Fashion over 50: Dressing for Spring

Hey friends, welcome to another Fashion over 50! Today I’m dressing a little more spring-like, since the temps and weather are finally cooperating here in ATL. We’ve gotten some really nice weather lately and so the spring colors are coming out.

I went shopping this week at Ross Stores and found some cute things that I brought home, so I’ll be sharing those soon. They are not all springy, but more black and white things that I couldn’t resist. They have an annual dress event which just started I think, so if you’re in the market for some spring/summer dresses, stop by and check them out. I bought 5 things for around $130 and they are all cute (including a jumpsuit!), can’t wait to share them with you. I will be taking some of them on our cruise in about a month, which I’m SO excited for!

I got out my winter white cotton cropped pants from Banana Republic that I’ve had for several years and mixed it with a pretty coral and white top and a coral cardigan. I got this cardigan at thredUP (affiliate link) and have found a lot of great things at that online consignment store.

The cardigan is Eileen fisher and is the perfect weight for spring fashion when you need just a little something on the arms. It seems that we go so fast into summer than I don’t have a lot of time to wear spring cardigans like this, only a month or 2.

I like this one because it’s lower in the back and gives a nice clean look to my outfit. Those booties I’ve had for a few years too, from TJ Maxx. My feet aren’t ready for spring yet, but it’s time very soon to get a pedicure and get them ready for sandals.

I hope you got a few ideas on ways you can put Spring items together in your closet. I hardly ever wear the same things together more than once or twice and enjoy mixing things around using what I have.

Coral is definitely my color, as is turquoise, so when I can find that color, I grab it.

Here are a few things from thredUP I saw that you might like (affiliate links used). Some good buys on booties right now at end of season and I’ve added a few spring things below too that caught my eye:

Black and white cardigan

Coral cardigan

Talbots Cardigan

Espadrilles from TJ Maxx

That is definitely your color! Great look. Yesterday I wore a hot pink boyfriend cardigan, white tee, and jeans out to some appointments, accessorized with a turquoise scarf trimmed with the same pink ball fringe. I got compliments everywhere I went (which at 66 I’m happy to take!). I really think the pink color just made people happy after all the gray, rainy days.

Enjoy your cruise. Every time I say the word to my husband, I get a silent eye roll and grunt – his way of saying ‘not in his lifetime.’ You will be perfectly outfitted and ready to go! These colors look good on you.
