Atlanta is a wonderful city for design! Â I had the pleasure last week of attending the 46th annual ASO Decorators’ Show House here in Atlanta, Chateau Soleil. Â It’s always fun to see the designs and styles of each of the rooms in these beautiful show houses and I loved the tour. Â These homes are always big and grand and not at all in the realm of how most of us live, but it is still fun to see them and get inspired.
The 2015 show house was built in 1998 and sits on 2 lush acres on Northside Drive. With European-style craftsmanship, it evokes a French feel and named Chateau Soleil for it’s golden yellow exterior. Â Architectural designer William T. Baker is renowned for this type aesthetic.
I will not try to comment on all the pictures, but I will attempt to name the designers of each space and hope that I get them right. Â I have a book that I’m going by and my memory on which rooms are which from winding through this large and stately home.

I hope you enjoyed this beautiful tour of the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra Show House 2015! Â I didn’t get pics of every single space, but there were other designers involved in the show house too.
It’s always fun to visit and if you are in Atlanta, it’s open this weekend, through May 10th, so try to get by for a tour.
Oh that kitchen takes my breath away! The whole house is stunning. Will this home be home for sale shortly? And how cool if the owner got to keep it just as it sits, right now. I love designers houses it’s a nice way to get some really great ideas that you many not have thought about before.
Dana, I think the house will be for sale, but I’m pretty sure all the contents are removed and sold as well.
It would be nice to attend the sale of all the beautiful decor and furnishings.
There is just too much going on in this home for my taste.
With showhouses, each space is designed separately with no sense of flow from room to room. It’s as if a different family with different tastes and styles lived in each room It’s artificial and waaaay over the top in some cases and not practical for a “real” home. But understanding that, you can get some creative thinking and ideas worth repeating.
That wallpaper in the study was something quite special.
Yes, that is definitely right, Patricia. You just have to look at these large showhouses as inspiration, not as a total place you’d want to live. Lots of over the top ideas, but fun to look at.
Love this house Rhoda. I saw so many things I can incorporate in my own small townhouse. And the black and white bathroom…adore as well as all the blue and white. I see they have a desk in the kitchen. I always wanted one of those and when I had one in my last house I found I did not really use it. I think cabinet and counter space would be my choice now. Or big open shelves to display serving pieces etc. Thanks for sharing! This is a post I will be coming back to for ideas.
The show house in the ‘Ham ran through last weekend. Same principle and scale of this, but I didn’t make it this year. Always a feast for the eyes and a tad ‘over done’ but interesting. I have to say I had one ‘ewww’ moment in these photos… the bookcase and books in close proximity to the toilet… an errant flush with the lid up could spew out nastiness all over those lovely books. LOL 🙂
LOL, Becky, I thought the same thing! Not practical, but a bit innovative.
Hi Rhoda,
I love the Show house. I have a couple of questions in regards to the resources for the dining from Boxwood Gardens Group. May I have the name of the vendor for the dishes. blue is my signature color of my life:). I must have those dishes!. Thank you for all you do! You were my first introduction to the world of design and décor blogs.
HI, Lisa, I loved that dining room too! I don’t have all the sources listed in the book they gave out, but here’s their phone #, so I bet if you call, someone could tell you the pattern:
Address: 100 E Andrews Dr NW, Atlanta, GA 30305
Phone:(404) 233-3400
It always fun to look at your Blog because of the variety of things that you post. I absolutely love reading it every day. Thanks for keeping it so interesting. In today’s Blog, I think I liked the outdoor spaces the best. When I saw some rooms decorated without much color I found myself thinking about your aqua front door & the colors in your home. I like colors better.
Thank you, Linda, I’m so glad because I do like to mix things up to make it fresh.
How cute and clever to use a wedding style ballgown for a headboard in the nursery! Love it!
Thanks for sharing!
Loved that nursery too, it was so elegant and girly!
That was beautiful! Thanks for sharing with us. The artwork throughout the home was stunning. And the breakfast room designed by Vern Yip, loved it. I miss seeing Vern on HGTV.
LOVE the bold use of color–especially in all those awesome fabrics!! Those lovely green kitchen chairs–oh my! 🙂 However. what on earth were they thinking with that creepy, naked”ish” child over the fireplace? LOL!
Sofia, I had to go look. I know, not for me either, but designers have their own interpretation of things.
Re: Brass…..It just goes to show you, if you wait long enough, it comes back in style! lol!! Now I’m rethinking changing all my light fixtures, mirrors, door knobs, etc.!
I really loved the office pantry and laundry. Some of the rooms looked disconnected from others, but that was because so many different people were in on the project, so it’s somewhat understandable. However, I thought every room looked good if you take them all separately.
Atlanta sure gave us lots of inspiration! Congratulations, ASO, on a fabulous show house. I love the dining room sideboard! xo Leslie
Well, I have to say that I love the outside of this house. It’s beautiful! I also really loved the patio and pool areas. I didn’t like much about the inside decor, except perhaps the dining room area. The artwork didn’t do a thing for me. I’m sure somebody likes it! Thank you for taking all those pictures Rhoda!
Holy wow. Those designers really went all out on this show. Agree w/others on the perceived disjointed flow of all the differing design directions, but a house of this size can probably pull it off “in person”. The best rooms keep the eye looking forward for the next surprise, with visual rest stops strategically arranged. This house accomplishes that in most of the rooms. The noisiest stand-out in the house, IMO, is the grand entry. It seems almost kitschy compared to the rest. But all lovely, and thanks for sharing.
Very nice home. The rooms are so spacious. TFS.
Rhoda,
Thank you for including my kitchen in your blog.
I appreciate the wonderful comments made about my kitchen!
Happy Mother’s day!
This house is absolutely beautiful! It’s absolutely staggering the design decisions that people make that can really make a room pop. Often it’s just one small design change.
I love visualising future projects and building designs and I would love to work on something as beautiful as this in future.
We can tell you from behind-the-scenes of this event that it was a blast to work with Danielle Rolls on the blue and white bathroom! We’re actually in the process of installing similar cabinets in her personal home because she loved them so much in the showhouse. If you weren’t able to make it out this year, don’t miss it when it comes back around!
