Our sweet baby Parker is 3 weeks old this week and I’m heading down this week with my parents and we finally get to lay eyes on this bundle of joy that has joined our family. We couldn’t be more excited to see her in person, I can assure you!
So, here are a few updates from the last 3 weeks for you to enjoy!
Lauren and Philip bring home baby Parker. Stickers, the dog is not looking too happy here. I asked how the dog as handling having a baby around and Lauren said, so far she is totally ignoring her. Hopefully, they will bond as the baby gets older. Stickers is a sweet doggie.
Lauren and baby getting some much needed sleep, I’m sure.
Proud daddy, Philip and baby Parker still at the hospital. Several of you have mentioned how she looks like her daddy and yes, she does. It was a hot topic of conversation while Lauren was pregnant that this baby would more than likely take after the daddy’s side of the family, because those genes are SO strong in the other 2 grandchildren in the family (Philip’s sister’s kids. So, no one was surprised when she came out looking like she did. Luckily, both mom and dad are good looking people, so it’s a win-win either way!
Isn’t she sweet? Those lips, oh how I love those cupid lips.
Caught in a smile, so sweet.
A really good shot of those pouty, perfect lips.
My sister, Renee is still down there and she is one proud grandmother. I also hear there has been major discussions going on as to the right timing on giving Parker a pacifier. Lauren says not yet and the rest of the females in the family down there are saying….give her a pacifier already! We’ll see how that goes.
Parker posed in a basket.
I can’t wait to get down there with my camera too and try to capture some great shots. You can be sure I’ll be sharing all the family happenings in New Orleans when we get back. It will be a major fast trip, but I’m so happy my parents are going down to see her too. I want to take a shot of all 4 generations and get that documented. What a blessing!

Congratulations. She is so so so beautiful.
God bless
Congrats to your entire family on the birth of this beautiful baby! I can’t wait to see your mom and dad with the baby! Such an awesome trip! Safe travels!

God be with you as you travel. I am excited to see pictures of all of you, but I especially can’t wait to see the great-grandparents meeting that precious baby for the first time! That picture of Lauren and Parker sleeping is absolutely beautiful. Such a gorgeous family! Congratulations to you all.

She is so precious, Rhoda! Have a great trip! xo
She is absolutely gorgeous! Enjoy your visit and snuggles!
She is so cute, and she sure does look like her daddy. My second daughter never wanted a pacifier, but my first had to ‘leave them for Santa’ to ever get rid of them at 2+. If she doesn’t seem to want one, I wouldn’t start the habit because it’s a hard one to break.
I agree 100% about the pacifiers, my children and my granddaughter never used them, it was great, one less thing to worry about losing or habit to break. And I agree 110% about how cute Miss Parker is !
Thanks for the update and pictures. What a sweet baby!
I have three small children and they never wanted a pacifier. It seems like a hard habit for some to break, so I am glad we never went there.
I wanted to establish a good breastfeeding routine with my children during those first weeks. I knew I could offer more comfort than a pacifier.
I know advice is given with love, but please allow new mama Lauren to feel confident in her decisions.
Hi Rhoda! File this under “It’s a Small World” – I discovered your blog one day a few months ago while linking through another blog. I scroll down a few pages and there is a post featuring Lauren and the nursery. I worked with Lauren when she was here in Marietta! Enjoy your visit, and tell her and Phillip congrats from the girls here at Downey & Cleveland. 🙂
Congrats on a healthy baby..that is the most important issue.
Safe travels.
What a precious post from the proud Aunt!!!! 4 generations is quite a gift and I’m sure your momma will be over the moon when holding that baby! And I can’t help but laugh when you say “down to New Orleans”
Cute pics! That will be neat to have pictures with the great grandparents. Please tell Lauren a baby doesn’t have to have a pacifier and good for her for holding out.
Such a sweet baby. Love that last photo! Congrats to all of you 🙂
What a blessing indeed! Safe travels! I bet your mom can’t wait to get her hands on that little one!
She’s precious! I love that you’re going to get a photo of the generations together….you’ll treasure that photo forever.
So sweet!
We waited a little bit (I think I lasted a week!) to give our first a pacifier, and with the second we were all for it from the get-go and that little stinker would never take one! Parenting is always an adventure! 🙂
So precious. There’s nothing quite like a new baby in the family. I don’t understand the worry about pacifiers. I remember one blogger who was so upset because she couldn’t get her baby to take one. Neither one of my kids used a pacifier, and we were proud of it. A different generation, I guess.
Oh my goodness, what sweet, sweet pictures. The family is just beautiful. I hope you enjoy every second of your visit. Have you seen the generational pictures on Pinterest where each generation is pictured in a frame that is held by the next generation? Here is an example: http://www.pinterest.com/pin/497366352568694499/ I think it’s such a cool idea, but I’ve no grandbaby to try it with yet. Maybe someday! Enjoy your trip.
