I’ve been Fifi’d! Check out Fifi Flowers, if you haven’t already. I won one of her giveaways and will receive a set of notecards of the photo of my choice that Fifi drew and I chose my laundryroom, which goes along great with today’s post of lime green. Isn’t it so cute?! I’m excited that I finally won a drawing of hers and will cherish these and I love how she captured it so well. She has an Etsy shop too with all sorts of pretty things she has done. Thank you, Fifi!

Pottery Barn
Christmas inspiration for me comes from all sorts of places. Pottery Barn. Ballard Designs. Mary Carol Garrity’s Christmas book has been a huge inspiration for me last year and this one and I love all the natural decor shown in her book with acorns, pinecones, and real boughs of holly and spruce, and the way she mixes it in with some gold, silver and glitz. I guess you could sum it up this way. I like a mix of things and don’t think I could pick just one look. Have you noticed all the lime green out there the last few years in Christmas decor? I’ve really been attracted to that color and since I love it all year round, it only seems natural to bring it in at Christmas too, so the last couple of years, I’ve collected lots of lime green ornaments, shiny and sparkly. I also do a lot with bronze, gold & silver mixed with those natural elements and have started a little mercury glass collection, so you can see I’m all over the place when it comes to Christmas decor and you’ll see that as I share my Christmas decor. So, we’ll start in the kitchen this year…
When it comes to decorating for Christmas, don’t forget those little nooks and crannies that are so much fun to add sparkle and cheer to during the holidays. This little shelf above the sink in my kitchen is perfect for displaying my green Bordallo bunny dishes all during the year, but when Christmas comes around, it’s extra special with some added green and red of prized ornaments and keepsakes from friends. I found the Christmas Spirit sign last year at Homegoods on after-Christmas clearance and it was fun pulling it out and finding just the right spot this year. Those of you who were reading last year will remember I decorated this little shelf, but this year I changed it up a bit and I love it even more.

It fits perfectly under the shelf and I put it up with velcro. Lime green satin ribbon is used to hang the sparkly lime acorns. The topiary tree is a year-round fixture and the hand-painted Santa candlesticks were a gift from my long time friend, Wanda, years ago. I love them for their old-fashioned quality and they are perfect in my little nook.
The tiny wreath was won this year in Stacy’s, 19 Butternut giveaway and I loved all the little Christmas things she sent me. This was perfect here to add to the look. Thanks, Stacy!
A few snips of holly from the yard adds to the simple scene too.
I adore these tiny green pinecones and acorns and have been lucky enough to find a couple of packs of them in the last couple of years.
Don't Miss a Post, join my list!

Hi Rhoda, I love the reds and greens too. I have been using them for a few years now and I love how they look with the things I already have. Your kitchen self is lookin fab! Blessings, Nancy
Those are darling cards, Rhoda! I saw them the other day when I popped in at her blog. I’m glad you picked the laundry room. It’s so cute!
XO,
Sheila(Happy Blue Monday, by the way!)
What sweet and adorable images!
Rhoda, this is beautiful! I have used lime green also and this year mixed it with my brown transferware and included some ivory/white in snowflakes. I thought the lime mixed with the brown and cream really popped.
I am from Indian Springs just south of B’ham and enjoy your blog very much! Looking forward to seeing more!
Hi Ms. Rhoda…Your kitchen shelf would make a great Christmas card photo…just lovely. Also, I want to let you know my computer is sooo sick…I’ve got to try to find somebody to fix it…so if I’m missing in action, you’ll know why…I’m using my DH’s acc’t. to post this…Oh the misery! 😉 Bo
Festive! I love it!
I swear sometimes I think we were separated at birth. I can't tell you how many times I have looked at those green bunny plates. And I just looked at those green pinecone ornaments on Sat. & the only reason I didn't get them is I knew I had TJX "rewards money" waiting in my mailbox when I got back into town!!! Hope you had a good Thanksgiving!
Hi Rhoda. Your taste is exquisite. I like that you give attention to the fine details. It really stands out and adds so much. It’s lovely!
Lori
I just love it, and the ornaments hanging is just beautiful!

I love your shelf – and the laundry room drawing! How beautiful. Can’t wait to see more… 🙂
Looks like you have a beautiful start to your holiday decor this year Rhoda. I can’t wait to see the rest.

Looks great!

Congrats to you!
I love the red and the lime… such a whimsical yet elegant color scheme. I love the shelf, too. I need a whole picture… are you making us crazy on purpose?? 😉
Such beautiful things and that picture of your laundry room is absolutely adorable.
Was that your kitchen or just inspiration pics? I have a huge window in my kitchen that I need to decorate so I’m looking for inspiration!
You’re so lucky to win something from Fifi. I had hoped to get her to do a drawing of Miss Daisy, but waited too long. Another time….
Your decorations are looking good. I love the lime green color!
Hugs!
Kat
I love Fifi’s painting of your laundry room! And your Christmas decorating is looking great! I decorate in reds and golds mostly…I have just started my decorating.
I love the Christmas sign and the way you have it displayed! Thanks for the tip about not leaving out the nooks and crannies!!!
Come on over and sign up for my giveaway. It ends at 6 p.m. CST. tonight!
Just beautiful. I love Pottery Barn and Ballard Designs also. I love going to their outlet stores. And I am also loving apple green. I picked up a couple of the apple green velvet pillows there on Friday. You really do such a fabulous job. Thanks for inspiring us.
Hugs,
LeAnn:)
