Christmas 2010 Memories

I trust you all had a wonderful and peaceful Christmas. We certainly did and how about that White Christmas we got right here in the South? First time ever, I do believe! What fun that was. How far reaching was the snow, did you get snow too?!

This was our dining room view on Christmas Day!

Big puffy snowflakes softy falling, it was magical to see.
I never dreamed we would actually get a White Christmas.  I thought that was just a song that we sing this time of year. 🙂Here’s our backyard this a.m.  At least the sun is out now, but still not a great day to get out and about, so I think I’ll just chill one more day.   We ate a nice meal of roast beef, twice baked potatoes, sauteed green beans and mushrooms, fancy salad, Mrs. Shubert’s rolls, and The Pioneer Woman’s chocolate sheet cake, so we did indeed have plenty to eat.

We ate cinnamon rolls and drank coffee.

All in all, a nice and peaceful day.  So much to be thankful for and I am.

I think I’ll have another cinnamon roll.  🙂  This is PW’s recipe too, my first time making these, but definitely not the last.

Did you have a memorable day too?  I hope you did!  One more week until a new year is upon us.

How did that happen?

Please pray for sweet blog friend, Edie (Life in Grace), and her family who  lost their beautiful lake-front home in a house fire last week. I can’t even imagine the heartache, worry and pain that they are dealing with, so I ask you to lift this family up in prayer as they move forward from this horrible tragedy. Thankfully, the whole family is safe and sound, but losing all your material possessions has to be so difficult.

We had snow flurries here in Southeast Alabama last night and a some this morning. Absolutely beautiful if you do not have to drive in it. Your yard is a gorgeous winter wonderland.

We didn’t get any snow, but it was cold. The cinnamon rolls look yummie. Well wishes for the new year and I’ll keep your friend Edie and her family in my prayers as well. OH love Josh Groban. I love his version of O Holy Night.

Beautiful snow. I have been so worried about Edie since I saw something on Twitter about the fire. I just can’t believe it. She is such a wonderful, positive person. I’m praying for them.

We’re in Mass. and Christmas gathering #3 is being canceled since we are waiting to be slammed with 14-20 inches with blizzard-like conditions. This will surely be a blessing for all those parents whose kids will be bored with their toys by this afternoon and they can then head out into the snow. 🙂

Sounds like a perfect day. Love the pretty snow, it definitely makes it feel like Christmas. I will keep Edie and her family in prayer, such a terrible loss. Hugs, Marty

It looks like you had a wonderful holiday. We had a wonderful one too; although peaceful is not a word I’d use to describe it. It was wild, hectic, and loud…but I loved every minute of it.

Merry Christmas to you Rhoda! isn’t it great having a white Christmas? Well, we are bracing for this monster blizzard headed north to Boston and beyond – I think starting late today and into tomorrow…work will be a big question mark as I really DISLIKE driving in hideous conditions!! We had a nice day yesterday too…:))

Can you believe it, Rhoda? Our very first White Christmas here in Birmingham. I am going to post pictures later, and then I am going to link back over here to your post. My out of town friends won’t believe it 😀

And it is snowing again this morning! Take care and stay warm!

    XOXO

    Dear Rhoda,

It is still snowing here and will continue into Monday before stopping. I’m so happy to know you enjoyed your ‘ White Christmas’ surrounded by family. I am so saddened to hear about the fire that took Edie’s beautiful home. I join you in prayers. Please let me know if there is anything else I can do.

    Your Friend,
    Deborah

    Merry Christmas to you, Rhoda!

Here in North Carolina, the snow started after dark. . . but it kept coming after that! We woke up this morning to six inches–a true Winter Wonderland.

So glad all the kids were with you for Christmas. I’m sure that made your husband happy!

Thanks very much for sharing the news about Edie. I haven’t read her blog in awhile, so I didn’t know. As you said, it’s a blessing that her family all escaped unscathed, but it must be terribly difficult to lose all your possessions. My heart goes out to her.

I can’t beleive that you had a white Christmas while I had a brown one here in NH! What’s up with that? Although we are about to be hit with a blizzard and 20 inches of snow. We’ll have a white day after Christmas.
