Feature Friday: Debbie’s Guestroom Redo

First, the giveaway winner of the Cabbages and Roses book:  Amanda from Home Front Mom is the winner!  Congrats, Amanda, hope you enjoy it.

My friend, Debbie and her daughter, Tiffany, have been hard at work redoing another bedroom in their house and it turned out SO cute.  They are empty nesters now and so she has 3 extra guestrooms to make over.  You might remember the lodge room that they did awhile ago that I shared with you. I think Debbie’s preparing for grandkids one day.  She has a boy’s room and a girl’s room now!

Rick and Debbie live out in the country in a pretty white farmhouse,  where it’s peaceful and  serene.

This is what you see on the drive to their house.  Horses are such pretty animals.

So, this guestroom got a little bit of a modern country update with bedding from Overstock and  some furniture painting and it is a whole new and improved look from what it was before.  The furniture used to be sort of a blonde colored wood.

Wall color is Sherwin Williams Ivoire, a very nice and relaxing neutral.

New lamps from Homegoods in lime green add a punch of color.

You might remember the piece over the bed that we found at Chelsea Antique Mall.  It makes a big statement in here, don’t you think?   As does this pretty pillow from TJ Maxx.  I love this and it totally makes the bed.   My friend, Kathysue, in California is using this pillow in her home too.  I almost wish I had gotten one of these before they sold out at TJ Maxx.

Freshly painted armoire in Antique White freshens up this tired old furniture.

Beadboard on the back and inside the doors and a hit of lime green for some impact when the doors are open.

Debbie used some old white window panels she already had and added this band of lime green to them, as well as the cute black pom-pom fringe.

The hope chest got a paint makeover too, as well as another birdie pillow from TJ Maxx.

They were going for coral in the bathroom and WOW, did it go a little bright, but it’s a good accent in here with the plaid shower curtain.

This is the vanity space with new artwork.

Along with some beadboard wallpaper (which you can get in my shop)  and chairrail to add some architectural interest to this space, it’s a happy little room now.

Hope you enjoyed Debbie’s guestroom makeover with me! Do you have a room that’s itching for a makeover?  Tell me about it.

My stair redo has been featured at the fabulous blog, Young House Love!  Thanks to all of you who stopped by from there to check out all the details. Hope you’ll look around and make yourself at home.

I love the art piece over the bed. I like unique art that I can hang on my walls.

Rhoda, I love the room, bright and cheerful and I just love the impact of the pillows. Another great job! Mary

What beautiful rooms! And that farmhouse is darling. I’m totally jealous of such a quite place to live.

I need a bench exactly like the one you have. Do you know where I could get one?

HI, Emily, sorry but I think her bench was a family piece she had for years, so I don’t know where to tell you to look. Try looking online at benches and something similar may come up.
