I’m back with another what I think is a good share today for Fashion over 50/60. I love long cardigans and have collected at least 4 of them of various colors. I have a black one, gray, rust and now the latest one this Banana Republic wheat colored cardigan. It will definitely be versatile with a lot of things.
Cardigan Look One
Most of my cardigans don’t button up the front, but when I saw this one, I thought that could definitely be a sweater dress too and worn with boots and a scarf would be a cute outfit for colder months. I ordered a Medium instead of Small to give me a little extra room and allow layering of tops as well.
I’ll show you how I’ll wear this new Banana Republic Factory cardigan (affiliate link) in two different ways. Now I’ve just checked again and unfortunately the sweater is sold out in all sizes but XL. I have no idea if they will restock, but it’s now on clearance for 40% off $39.99. I paid. $23.99 for it and thought that was a great deal. These sale items go fast!
The sweater dress is comfy and warm and the fabric is a knit that gives but has a nice feel to it.
Cardigan Look Two
The second look with this cardigan is the traditional open cardigan look. This color mixes so well with navy blue shades. This cabi shirt was a Goodwill find a few months ago.
I love it layered with the new cardigan and those White House Black Market jeans I’ve shared. Those are unfortunately sold out too.
I layered several of my Grace & Heart jewelry pieces and love these all together. I’m into chunky rings and those layered bracelets are great too. Here’s a link to my Grace & Heart page if you want to browse.
I had a family shower to go to and wore this outfit over the weekend. I love the little touch of the Target leopard belt (affiliate link) too.
So there’s a couple of ideas for you today on how to mix things up. One cardigan, two ways! I love that and for the price you can’t beat it.
Also, there are great Soma & Chico’s sales going on this week (affiliate links used below):

Here are a few cardigans you might like! (affiliate links)
Cute looks! Would love to see it buttoned and belted, too!
Really cute looks, Rhoda! Two questions: Do your long cardigans get baggy after you have sat in them awhile? At my age I sure don’t need a baggy bottom! 😉. And…what is the secret to your Creeping Jenny in the pots by the front door? It is gorgeous! Hugs!!
Hey Roxanne, the ones I wear open with jeans don’t seem to get baggy. I haven’t worn the buttoned up one long enought to know how it will so but it has spandex so I think it would hold up fine too.
You have a great figure for both looks. My body does not love sweaters…since they seem to cling in all the wrong places! 🙂 Great pulled-together clothing options. Happy Wednesday.
Thank you Becky, as always for stopping by!
I love the sweater/dress but I really was drawn to the beautiful scarf you are wearing and was wondering where you purchased it.
Hi, Elizabeth, thank you that scarf is so old I don’t even remember where I got it. Maybe TJ Maxx.
Such cute pictures, Rhoda! You always look so pretty! I love the long cardigans, too. They are always so cozy in the cooler weather.
Thanks for always bringing us such great outfits. It would sure be nice to live in the USA and be able to get such great bargains! With covid, we can’t winter on South Padre Island this year. We love it there and have been going for 15 years. Oh! well! Hopefully we can go next year!
Hope you and Mark have a great week! So glad that you were able to get away for a bit.
THank you, Mary-Ann, I sure hope next year gets better for all of us with travel.
What a beautiful picture of you in the last photo! ❤️
Thank you Gina!
