Christmas Craft: Winter Snow Bowl

Today, it’s time for another Holiday Home link party and I’m joining my friend, Kate, for Christmas crafts.

This is sort of a craft, in that you will need a few supplies from the craft store, but it is so easy to put together, I can’t wait to show you how adorable it is!

Did you happen to catch this beautiful photo in the December Better Homes and Gardens?

BHG snow bowl

How pretty is this?

A glass bowl, layered with faux snow, fresh greens and a pair of cute birdies, complete with nest and glass orb eggs.  My sister saw it first and decided that we should make one.  So, make one we did!

nest materials

She had the faux snow, but picked up a birds nest and birds at Michael’s.

We already had the pretty colored small glass balls, our egg stand-ins.

And I already had a pretty footed glass bowl to put it all in.  First, add the faux snow in the bottom. Then, snip and layer in some fresh greens.  We used 2 different ones for texture.

nest and birds

Carefully place in the nest and add the birds on either side.

And there you have it!  A simple and completely adorable Christmas craft that can go anywhere for the Holidays.

My sister had a party at her house Friday night and needed a dining room centerpiece, so this is what she put together.  She grouped the glass bowl with 2 other things and made a gorgeous natural centerpiece with more fresh magnolia.

Her Ballards burlap tablecloth went on first, then bunched fabric for everything to sit on.  Staggered heights give it all a nice look.

Real Christmas tree in a pot with glass balls was one component.

Votives were scattered around the table too and the bunched fabric looks so pretty with fresh greens on top.  She does a great job with centerpieces.

The lantern came from Wuslu, an online shopping site with some great items.  I’ve done a giveaway with them before and you can find some great decor items there.   The candle is battery operated and has cranberries inside for a realistic Christmas look.

Isn’t it all gorgeous?  I love how this table turned out!

Are you doing any Christmas crafts this year?  I hope you’ll join my friend, Kate, in her Christmas craft link party today.    You are sure to be inspired by all the creativity.

I can assure you that this one is SO easy to do.  Hope you’ll give it a try!

I’m joining Melissa’s Craft party also!

So lovely my friend, and seasonless if you ask me, just remove the ornaments and it works perfectly for your spring tablescape too! Thanks for linking up to the party, it starts tomorrow at 8 a.m. EST !

That’s so funny! My Nana and I did this same thing this weekend! She saw the same article in the waiting room at the hospital (she’s been very ill) so we we made her a bowl and me one too, to make her happier! It’s here on my blog http://house-pour.blogspot.com/2011/12/christmas-bird-craft.html

We used cardinals to make it christmasy and little ornaments as our eggs too!! Haha, I love how cute and easy it was!!
