Fashion over 50: Fall Maxi Dress

Happy Wednesday again! Time for Fashion over 50.  Mark and I are headed to the beach for a few days in Destin, so looking forward to a few days away and time on the beach.  We haven’t been to the beach all summer and this trip is with several of his family members.  His family has gotten so big that they don’t all try to go to the beach together now, so this is a smaller group than last year.  And we are changing venues from St. George to Destin.  I checked the weather and it looks like we have perfect sunny weather coming up. Yay for that!

Over the weekend, we had a family party to attend.  Mark’s youngest daughter, McKenzie is engaged to her longtime boyfriend and there was an engagement party for them, so we went to that. It was very nice and we are so excited for their December 2019 wedding.  It will be so pretty during that time of year.

I wore a long maxi dress that I got from thredUP last year. It’s a tank style and it still been so hot here that I needed to dress cooler for this party which was outdoors.  I love the fall colors in the dress and it was fun to wear it out.

Here’s my affiliate link for shopping at thredUP. I’ve found some great things there, but this isn’t sponsored.  I have bought many things on my own from them.

It’s sort of a Boho look and I really like the fabric it’s made out of. I wanted to add a little jacket with it, but didn’t need anything heavy, so this little lightweight knit sweater I have from Express was the perfect thing to top it off with.

It’s sheer and lightweight and not too hot.

Adding some chunky jewelry with it was the finishing touch.  I’ve had all this jewelry for a long time and it’s nice to have colors for everything. I had forgotten to put on my wedding ring, but went back and grabbed it right after these pics were taken.

This dress was a nice Fallish look and perfect with flat sandals. These are from Target a couple of years ago.

Here are a few dresses I saw that would be Boho in style and work for many occasions (affiliate links):

Here’s the jewelry I wore, a chunky black/brown necklace and earrings and a leather cuff I bought from my friend, Lucy a few years ago.  Her stuff is so cute and different.

That was our weekend! I went on a fast trip last week to Las Vegas that I’ll share with you tomorrow!

Thanks as always for stopping by and hope you have a great week. I’ll be sharing Destin with you too when we return.  It’s going to be a relaxing time and I know we’ll eat some seafood!

Enjoy your get away to the beach. I love the maxi dress, but being short I cannot wear them.
