Fashion over 50: Casual White Boho Top

Last weekend, Mark and I had a Friday night date out with his youngest daughter and her boyfriend. We went back to what is going to become a favorite restaurant here in Acworth, Henry’s.  I imagine most of you who live in this area have been to Henry’s, since it’s so popular and there’s always a line out the door.  We’ve been making reservations to make sure we can get in there and we both tried the Louisiana Oooh LaLa, which was fabulous.  Big shout out to Henry’s and if you haven’t been, you have to go!  Delicious Cajun cuisine!

So, since this is a fashion post, I’ll share what I wore.  Nothing spectacular, but a casual summer top that I got this summer at TJ Maxx (always one of my tried and true shopping spots!) and it’s so cute and boho, in navy and white.  Great with jeans!

Mark and I out on a date in downtown Acworth. We are really enjoying our new little town, it’s a little like Mayberry in the setting.

Here’s a closer look at the blue and white Boho top.  It’s casual with embroidery at the top and I’ve always enjoyed tops with a little bit of embroidery.

Jeans are from Rock and Republic and I’ve had this pair for several years now.

Flip flops with rhinestones are from Payless shoes and I picked them up last year on sale.

That’s it for this week, but if you’re in the market for some Fallish looks, check out these finds I spotted at TJ Maxx.  You really can’t beat their prices on so many things and I always have good luck there.  Even better that you can now shop online with them.  Wish I could link all the stuff I get, but that’s not usually possible.

Have you noticed all the bell sleeves out there now?  I like some of them and will probably add a couple more to my wardrobe this year. What to you think about bell sleeves? Sort of a 60’s look, I think!

Rhoda, I like how you paired classic blue and white with the turquoise purse. I’ve been adding some pops of turquoise mixed with my blue and white Chinese porcelain at home. It looks fresh and unexpected. I also like Mark’s shirt!

Embroidered tops are so popular right now. You look lovely in the one you are wearing!

I love the bell sleeves to but haven’t purchased any yet. They are on my list!
Your little town does sound like a fun place. I also keep wanting to visit some of the antique places you write about. We only live about 6hours from Atlanta. Maybe some day.

You look so cute in that outfit! I do like bell sleeves and embroidery too. I’ll take a little of all of it. 🙂

TJ Maxx seems fashionable but I have a;ways found fabrics to lack quality.

Love the turquoise handbag! And as always you look great in that outfit! I like embroidery but the bell sleeves I’m not so sure… Maybe I need to try one on!

Hey – I really liked your review of Henry’s. A group of 5 couples are coming to Marietta in November for a weekend. What other restaurants (not chains — something “local”) would you recommend? I love the color of the kitchen cabinets!

HI, Beverly, I’m trying to think of more places I love. The Marietta square has lots of good places too. Definitely go to the Square and check it out, lots of shops and restaurants. I love Taqueria Tsunami on the square, it’s sort of an Asian chain, but very good. If you like Thai food, ThaiCoon on the square is also very good. Chicken and the Egg off the square, wonderful!

Perfect summer casual and it looks fabulous on you! The purse is a nice touch of gorgeous blue and goes beautifully with Mark’s shirt!
