I’m back to share a bit more in Lauren and Philip’s new house, that being the small library that is just off the foyer of their new house. This is just an open small space that’s perfect for a deck and bookcases. Sort of an out of the way alcove that will be nice for a smaller cozy office. We also worked again with one of my sponsors, Payless Décor, in getting some drapes for this single window. They have tall ceilings in their home and these drapes are longer than average and she chose grommets for her windows in this space.
They turned out really pretty!
Lauren choose grommets on her drapes for a modern, yet classic look and she bought dark wood rods for this room. You’ll notice a pretty wooden desk and a new bookcase in here too.
Shopping on Craigslist again, she found this beautiful wood desk by Kindel for $150. What a steal that was! She looked up the brand and found out it’s high-end.
This pretty bookcase was also a Craigslist find for $450. So, this room is really coming together now, with the addition of the drapes.
The desk is very classic and traditional and looks great in here.
With a leather top, it’s a nice addition to their classic home.
Top of the bookcase.
Now for the details on the drapes. Lauren chose Advantage III drapery panels in the color, Carmina Hemp, a pretty damask pattern in a golden shade. With Payless Décor, you can order several types of drapes and are made to order per the specs that you choose. There are LOTS of fabric choices to choose from as well and you can order samples online to be sure you know what you are getting before ordering.
The grommets are nice and neat and hang really well.
They are lined and made to order. You can choose the length too and order that to your own window size.
Choose width and height for your panels and grommets or pole-mount and get just what you want (with fabric choices, they have lots to choose from).
Lauren’s new drapes look beautiful in her window and really makes this room come alive now. These drapes ran about $350 (with some discounts applied) for the pair, which is certainly not unreasonable for custom ordered drapes.
If you are sprucing up some areas for the Holidays and looking for some shades or blinds and maybe semi-custom drapes, choosing your fabric and having them made and shipped to you, Payless is offering some discounts right now:

bamboo shades
Ooh! So much to choose from!!! Probably something for my kitchen windows…they are so bare!
I’ve been debating what to do with our five TV room windows and found the 2″ Regal Faux Wood Horizontals on Payless Decor that would work just fine. Will definitely keep them in mind when we redo this room.
Would LOVE to have drapery panels for my dining room!
Happy Thanksgiving Rhoda to you and your family!
I forgot to mention that I “liked” Payless Decor on facebook.
Anything……our house flooded a few weeks ago and they have ripped out to the subfloors…..we are starting over…new things would help us get the house redecorated and bring some sunshine into the rather dismal time.
Such pretties.. love them all!
I desperately need new drapes for my great room! Love them all!
Rhoda you are a natural on video! You should start a You Tube channel and add more how-to videos to your blog. Your charming Georgia accent is just another great asset to your blog. (From one Southern girl to another). Happy Thanksgiving from one of your biggest fans!
Oh, Buffie, you are so sweet. I’m not so sure about the natural part, but maybe one day I’ll do more videos. The problem is, I don’t know how to edit my own and make them look good. Another thing to learn!
Wowza! Blinds that even I can install. Would love to have these bamboo blinds, for my living room, here at Crone Cottage. Thanks for the inspiration. Hope you have a blessed Thanksgiving.
Love the room! Great job! Drapes are very elegant!
I would love to shop for drapes for my master bedroom windows! They are the last room in the house in need of them. Thanks for the opportunity and I enjoy your blog 🙂
I already purchased some bamboo blinds for our guest bath from Payless and they were great. I plan on buying more bamboo blinds for the family room and dining room.
I really really really would love to win!!! Those bliss rugs are calling my name!!
I’d love some silvery gray drapes.
Rugs, love them all.. That is what i need the most.
