Country Living: Decorating With White

{Giveaway is Closed}

The winner is Brenda with Simple Pleasures!  Congrats, Brenda, you’ve been emailed!

Country Living has been very generous with me, sharing their new books and letting me give ONE away to a reader as well.  We all love decorating books and this is another one that is beautiful and inspiring.  Especially if you happen to like the trend of decorating with white.  But, even if you don’t there’s still plenty of color to be found in this book, so don’t let the title fool you.  Stark white and nothing else would be a little bit difficult to live with. I love color, but I also love white backgrounds and this book has some great ideas for using white and mixing it all up with patterns and textures to create a lovely home.

Decorating with White

The description on the back says:

A room dressed in white may be romantic, rustic, traditional, or contemporary, but it will never be dated.  White is simply timeless.  Through a wealth of photographs, ideas, and tips, you’ll see how easy it is to bring a white palette into any room to create fresh, comfortable spaces filled with character and warmth.

And again, the book is definitely not all about white, but gives many ideas on layering it all with color and collections.

Page 2

You’ll get plenty of ideas and inspiration from the beautiful pics on every page.

Page 3

Blue and white, a fave for many decorators for years.

Page 4

Collections are another part of the book.  I don’t have room in my house for collections this big, but they sure are prettily displayed.

Page 5

If you enjoy farmhouse style and new country decorating, you’ll love this book and will be excited to have it in your collection.

If you’d like to win a copy of the book, all you have to do is leave a comment, again telling me why you like decorating books and what you’d like to take away from this one.

I’ll choose a winner in a few days!

Christmas in July!  Is it too early to think about Christmas?  Probably so, it’s really hard to think about it with heat and humidity going on, but here are a couple things to keep in mind WHEN you get ready to start thinking about Christmas this year:

Christmas in the window

I like to do small vignettes around the house, with bits and pieces of Christmas cheer, like in the window of my kitchen.

Adding Christmas dishes is a fun way to get in the festive mood for welcoming guests to your home.  I can’t quite think about it yet, but it will be fun once again when the season arrives.

One of my sponsors,  Payless Decor is having a Christmas in July sale this week and I wanted to tell you about it.  All of the beautiful blinds in my home came from Payless Decor and I have loved them, they make my windows!

Here’s the code if you want to check out the sale:  SH10XMAS713 for 10% off anything over $100. thru 7/25.

When I need decorating inspiration, I always turn to books on my shelf, magazine pictures, and pictures on the Internet. I would love to win this book; decorating with white is fresh and classic.

I would love to win this book. Country Living is one of the best in home decor and always have beautiful homes on display. As I shop around for a new home/farm I am trying to get ideas and decor inspiration with a country/farmhouse style. Great give-away! Diane

I have inherited the bulk of both grandmothers’ antiques in my family. I have decorated in white mostly to showcase their beautiful pieces. I love Country Living and subscribe to their magazine. Their books are always full of inspiration and pretty enough to display on my coffee table!

I have always dreamt of having an all white (or black and white) house, and LOVE decorating in all-neutral! This book would be a lovely addition to my growing collection. (And it’ll look great on my shelves!)

I have been a Country Living reader forever. They appeared to have put together another beautiful book. My husband and I are hoping to downsize our home within a year. I’ve been collecting cottage inspiration design and decor and this book would be a great inspirational guide! Thank you for sharing 🙂

We just moved for the city to the country. Going a from a suburban ranch to a country cottage style home has been a huge adjustment. I am enjoying decorating our new home and love to peruse all sorts of decor magazines and books for ideas. I need all the help I can get!

I love decorating books because I need to see new and creative ways to decorate. I love the look of a well decorated space, but I don’t really have the natural ability to just do it on my own. This looks like a beautiful book and I’d love to have it.

Decorating books are great for giving me an opportunity to see color schemes and designs before just plunging in buying stuff without a clear idea of how it will look. I would love to have this book!! I believe it would give great suggestions for how white can be the base color that brings continuity to my decorating style.

I adore everything about Country Living. I bought a huge box of old Country Living books at an auction a couple years ago, and stage them on an old trunk that I use has a coffee table in my living room. I would love to add this to my collection!

The walls in my house have always been ceiling white with my trim painted accent colors. The Country Living book would give me some ideas for a few changes and updates in my old home.

Between homeschooling three girls, helping my. Husband farm over 300 acres a year , and a family music ministry where we sing most weekends, I have a hard time with extra energy to decorate and things tend to stay the same around here. Decorating books help inspire and motivate me to finally make cozy changes in our home. Thanks for the giveaway.

I love getting inspiration from decorating books and then love to have them as part of the decor under lamps and stacked on the coffee table. This looks like a good one!

This book would definitely be perfect for me! I LOVE white! Decorating books help me to put ideas together in my mind, since I am not that great of a visualizer on my own. I have a small collection of country/cottage style books that I have picked up along the way. This one would be a perfect addition.
