Fashion over 50: Travel Wear

I’m late getting up my fashion post this week, so thanks for bearing with me!  I got in late last night from Waco and can’t wait to share that trip with all of you.

Since I’ve been out and about this last week, first to New Orleans to see those darling baby girls and then to Waco, TX, I had to share what I was wearing on those trips, so this is a short post on fashion today.  It’s all things you’ve seen before, but I’m all about reruns and don’t have new clothes all the time, which I’m sure you can all relate to.  It’s nice mixing things up in the closet and I tend to do that pretty regularly.

New Orleans was a little rainy and cool the first day we were there, so I wore my charcoal Old Navy jeans with those new Tom’s gray booties. Top from Loft and that ruffled gray sweater you’ve all seen that I got last year at the Atlanta mart. It’s been a good layering piece for cool days.

This is that Loft top I got on sale a few weeks ago. Perfect with my gray pieces. And I’m really enjoying those gray booties.

This is what I wore to dinner when we were in Waco. There were a group of bloggers and media girls at the Magnolia event and I’ll be telling you ALL about it. Truly a dream come true trip for me.  We all went out to dinner at a really neat place the first night and this is what I wore. These are Old Navy Rockstar Jeans. I’ll add links below.

This coral top is from Covered Perfectly (affiliate link) and their Simple Comfort tops are great layering pieces and they come in several colors.  I bought this lightweight coral sweater last year. Some turquoise and silver jewelry topped it off.  These flat graphite shoes are by Naturalizer and are pretty comfy for all day.

Eeeeeek!  I can’t even believe I have a picture to share of myself with Chip and Joanna.  I’m still on Cloud 9 after this wonderful event in Waco.  I wore my new flowy white blouse and those same Rockstar gray jeans and flats to meet Chip and Jo.

As soon as I can get through all the pics I took of Magnolia market and our visit with Chip and Jo, I’ll be sharing it all with you.  We were invited out there by Kilz to see Joanna’s line of Magnolia Home paint that they collaborated on.  The colors are just beautiful and I used one of them in my master bathroom renovation last year and I hope to use more of these gorgeous colors in the future.  It was truly such a highlight to meet these two! They are SO down to earth and the real deal, exactly as you would imagine them to be watching them on TV.  I am so happy for their success and it was such a pleasure to see Magnolia market in person and get to shop there and eat cupcakes!  Stay tuned for the whole story!

You can shop some of my clothing pieces below and also Nordstrom is having their big winter sale right now so I included a few things from there too that caught my eye!

Chip and JoJo are the real deal. They have done so much for the town of Waco! So glad you enjoyed your trip. As I mentioned on IG, we miss Waco. Our youngest spent three wonderful years there as a student a Baylor. I remember visiting Joanna’s small shop on Bosque many times. Can’t wait to get back and go to the Silos.

Hi, Lauren, that is so neat that you visited her old place. They were talking about that place yesterday and how small it was. I’m so happy for them!

Most of all how they put their faith and family first and also that they seem to be so down to earth and real. We heard from a few people that they are exactly the same as they were before they became nationally known, so that’s always good to hear.

I was in Waco this past week–I visited Magnolia on Monday, which was President’s Day and it was CRAZY–is that when you were there.? It was so busy that my husband and I actually left and went back on Tuesday–much calmer, but still busy. I told my husband while we were there that Waco should give Chip and Joanna Gaines the Key to the city! I loved Waco and it was a treat to see The Silos and the Magnolia operation.

Hi, Brenda, I was there Monday and Tuesday afternoon! You might have passed me at the market or Silos. I got there in the afternoon on Monday and walked from my hotel down there and the line to the bakery was down the sidewalk. You’re right, Tuesday was much better and that’s when we met Chip and Joanna and then shopped in the market in the afternoon and I got cupcakes then too before I had to leave for the airport. Such a fun experience!!

I really love the coral top and sweater. That is a great color on you. Also, what is the pendant that you are wearing? It looks really interesting but I cannot quite make out what it looks like up close? Great picture of you, Chip and Joanna!

HI, Sarah, thank you so much! I went back and added a pic of that jewelry I was wearing, so you can see it closer. I’ve shared it before and got it a couple of years ago at the Atlanta mart. Turquoise and silver.
