Hi, there! It’s another Fashion over 50 day and I’ve got a couple of new things to share with you from Old Navy. I do like Old Navy for casual clothes and I always find something I like in their new Fall clothing. These pieces are great for layering and a good weight for Fall into Winter.
I loved this faux Sherpa vest and it will be a nice piece for layers. It’s nicely lined inside and has a pretty faux leather trim on the edge.
I wore this out last Friday when Mark and I went up to Blue Ridge for the day. These shoes have been fun to wear this Fall and those are the Chico’s jeans I shared recently. I really love them and they are very comfy, not to mention that little bit of bling is cute.
I got out my vintage alligator purse that I’ve never shared with y’all. I bought this years ago from Ebay and love it. I need to get it out and use it more often. I recently bought a new purse strap for it from Amazon and it’s ready to use again. The old strap had long worn out but this one snaps on and is easy to use. It has leather in the middle and gold chain on either end. If you’re looking for replacement straps like this, Amazon has a lot.
This clay and white striped top is from Old Navy last year. I love their casual tops and I seem to gravitate towards stripes.
Next is another sweater from Old Navy. I paired it with flare leg jeans that I picked up from White House Black Market via ThredUp a couple years ago.
This Fair Isle sweater is in my fave black and white and is very soft and cozy. I got the sweater in Small Tall, the sleeves are just a bit longer. It will be nice to have it this season as well. I periodically have to clean out my closet and get rid of things that I’m not wearing and it will be time to do that again soon.
Here are the sweater and vest linked below, as well as both shoes. I think the shoes might be sold out! (affiliate links used)

Hi rhoda, what i like about your fashions is you are going out in your outfits.. your not just trying on, you actually wear the clothes. You try to keep it real. As a looong time reader ,i really thank you .
Rhoda says
Thank you, Sue, it does get challenging trying to share new clothes since I’m not buying them all the time. I may do some try ons along the way to show newer things that are available in the stores, like the other fashion bloggers do. It’s a fine line with all of this. I won’t just turn into fashion blogger all the time, but to make it interesting for you all, I need to show new clothes that are available each season.

I really like both looks, but particularly the sweater and black jeans – but really, I love that you actually wear these clothes and they’re from stores that I can afford! So thank you for sharing affordable fashion.

Since Old Navy is so very inexpensive, I never trusted their clothes. We live in our motor-home and travel around full time, using laundromats all the time. My clothes have to be tough. My sister in law handed down a black and white striped Old Navy top, looks like yours, and this top wears like iron, goes through hot washers and hotter dryers and still looks perfect. It’s almost weird. Since then, I bought 2 dresses and they are so easy to wear and are also holding up.
This is off the subject but yesterday I was in a Washington DC Macy’s and they had a large Thredup area. (I didn’t look because I was only in Macy’s looking for a black sweater for my latest Old Navy dress and don’t need anything else, in a motor home, you must be VERY minimalist. I bought a black cashmere cardigan which I will have to baby but you can only carry this lifestyle so far.) I know you like Thredup and might want to know.
Love the new blog look!! It’s beautiful, so expressive and pretty.

HI, Nancy, thanks for taking time to comment on Old Navy and ThredUP. Yes I like them both. I’ve found a lot of great pieces at both places and Old Navy continues to have good looking things and is so reasonable.

No wide leg pants for me. The straight leg width is as wide as I want to go. I like what you show from Old Navy I have never shopped there. Maybe I’ll put them on my list. I like your choices.
