Fall is in the air in Georgia and I’m very happy about that! How are things in your neck of the woods. After the tropical storm from the hurricane blew through here, we are left with moderate temperatures just perfect for Fall enjoyment.
Today on the blog I’m sharing how I added a bit of Fall spice to our family room and mantel. I’m joining some of my blogging friends and they are sharing some of their Fall goodness too so be sure to read to the bottom for all the links!
I don’t go all out over Fall decor like so many people do. That’s never been my thing so just because people pile pumpkins everywhere and buy all the mums, I don’t feel the need to do that around here just to celebrate Fall and take all the pretty pics. I keep it more simple and this year decided to buy a few Fall faux stems which I’ll be able to reuse again and again.
I have a vibrant red throw which fits in perfectly with Fall colors and the colors on the mantel.
And the red hues fit in perfectly with my pillows on the sofa, blush/coral and blues. I have never changed out all my pillows for Fall but if you love to do that, it’s great.
This year on the mantel I bought a new mirror that I think will be fun to use over and over. This one is from Decor Steals. They do flash sales on products and tend to be more farmhouse style, but I loved this mirror and it will be versatile above my fireplace. This one sold out and is no longer available.
Another view of the navy ottoman which came from Arhaus a few years ago.
Back to the mantel, the mirror takes center stage and then I layered some faux Fall stems from Michaels on the left and some dried stems on the right along with some pottery pieces I use for Fall in my stash of home decor.
Here’s the faux leaf stems from Michaels that I picked. up.
I used my glass jar that I love so much and just added faux fall stems from Michaels (above link). The oil painting is an oldie but goodie I found so many years ago at a yardsale. I still love these old vintage paintings and the colors are perfect for Fall. Those old shutters were left in our house when we moved in so they are perfect for me to layer on the mantel. They were part of the shutters that we used for the shutter wall on our new porch.
I love this vase and bowl, from two different sources but they look so good together. Those dried oak leaves are from Michaels and I added some other oak leaves cut from outside.
I love the colors of those dried leaves, so pretty and Fallish.
In the middle is my wood dough bowl with pinecones and other Fall feeling things inside. I love to just pile up what I have that has all the Fall colors and that gets me in the mood.
That’s a look at our family room with all the Fall feels added this year. What are you doing for Fall this year? Do you go all out or do you add just a few things? I enjoy a few Fall things, but always save my energy for Christmas decor and that will be here before we know it.
I hope you all are making the best of this year and looking forward to the Holidays, whatever that looks like this year. Please enjoy all the Fall posts below with me and my friends:

I love your coffee table. Where did you find it?
HI, Judy, it’s from Arhaus about 3 years ago.
Beautiful….I’m interested in where to get some shutters like yours….I didn’t see where you talked about them.
I also liked your beach post. We have been going to Gulf Shores/Orange Beach for 44+ years and my husband all his life…lots different back in early days. We’re supposed to be going fall break in 3 weeks but might not….we’re hoping. It’s so sad!
Thanks
HI, Ann, if you mean those shutters on the mantel, those were left in our house when we moved in so I’m reusing them as a backdrop here. You can usually find old shutters at antique places if you look there.
Also, I am sorry your beach trip in Florida was ruined due to Sally!
How pretty! I too like to save my energy for Christmas. Thanks for showing how to do seasonal yet understated. Your throw really carries the mood into the room.
THank you, Lynne, the small touches are just perfect to me.
Good morning, I’m like you as I don’t go overboard on fall decorations either. I remember the saying, “Less is better.” Your home is beautiful as always.
Thank you Rhonda I agree Autumn can be simple
here are a couple of my projects
So pretty and peaceful!
Your fall decor is beautiful, Rhoda, Fall is my favorite season and also my color palette in decorating and dressing. Could you please tell me what the paint color is in this room?
Thanks!
Hi, Renee, thank you! The paint in our main area is Gatherings by Magnolia Home paint.
I like your decor for fall, especially the white fireplace. The wood bowl with fall colors is perfect.
I love your style. Softly colorful and inviting.
I need your help pls. Your posts have so many ads in them – in between paragraphs, to the right; the entire length of the screen, and across the bottom. It is very hard to read/concentrate on what you are saying/showing. I want to do that! Pls remove all those ads or tell me how to do so. I am sure I am not the only one having this problem. Many thanks! Been reading you for years!
HI, Virginia, thank you for reading. I’m sorry about the ads, I know they can be very annoying. You should be able to scroll down and read my posts and see the pictures without anything covering my posts. I know the ads are there and they show up constantly, but that’s how I make a living doing this and they have to stay. You can install an ad blocker to help with that.
