Fashion over 50: White Jeans and Tunic

It’s still hot around here, so I’m not even close to wearing Fall clothes yet, although I’ll be sharing a few new things for Fall before the month is out. Hoping the temperatures start dropping soon, but this week it’s still in the 90’s. I am more than ready for cooler weather, that’s for sure! By the time September rolls around every year, I’m over the heat and humidity and can’t wait for that first chill in the air. We’ve had a few mornings of a hint of Fall, but the afternoons are still heating up.

Today, I’m sharing more white jeans and a tunic top, which seems to be a staple in my closet these days. I do love white jeans and mixing them all up with so many things create a lot of clothing combos that I enjoy wearing. I’ve shared this tunic top before, but it’s worth sharing again with the pewter sandals I got this year. I really like this whole look and it’s cool and comfortable for late summer.

The tunic top I picked up at a boutique in Woodstock, GA a couple of summers ago, so it is long gone.  The white jeans are from Old Navy that I’ve shared a few times before.

Love the lace and animal print on this tunic and it’s very unusual with all the little details.

Half of it is an animal print.

And the other half is white.

It has a little ribbon and chain detail which makes it very unique.  Those sandals have been great this summer with so many things. I got them early summer at DSW locally, but they seem to be sold out now.

Guess Janger gladiator sandal – found it at Steinmart in Gold in limited sizes, but not pewter.

I’ll be sharing some Fall looks very soon and can’t wait for that. I’ve got a few things to share with you from different companies I’m working with and it’s always fun to put new outfits together.  Fall clothing is a fave for me and I always love getting out my boots and sweaters each Fall season.  It’s not time for that yet, but I’m hoping in another month or so the temps will be cooler.

Nordstrom is having a nice 40% off sale and here are a few tunics that I spotted that would be great with jeans or leggings and layered with some Fall jackets. There’s a gladiator sandal in there too that has a similar look to mine, just click through to see them all. Affiliate links are used.  Happy Fall!

I’ll be back tomorrow with an update family post.  Lauren was home with the girls over the Labor Day weekend and we had some sweet family times together.

Is it okay to wear white after Labor day? I was always taught NO!. But with the 90 plus degree weather I would still like to wear white pants…. thoughts?

Andrea, I think it’s fine to still wear white after Labor Day especially in the South. I’m not giving up my white jeans yet, so I say go for it!

I only wear my white jeans in the spring and fall. They are too hot for the Georgia summer! Of course, they aren’t white/white, they are almost off white. I think that makes it okay!! lol

I’m just the opposite – I much prefer summer clothes instead of all the layers and having my feet covered up. It’s been hot here in TN, and humid of course, but honestly I don’t think our humidity was as bad this year.

Rhoda, I have been following you for a couple of years at least but am not sure I have ever commented before. The last few weeks everything is scrunched to the far left of the computer screen making things difficult to read and almost impossible to see the pictures. I think the problem is on your end because I have heard of it happening to other bloggers. I love your blog and hope this can be fixed.

HI, Talitha, this is something that started about 3 months ago & those with ad blockers are having the problems. It seems to be with Chrome and Firefox and most who disabled the ad blocker, went back to normal. Are you running an ad blocker? I have an ad plugin on my sidebar that I need to keep and it was updated back then and that’s when the problems started for some folks.

I’m ready for the heat to let up as well here in Florida. I always look forward to your posts, and I’m eager to see your precious nieces and family this week.

Rhoda, I absolutely love this outfit! The tunic is so flattering and I think it transitions to fall perfectly. It’s difficult to find tunics that still show a little of our feminine shape. This one is dynamite!

It’s funny to me that white jeans or pants are even a question anymore. I don’t hesitate but I do live in Texas and it’s h.o.t!!

Honestly, I don’t think anyone cares whether or not you wear white after Labor Day. Who has time to notice and comment on that kind of thing? If I were younger, I’d wear just what I wanted to because here in the South it’s hot and humid until the first leaf falls!!!
