Fashion over 50: Coral Velvet Pants

Hi my friends!

It’s another Fashion over 50, it sure rolls around fast these days.  It seems like I only get dressed about once or twice a week, looking presentable enough to share with y’all.  Today’s outfit is a pair of coral velvet pants from Loft that I got on their early spring clearance sale.

We went out to dinner on Friday night to a local spot, Gabriel’s and it was a perfect backdrop for this outfit.  The coral velvet pants are from Loft and I’ve linked them below. They are still on sale if you like  them!

A friend passed this Cabi top to me a few years ago and it’s got great colors, which are good on my coloring. The top has some ruching detail which is nice for a form fitting look.

With flat suede shoes, it’s a nice springy outfit.

I’ve had this coral jewlery for years too, a hand me down from my sister and it goes perfectly with this top.

That’s it for this week. As always, I appreciate you stopping by!

Here are the pants and ballet flats below (affiliate link):

This outfit looks great on you! The colour is perfect for your colouring and the slightly more fitted style is so flattering.

I agree! Coral is definitely one of your best colors. You need to wear it more often. 🙂

You look wonderful in coral 😊
I love how you show things that are not necessarily brand new. And things you may have even had for many years.
Loved your piece about Billy Graham. In the last few weeks we have lost some key elderly stalwarts of the faith… Jim Downing, # 6 man in the Navigators at 105, Billy Graham at 99 and last week, my pastor husband’s dear uncle, Jesse Bloom at 98. May there be those who are carrying on the work of the Lord to step up.
I so love hearing about your sweet family😊

Thank you, Karen, and yes Billy Graham’s passing was a milestone, I think for America. Not many men like him around and he was such a stalwart faithful man of God.

Very pretty outfit & coral is one of my favorite colors. I read several blogs but your’s is by far my favorite. I love seeing your family, seeing your new home & your fashion days. You keep it real & I like that! Happy Wednesday!

That’s a terrific look for you, very flattering! I love coral, but it’s not a great color on me. I even repainted my powder room because the faded coral I initially chose made me look scary when I saw my reflection in the mirror. Still, the pants are very tempting – with a crisp white blouse I could slip it into my wardrobe. Thanks for sharing!

Rhoda, this is a great post, and I definitely agree with all the other comments about how coral is such a pretty color on you! It’s so flattering to your skin tone! (You should crop that picture where you’re sitting on the bench and think about using it as one of your profile pictures. SO pretty!) This post is a reminder to me that there’s a special kind of harmony when your clothes fit well, the colors are individually suited for you, and all other accessories compliment the overall look. Then people tend to comment on the “total picture” of how beautiful you look, rather than “those are cute shoes”, or “love that necklace”.
    Love your blog!
