One of the easiest things to do for a Holiday centerpiece or tablescape is floating candles. I mentioned how easy these are to put together and when I show you, you’ll understand JUST how easy they are. Nothing to them. I’ve had my candle cylinders for a few years now, in 3 different sizes. But, I know you can find clear glass cylinders like this at most any craft store, so get yourself at least 3 in different heights to make your table interesting.
Mine are about 6″, 8″, and 10″ tall and the great thing is, you can change these up to anything at all. I can see adding sliced lemons or limes or pretty sparkly beads, the skies the limit.
I bought fresh cranberries in a bag last year during the Christmas sales and they have been in my freezer all year. So, all I did was get them out and use them. I snipped a few sprigs of holly from the bushes in my yard and put that in first, then I added the cranberries. Fill with water about 1/2 to 3/4 full and plop in a floating candle. You can find floating candles at all the craft stores too, so start looking for them. I had 2 sizes with mine. The larger ones burn a LOT longer.
Then, I simply tied a pretty ribbon around the cylinder, added a small ornament and a sparkly pick to it and that’s it! And if you have several parties at your house that you’d like to use these on for this Holiday season, simply drain out the water, put the cranberries back in a freezer bag and put them in the freezer.
See how simple! Now, get out there and find some cylinders and try this at home. YOU can do this. I had so many women stop in my area and inspect those candles and they all pronounced that they could do that too.
Yes, you can! 🙂

Hey, Judy!
Yes, as Judy reminded me, I bought that tray years ago from HER yardsale in GA. It was old lady with flowers and very country looking. I gave it a cute paint job inside with green harlequins and black fleur-de-lis and added some leopard tissue paper to the outside. Got rid of the old-lady look pronto!

So pretty and yes I can do that. I’m forbidden from candle burning due to a previous accident but they would still look pretty sitting there.

Rhoda, a great place for these vases is that lovely place, the local thrift store. You can get nice big ones, short fat ones, all sizes, especially if you give yourself the entire year to find them…
And they’d be so nice year round! What’d be particularly pretty, is to do them with seashells or citrus in the summer time, running down the middle of a dining room table, or an outdoor display area/buffet….
My husband is going to choke now, I’m going to be bringing home *more* vases…lol. Thanks for the idea, Rhoda…I’ll definitely be trying this sometime soon!
