Family Time at the Fair

Hope you’re all enjoying the start to a beautiful October!  We are having some stellar weather here in Georgia and I could not be happier to have the heat and humidity on the wane for another season.  I always look forward to Fall and all that it brings, but especially the cool and crisp air that accompanies the Autumn time of year.

Lauren and the girls were home over the weekend for a fast visit and our North Georgia fair was happening too, so we planned an outing to go to the fair and have some family fun.  It was a great time and beautiful weather.

Parker was pretty excited about the fair.  I remember being so excited to go to the fair too and it’s been a part of all of our lives for a long time. Nothing like the smells and sights at the fair!

We rode some rides and took in some shows, like the alligator show.

Parker got to pet a sheep.

And ride a pony. She’s been fascinated with horses ever since she got to ride horses at my uncle’s house in Florida.

Of course, it’s not the fair without fair food and junk like this….funnel cake.  I didn’t eat it all by myself, I had some help.

We saw a neat horse show.

That’s Parker’s head in the middle down there, front row, sitting in the sawdust.

We rode the carousel.

And a couple of kiddie rides, the view from the top.

We stayed til the sun was going down and all the neon lights were coming on.

The fair is so pretty at night with all the colored lights and the sounds of people having fun.

Little Iris was having fun. She’s wearing overalls that her big sis wore a couple of years ago.

Here’s Parker and Daddy 2 years ago in the garden.  Those girls are so cute!

It was a fun fun time at the fair!

My sister cooked dinner for everyone on Sunday and we all enjoyed getting together as a family.  When Lauren is home, it brings us all together and we love getting to see those baby girls too.

Dad is doing pretty well right now.  He’s on another round of antibiotics and we have an appointment this week with a gastro doctor to determine if he’s a candidate for the fecal transplant. We are hoping to get this treatment to get the c diff stopped because it’s just a vicious cycle of coming back again and again.  I’m sure it never really goes away, it’s a matter of keeping it at bay. I know you all like to hear what’s going on, so I wanted to share with all of you too.

Baby Iris was enjoying her corn on the cob.

The hit of the weekend was my sister/BIL’s new dog, Bailey. He’s a Shorkie (Yorkie/Shih Tzu) and the cutest thing you’ve ever seen.

Couldn’t you just eat him up??

I’m in love with this little guy and he’s so sweet and cuddly.

Of course, Parker was all over him too and had so much fun playing with him. He would chase her around the house and it was so cute. Don’t you love her dress and shoes?

Mark loved him too, he’s had Yorkies before so had a good time with Bailey.

They were all playing hide and go seek, one of Parker’s favorite games.

Parker loves to dress up in costumes, so put on her princess dress.

Trying to get a picture of these 2 now is nearly impossible.  Iris won’t pose and Parker is good for a few seconds.

Mom and Parker.

Mom and Iris.

What a fun family time it was. I’m so glad I document these visits and family times on my blog because we have a record of our times together and it will be fun to go back and look at these pictures later.

I love sharing with all of you too, so thank you for indulging me with family pictures!

My favorite picture is the one with little Parker in the garden with your Daddy. Nothing like that red Georgia clay between your toes and the smell of vegetables on the vine. GA roots, nothing like them!
Isn’t it wonderful to be with family?

Great pictures! I was curious if Parker’s dress was made with vintage fabrics and needlework. I have seen some and hers is super cute. Praying for your dad.
