It’s always a pleasure for me to feature homes from all over the country. Isn’t it fun to see how everyone else lives, in different states? I think it is and everyone has a story. Today, I’m featuring Ashley from Domestic Imperfection (great name!), a mom to 2 boys who lives with her family in TX. I loved reading her story of meeting her hubby, how he joined the military and they moved back and forth and ended up back in TX where they were both raised. And then they started working on their house together, making it a pretty place for their family to live and grow.
Ashley’s done some fun projects and really improved her house. Go and see the Before pics if you don’t believe me. Their house has come a long, long way since they bought it!
Here’s their cute TX house from the outside.
An open porch is very welcoming.
Foyer and hallway.
Living room with hardwoods installed. Love that map on the wall.
Media center in the living room.
Breakfast counter looking into the kitchen.
Their kitchen is really a great makeover and has gotten lots of coverage in blogland. Check out that penny countertop, very cool!
I really love their kitchen makeover, it’s one of the best I’ve seen on a budget. Those two toned cabinets are really pretty.
I’m so impressed with what they did to this kitchen. To see the entire kitchen post with Before and After photos, check out that link. It’s amazing how much the kitchen changed, but they didn’t replace the cabinets at all. Paint does wonders! One of the unique things they did was add that little floating shelf under the cabinets. Love that!
The breakfast area is casual and rustic with the screened pantry door, rustic table and the planked walls.
What a pretty bay window with all that light coming in.
Guest room and craft area.
Desk in the guest room.
The guest bath got a makeover too.
As did the laundry room. Love this curtain to cover it all.
Her 2 boys share a room and it’s still in progress.
A hallway going to the master bedroom got a stencil treatment in birch trees which is really neat.
And the master bath got a fun makeover too. Love this green on the vanity. Ashley says the master bedroom is still a work in progress.
And last, I love this real life pic that Ashley shared! Can’t we all relate to this? One space is nice for pictures and the other space is trashed. That’s the way it is some days!
I hope you enjoyed seeing Ashley and her family home. They have done a really outstanding job making it their own, as we all want to do with our homes. Everyone has their own version of home, sweet home!
It is so much fun when you share other people’s homes. Thank you so much!
This is a super cute home! Thanks for taking us along for a tour. I enjoyed it. Have a wonderful day!
Rhoda, you’ve done it again! What a perfect portrayal of true southern hospitality from the state of Texas. Ashley’s home is so welcoming and it is obvious that the door is always open – even on the internet.
Nice house, not overdone. They have done so much considering they have 2 small children. House looks inviting and comfortable.
Anyone who can use a leg lamp with style is a genius! That’s absolutely fabulous! I wish I had that kind of flair and even half the guts! Beautiful home! Love it! kelly
What a cute house and those boys are so precious! Thank you for sharing this with us!
What a great link! Ashley is brilliant. I wish I had her talent and energy.
What a great space! She has done a wonderful job and I especially like the birch stencil! However, I think your choice of words to describe the “real life” side of the picture as “trashed” is poor. I say this, knowing that you are not an unkind person. If a “real life” photo of my house were posted online and referred to as “trashed”, I would feel just awful. Best wishes. I love your blog!
HI, Paula, no I didn’t say that mean, I really just got that from what Ashley said on her blog about that pic. It’s so true of all of us as bloggers. I wouldn’t be offended by it, as I have several “trashed” areas at my house right now. 🙂
I’m not offended at all, no worries! You were just taking the words right out of my mouth…most of my house looks like that kitchen right now anyway. Life!
Thank you so much for the feature Rhoda, I appreciate it!
Love this series…such a beautiful kitchen makeover….truly a home renovated with creativity and love!
Have a great weekend Rhoda and Ashley.
What a darling family and house. I had to write about those knives in the kitchen. Can’t help being a nosey grandmother, but with two active little ones shouldn’t those be put away somewhere safe?
Love, love the house….adorable!!!
