Hi, friends! I’m back today with another cute outfit from Thredup (affiliate link). This isn’t sponsored, but was one of the outfits I got on my recent shopping spree with them and I didn’t share it last time because it hadn’t arrived yet.
I know I keep talking about this, but it’s fun to look for shorter dresses to wear during Winter with tights/leggings and boots. I’m glad I discovered this a few years ago. To look at shorter dresses as tunics instead of dresses. Dresses that I wouldn’t wear with nothing on my legs take on a whole new look with tights/leggings and boots. And that really makes for some fun outfits this time of year.
This brand is Alfani and it was a mere $11.99 at thredUP and it had retailed for $71 originally. I remember seeing this brand at Macy’s and it’s a nice brand. The fabric is sort of a stretchy type fabric and will wash up great and this one is Medium.
Yes, I left up my wreath from Christmas, it sort of goes with Winter too.
You all probably know by now that I like a little animal print in my world and this dress has it all. I love the neutral colors and it goes well with my heeled black boots.
With a wide ruffle around the bottom and bell ruffled sleeves, I think it’s as cute as can be.
I added my black and gold jewelry for a fun, but sporty look. And look, I match my stairs!
It was raining like crazy the day we took these pics, so had to get creative. My photographer, Mark, is getting good at this stuff!
I’m sold on tunics/short dresses for a great look during winter with boots. If you haven’t tried it yet, give it a whirl and let me know what you think. You can always look for knee length dresses too if you feel more comfortable with that.
thredUP is a great place to browse for deals, so check them out when you get a minute!
I found a few Alfani brand dresses that I thought would be cute with boots and Macy’s is having a sale on lots of things too (affiliate links below):
I love boots with dresses too, but I insist on knees covered. Although I am short, I still have trouble finding them. If they are long enough, they are too low at the top. 🙂 I did find two cute sweater dresses at Belk, and my daughter bought them for me for Christmas.
I love longer tunics or dresses with tights and boots. One reason I do like this combo is that you can wear the dress a little shorter and get away with it. This outfit is perfect!
Yes, Stacey, I do not like bare knees anymore, so I am particular about that during summer months. I do wear shorts, but that’s a little different, they are knee length. Aging legs are not fun either and I’m not liking the way mine are aging.
We’re all growing old but at least we’re doing it together. I, too, very much dislike my naked knees showing.
Hey, Jeanie, you’re so right, glad we are all in this together!
I love the new tunic/dress!
Very cute dress! I really like the ruffles on the sleeves and hem, and it looks great with tights and boots!
You look great in this… but you look great in everything. I love the Alfani brand; I often find things I like from them.
Winter keeps churning here in NE Ohio…more snow falling..I keep thinking about spring 😊
This is adorable on you! Great find!
So pretty! I love the pattern on the dress – I’m a solids girl for the most part, but something like this is tempting. Your Fashion over 50 features are terrific.
At 53, count me in on no naked knees! (Walking shorts excepted.). One of the reasons I love winter is because I can wear shorter skirts and dresses with tights or leggings. Living in NW Montana, I have a fairly long season for this!
I hear you, Eleanor, we all have parts we don’t like don’t we? Gravity has taken over. Amazing how that changes once you hit 60, ugh!
That is just soooo adorable!!!
Rhoda, this outfit looks so cute on you! You always look so nice in everything you wear! Your photographer, Mark, is doing a wonderful job!
Have a great day! Blessings!
Thank you, Mary-Ann!
I really like this look and it gives more outfit combos.
Rhoda-you really are so pretty. Can I be honest and say I don’t (at all) like the dress, but I think it looks great on you?! LOL. It’s obviously a nicely made dress, that pattern though!? 😉 I know, I know, everyone has their own taste! I DO love the tights and boots-comfy and cute! Thank you for sharing your blog and life with us! I always look forward to seeing what you are up to!
Hey, Sofia, you can say that, I don’t mind. I do like pattern and you all probably know by now that I like me some animal print, in moderation. This dress is a little bold, but I really like it and we all have to wear what makes us feel good.
What a deal on the dress! It looks great on you! It makes me want to try the dress and legging look. I ordered from Thread Up a while back and I loved it! I really enjoy your blog. Thanks for sharing!
THank you, Paula, give it a try and see what you think. It’s such a comfortable way to dress this time of year.
Rhoda, you look fabulous! I, for one, love dresses of this length worn over tights. My legs have always been one of my best features and, even at 67, I still love to be able to show them off. As far as my other parts–well, it’s best not to go there!
Thank you, Bobbi, I hear you! I think everyone ages differently on every part of the body, so we do have to choose our best assets, so I don’t blame you for showing off those legs. If I had them, I would too! My arms are hanging in there, so I can still show those.
Love the outfit!
I still have my real live Christmas wreath hanging on my kitchen window even with the red bow! lol I mist it with water everyday and it’s still as green as ever. lol
As a heavier woman, this is my trick for longer tunics. Why are shirts so short these days! Sigh. You look lovely. I am wearing a look like this when I travel to Chicago next month. Comfortable and stylish.
I love the dress and the leggings and the dress looks very classy as it has a classic pattern and colors. If the dress were longer, you wouldn’t really see the leggings and the leggings is part of the look. The pattern of the dress is offset by the solid color of the leggings and the boots so I think it works great. Now I want to find a dress like that!
