. I will tell you I only used one stick of butter and about a cup of sugar. Trying to cut back a little bit of the not good for you stuff, but man these are delicious and it tastes like you slaved over them for hours!
If you want them extra juicy, add the extra butter and maybe a bit more Mountain Dew, so you have plenty of juice to dip over them. Right out of the oven!
I added a scoop of vanilla ice cream to ours and these were SO tasty. Mark loved them too! If you want an easy Fall apple dessert that tastes so good and will have people asking for the recipe, give these a try! They are without a doubt one of the easiest recipes to make!

I can’t believe it’s been that long and wow, at how Ree has grown and evolved with all the cook books, cooking show on the Food Network, and now The Mercantile and Boarding House opened in her hometown. She’s accomplished a lot and I think it’s so cool that it all started with her blog!

HI, Carol, I bought Honey Crisp apples from Aldi and I did not peel them. I don’t think you need to peel, but that’s a preference.

That sounds good too! My sister made one with orange juice, so there must be many versions of this one.

This is a favorite dessert at our house, I’ve also used canned apple pie filling instead of fresh apples. Delicious!
