Comfortable Travel Shoes: What I Wore In Italy

This post is sponsored by Easy Spirit shoes.

We just returned from Italy and I’ll have plenty to share with you about our fabulous trip, but today I’m sharing the shoes I packed. Whenever I’m packing for a trip, especially when it involves a lot of walking, I think really carefully about the shoes I will take with me. I know that comfortable walking shoes are so important when I’m on a trip like this and believe me, we walked a lot of steps each day. I want to be sure my feet can handle walking in a pair of shoes all day and these fit the bill. When Easy Spirit asked if I’d like to update my travel wardrobe and try a couple pairs of their new Spring/Summer walking shoes, I was happy to say yes! Comfort for my feet is of utmost importance when I travel, especially abroad.

I packed a few dresses and wore them to dinner and these silver flats called Kellina with metallic thread were perfect with a few of my dresses. You might not think of walking shoes as going with dresses, but why not? I don’t pack heels or anything that I can’t comfortably walk in, especially when I’m going to Europe. All those cobblestone walkways need comfortable flats.

We had a wonderful dinner out at a villa and the shoes were perfect for our evening out. They are versatile with so many outfits, from workout attire, to jeans and even dresses.

On our last night, I wore another dress and these shoes again. They really are comfortable with a very comfy gel sole. I wore them with no show socks, but you could easily not wear any socks, they are that comfy.

The soles are thick and sturdy, while the inside footbed is soft and supportive. I’ll be wearing these shoes with a lot of outfits.

This pair might be my favorite, the Mary Jane style, Venna, in Light Natural. They also come in Navy. The velcro strap makes it really easy to wear and I think they are so cute.

We did a lot of walking this day and they held up great as I walked in and out of churches, up and down cobblestone streets, through a winery, and plenty of stairs.

Italy is a great backdrop to show them off and I also love adding these to my wardrobe and wearing them often.

We also visited a winery this day and what a beautiful day it was. Whatever your busy lifestyle, either pair of these shoes are a great addition.

They can take whatever conditions you wear them in and I love both pairs, but might be a little partial to these. I’ve never had a Mary Jane style shoe, but now I do. If you’re traveling this year, definitely consider a pair of Easy Spirit walking shoes. I don’t think you can go wrong with the styles and the comfort factor. Easy Spirit offers comfort and cuteness too and as women, don’t we want both?!

Check out Kellina and Venna for yourself!

This seems weird, since I don’t know you. Only yesterday driving home I was wondering if you were still travelling to Italy with the tour you were organising. Glad to see you went. I would love to go back (1994 was first and only time I went).

Hi, Barbara, yes I did order my normal size of 8.5. Sometimes I size up in certain shoes, but these fit great.

Thanks for the post on travel shoes – every time I travel it seems there is a new and better shoe! I’d love to know where you bought your white warmer long coat – it looks light enough to be comfortable, but also warm!

HI, Laura, those shoes are great for travel. The creamy coat was last year from Talbot’s. I think it’s gone now.
