Nearly every January, I try to hit the gift show at the Atlanta Americasmart. Â It’s always fun to go down there and be inspired by so many things and shopping some clothing sample sales and the cash and carry jewelry floor is a big draw too. Â This time, I took my friend, Heidi, with me and we were there for about 4 hours. Not nearly enough time to see everything in these 3 huge buildings, but it was fun nonetheless. This was just a couple of days before I left for my cruise, so I was thinking cruise related items too. Â I didn’t buy much, but found a couple of things.
There are so many great home decor floors to look at too, but unfortunately we had limited time to do more the day we went.
Enduring Atlanta morning traffic to get downtown is something I don’t have to deal with often, but we made it down there and got parked and ready to explore. Â This is my friend, Heidi, who went with me. Â She had never been before, so I warned her how overwhelming it is at the mart.
This is a glimpse of just how big it is. See how small those people look way down there. There are multiple floors in 3 huge buildings like this, full of things to see and vendors to visit.  We barely scratched the surface and only made it into 2 buildings and that was fast, in the 4 hours we were there.  You really need to  have days to get around the mart during a gift show.
One more thing. I’ve mentioned before that this is the wholesale market for Atlanta. Â This is where buyers come from all over the country to shop for their stores, so it’s not open to the public. I do have a business license, so can get in here and as a blogger, it’s such a fun place to go for inspiration, not to mention the sample sales.
We can see new products just coming to the market here and it’s so fun to walk around and take it all in. I didn’t get names of all of these vendors, so I’ll just share a few pics along the way.
I loved these candles and how stylish they are.
From stripes to polkadots and more, candles were the theme of this space.
Rustic frames and reclaimed wood art are still going strong at the mart. Â This trend has been around awhile now, so it will be interesting to see what’s next.
Christmas is still at the mart too and you can see the latest and greatest in Christmas decor. Â In January, I’m definitely completely over thinking about Christmas decorating, but it’s still fun to look.
Beautiful ornaments and trees.
I still love a cute rabbit or two and see that spring items, including birds and cloches are still going strong.
I really loved these vintage inspired little trees and garland with mercury glass that look like old style.
Cotton boll wreaths look to be very hot, a nod to the South.
These chalkboard globes were pretty cute too. Â What would you do with one of these?
A large bunny topiary caught my eye, as do all Spring things. Â This time of year has me yearning for spring blooms.
It was great fun to look up my friend, Lucy, who is launching her jewelry collection at the mart, expanding her horizons. Â Very proud of my Birmingham friend!
I only picked up a few things this time, in the clothing sample sales and showed you this mesh long sleeve top with camisole underneath. Â I bought them at separate places and total was $25 for both. Â I’ll enjoy this ensemble with many things.
I picked up this coral and white print shirt for $15, which will be a nice addition to my spring/summer wardrobe. Â The brand is Felicitie.
I found this straw hat at a cash and carry sale too for $5, perfect for my cruise.
It’s hard not to go a little bonkers on the jewelry cash and carry floor, but I managed to only pick up these items. Â The trio of necklace, earrings, and bracelet were $29 for all. Â The silver bangles were $5 each and the watch $10. Â Can you blame me for shopping this way?
What a fun time for you and Heidi at the Mart, looking and shopping! My daughter was just there with her company from New Jersey showing their new “stuff”!!! About a week after that she had to fly to Las Vegas for their next big show. It’s fun for me when you show how huge that whole Mart is….so many floors and the people look like ants! Love your new purchases too! Thanks so much for sharing!
Those candles are fun….I hope to come across them in stores.
I took an interior design course at our local community college, and we went to the Mart on a field trip. It is truly mind boggling!! And definitely a day for comfortable shoes!!
Congrats Rhoda, you found some real bargains at the sample sale, love the jewelry choices, especially the necklace set. It was always such fun to shop the sample sales, I found many a bargain for my home, shop and myself over the years of shopping the sample sales.
Looks like a fun, fun time! Market week is always exciting, especially to get inspired, and to pick up some great things from the sample sales. Love your finds, Rhoda. And so exciting to have your friend launch her jewelry line. Always such a treat to visit you, friend. xo Lidy

I rarely post–but read often and Rhoda, that lipstick is a PERFECT color for you! Makes your eyes color just pop. Can you share the color/brand?
HI, Paula, now I can’t remember which color that is. I have a couple of new ones, a Calvin Klein in a black and white tube called Alarm (600). I think it’s that one
Love that jewelry trio! Is it available online anywhere?
HI, Sharon, I don’t think so. The jewelry at the mart is so extensive, I don’t even know the name of it. So sorry!
Hi, I’m planning to go to the Atlanta Mart on Corporate Friday in Building 3. I’ve never been, can you tell me more about the sample sales?
Thank you.
Hey, Leslie, I’m definitely not an expert and really just found the sample sales by walking around and looking for signs that were out. Most put Sample sales in the windows so you know they have things available. Hopefully you’ll find some!
