Browsing at ADAC in Atlanta

You’ve heard me talk about ADAC here in Atlanta before and I am still learning my way around the place, but it is fun to go and be inspired by all the design beauty that is there.  I recently went to an event with some design gals who did a tour of ADAC, so I thought I’d share it with all of you.

We visited several showrooms and there is always so much beauty to see.  Most of this furniture is way out of my price range, but it’s fun to look.

Sculptural art at ADAC.  I joined a group of folks, around 25 of us who did the tour that morning.

These 2 cute and vivacious young women from Gordon Dunning design firm here in Atlanta served as our tour guides for the morning.

We started in one space and now I can’t remember the name of it, but it had some beautiful pieces.

Next stop was Century Furniture, a space I have visited before.

Beautiful and classical pieces.

Duralee Fabrics is also inspiring with so many beautiful fabrics to touch and feel.

They also  have wallpaper too.  ADAC is open to the public now, but you still have to buy through a designer.

Last stop was Peacock Ally, with really lovely linens and bedding.

I like to attend classes and browse ADAC, even though it’s a bit out of my comfort zone.  I’m not in the high-end furniture zone, but it’s definitely a fun place to visit.

Hey Rhoda — your job is so cool! Love to see what catches your eye on these jaunts! BTW, Duralee has a factory outlet just a few miles from my office — I stop in all the time, just to look and touch! It’s hit or miss as far as shopping for fabric (usually discontinued or unpopular designs and colorways), but I occasionally score BIG!!!

I am not nor will I ever be a decorator, but I AM a consumer, and I can’t help but notice all the tan, beige, cream and black… a color trend I don’t think I’ll be embracing, but really no big deal since I don’t redecorate every few years. I do like to live vicariously through you and other bloggers. Love your posts.

Nice tour! They had a Peacock Alley store in Dallas when I lived there! It was fun to visit and touch all those incredibly soft linens! I think I maybe could have afforded a pillowcase…LOL!
