Hi friends! It’s fall home tour time and I’m joining a fun group of ladies today, so be sure and check them all out. There are so many talented bloggers out there and this is a stellar lineup of home tours that I know you’ll enjoy.
If you’re stopping by from Christy at My Southern Home, I know you enjoyed seeing her gorgeous front porch in SC. It’s Southern to the max! Come along and I’ll share most of my home decorated for fall. I’m going to break it down in two parts and will share the second part tomorrow. Today we’ll see the living room, family room and keeping room off the kitchen. Tomorrow I’ll share the dining room and foyer table.
Welcome to our home! My fall decorating consists of getting out some tried and true formulas that I’ve collected over the last few years. I’ve never gone out and bought piles of real pumpkins or mums. It’s way too hot in GA this time of year so I stick to faux things that hold up year after year. I do like the pop of traditional fall colors in my home, so that’s what you’ll see today. My Rio plants are still going, but not blooming much right now. These orange pumpkins make a fun accent in my black lanterns.

On the front door is a fall hued wreath that I bought a couple years ago and added a fall bow. The porch rug is new from Frontgate this year and I love it.
Faux stems are so easy and that’s what I have used the last few years for the most part. I love real turning fall leaves, but we don’t get a lot of those until November or later. Faux to the rescue. I got these at Michael’s. Here are some similar stems to mine.
I love that little blue owl.
I recently moved this blue and green striped rug to the living room and am loving it. It’s a Dash and Albert.
Looking back to the foyer. My hubby, Mark, is a handy guy and created that beautiful molding in the foyer 2 years ago. It’s so stunning and we love it!
Another view of our open floor plan home.
I love my gallery wall in here, a mix of vintage and thrifted artwork.
Looking towards the dining room, I’ll share it all tomorrow.
I do enjoy color as you can see and these fall colors really pop in here.
Here’s a sneak peek of my dining room table and the new bamboo style pagoda lanterns I just found recently. You can find them on HSN too, they are gorgeous and those are battery candles in a glass hurricane.
Walking into the foyer and down the hall is our family room, where we spend a lot of time. We watch TV in here every evening. Our house isn’t huge, but is very cozy and just right for us.
One of the things I loved about this house when we looked at it first was this bank of windows which really lets in a lot of light and is a perfect view to the back yard.
I keep the mantel fairly simple and change out a few elements for the seasons. I just added some cut limelight hydrangeas from my yard along with…you guessed it, faux fall stems.
I found those black and white dogs years ago at an estate sale and still love them. As you can see, I love blue and white too and these are perfect with my fall colors.
My huge limelight hydrangea bushes are perfect for fall cuttings and I’m so glad to have them. They have humongous blooms!
They start turning a pretty rusty pink in fall.
My little sitting area off the kitchen is a favorite spot to read and drink my coffee in the mornings. That French antique comes in handy for storing kitchen items since our kitchen isn’t that big.
I don’t do much seasonal decorating in here since I use the counters every day.
I do add some seasonal colors to the French cupboard and enjoy seeing it every day as well.
It’s a great place to show off my white dish collection as well as a few other seasonal items.

I love all the touches of fall that you’ve added throughout your pretty home! The blue and oranges are so very striking. I adore that little pagoda lantern on the table.
Marty says
I love how thoughtfully you always decorate your home. You and Mark have made so many amazing changes to your home and it truly reflects your style now. I love the blue and green in the new rug too, it compliments all the pretty blue colors you use. Your kitchen is a favorite and it is really such a pretty transformation. I like that you use like a keeping room with the chairs, a great place to sit and enjoy coffee and read a book. Thanks so much for joining the tour again this season, your home is filled with tons of inspiration and fabulous DIY projects.

Your home is beautiful. I mix the limelights with faux stems, also.
Nan says
Can we talk about those beautiful cushions on your white sofa, the cushions with light blue background and flowers? Are they are a recent purchase? If so, from where. Thanks.
Rhoda says
HI, Nan, those pillows are an Etsy purchase. You can find that fabric here and do a search, there are many who use this Schumacher Chaing Mai fabric. I still love it! https://rstyle.me/+ue_W8j8pabfDAXSFguZygA

Rhoda,
I have always loved your classic, southern style with neutrals and pops of color. I’m with you on using faux fall decor. It’s supposed to be in the 90s this week. Too hot for pumpkins to do well on the porch. Enjoy the change in season!
Jenn says
Such a beautiful tour Rhoda! I love all of your fall touches and that molding in your foyer is so pretty!
Beckie says
Where did you purchase the front door fall wreath? It’s exactly what I’ve been looking for.
Rhoda says
Hi, Beckie, that wreath is about 3 years old now and I think I got it online but can’t remember where. Maybe Crate & Barrel on sale.
