Christmas Front Porch and Mailbox

I hope you all are enjoying a long Thanksgiving weekend with your loved ones. We sure had a great Thanksgiving again this year.  Those little girls bring us so much joy!

I love this time of year and am so happy to have all my Christmas decorating done! It’s a great feeling to be going into December with my house decked out for Christmas and now I can enjoy it all month long.  I don’t do a lot of decorating outdoors, but do enjoy adding a bit of Holiday cheer to my front porch and mailbox, so in collaboration with Tree Classics, this year I’m using some of their products at my house to inspire you for Holiday decorating at your house too.

I love adding some Christmas cheer to the mailbox. Why not bring a smile to the hard working mail carriers and give them something pretty to look at.  It just starts the Christmas cheer at the curb and people know that something special is going on inside this house.  This mailbox swag from Tree Classics is the base for my mailbox and it already has red berries and gold pinecones, along with lifelike foliage. I added a pretty red bow, along with some gold and silver large plastic pinecones I had in my stash.  I also tucked in some real magnolia at the back to give it extra pizazz.

It’s just the perfect touch with red and a little bit of gold and silver.

Wired ribbons are the best when it comes to Christmas decorating, in case you haven’t discovered the ease of wired ribbon.  It bends and twists just so for those pretty poofy bows we all love.

I added a silver pinecone on one side and a gold and silver on the other side.  These had some stretchy silver twine attached to them so they were easy to add over the swag to hang on either side.  I love the addition of the fresh magnolia leaves.

Pretty pinecones add a nice glitzy touch.

Now lets move on to the front porch.  I really do keep it pretty simple out here since there is not a lot of room to add a lot of things coming up the stairs.  One day I might get industrious and decorate those stairs too, but for now simplicity is best for me.  It might be my older age kicking in, I don’t know.

I’m using Tree Classics Classic Fraser Fir Festive garland out here again this year. It’s battery operated and those little lights are pretty at night.

I love all the bright foliage on this garland with it’s lime accents, berries and pinecones.  It’s a really pretty garland and the same ones that I have on my mantel.

On the front door, this Classic Cranberry wreath from Tree Classics adds a wonderful pop of red to the turquoise front door and I love that it brings the classic colors of Christmas to my porch.

I added the two pinecones with wire along with the red and green ribbons and burlap tail. I keep things in my Christmas stash that I use over and over again.

Festive and pretty with a lime green textured ribbon over the top of the door.

At the top of the door, I added some small nails to the top of my molding and tucked in fresh magnolia.

It fills in the top of the door and adds a fresh greens touch.

Red and green definitely scream Christmas and I do like to have some of these colors around during the Christmas season. I tend to decorate more neutral with my tree in the living room and dining room, but red and green have their place at my house too.

Are you decorating yet?

I really am happy to be finished early and get to enjoy my Christmas decor for the whole month of December.  It gives me more time to do those things that are important to me, like spending time with family, friends and loved ones. That truly is the most important things to think about during the Christmas season.  It’s not about the decorating, presents, or Holiday excess. It’s about the people and traditions and the reason for this season, celebrating Christ’s birth and what that means to all of us.

Here’s to December!

So pretty, love it. I started on the fireplace mantel yesterday while watching football games. I’m keeping it pretty minimal but it does look pretty if I do say so myself. I based it on a Pinterest idea (https://www.pinterest.com/pin/5348093288070503/). As I get older, I’m finding I don’t want to drag tons of stuff out and then have to pack it away again.

Very pretty! I love the different textures! I am so excited that after 31 years of teaching, I am newly retired and can really enjoy decorating for Christmas without rushing. I am going to enjoy the process and get rid of junk that just got put back in boxes time and time again. It will feel so good to finally get that taken care of.

Pretty mailbox decor. I’ve tried MULTIPLE times in the past to decorate my mailbox, but vandals enjoy either smashing the box or destroying. I give up. AND my gift to me this Christmas is to NOT put up a tree. I am officially old! Last year I spent HOURS decorating the tree, the dining room, the mantle, etc… NO ONE saw it but me and the hubs. Decorating is great when family and friends – and especially the kids – are around to share – but when it’s just you – not so much. I’d bet my husband doesn’t even notice. LOL Any way Merry Christmas to you Rhoda and your sweet family. Anticipating seeing your decor!

Hi, Becky, oh I hate that on your mailbox! That’s so mean of the vandals, I just don’t get that meanness. I hear you on not putting up a tree. I may get there one day, but I still love the feeling of my house decorating with Christmas trees and lights, so it won’t likely stop anytime soon. Hoping to have some people by to see it, but it is definitely appreciated by kids. It’s funny, now my sis has two granddaughters and she used to go all out for Christmas decorating, but now she is running out of steam, so they won’t get to see her over the top Christmas anymore, I don’t think.
