Fashion over 50: It’s All About the Shoes!

Greetings my friends!

This post really is all about the shoes.  You have probably figured out by now that I like shoes.  I can be swayed by a pretty pair of shoes and convince myself that they need to be in my closet.  I don’t replace all my shoes constantly, but I do like to add a really neat pair here and there and when I was scrolling through Facebook recently (minding my own business), an ad popped up in my feed from Sole Society.  I can’t tell you how many times I’ve clicked over to their site and looked at shoes, but this time, I was smitten.

Which means, I bought them!

I did hunt down a 15% coupon, because they don’t know me (I wish they did, I’d love to get on their radar as a blogger!),  but this is my first pair of Sole Society and I do love them. They are very comfortable.

So, what happens when you get a new pair of shoes?  Why, you have to put together an outfit that will  highlight those shoes!

So, this was my Sunday go to meeting outfit last weekend.  I’ve had these winter white cords for a couple of years now.  I’ll share those below too and I found this faux fur long vest a couple of years ago from a traveling boutique in Roswell.  It was a great deal and I always enjoy wearing it.  We’ve had lots of sunshine and warm weather recently, but Sunday was in the 30’s, so this was perfect to pull out and wear.

I love the backdrop of Acworth to shoot some fashion photos and Mark is great about taking pics for me.  I got these earrings from the Etsy girl, Just Christy, I mentioned a couple of weeks ago and these pale pink with a little gold glimmer are so pretty. I paired them with my pearl jewelry that I’ve had for ages.

The pink sweater is a thredUP find from last year and it’s from American Eagle Outfitter.

You can see the shoes better here, but I love how strappy and cute they are.  They have a zipper in the back, which makes them easy to put on and they are only 2 1/2″ tall which is perfect for me now if I wear heels.  I wear heels less and less these days, but sometimes you just feel good putting on a pair of heels.

These are neutral enough that they will go with a lot of things, but the blush pink is so on trend right now and I’m liking it too. Fashion over 50: It's All About the Shoes

They really are comfortable too and well padded in the toe box.  I can see wearing these with dresses, jeans, and dress pants. They are just so cute and I love how soft that suede is.

I felt very glam and stylish in this outfit and the shoes were the icing on the cake.

You looking so pretty!. I love Sole Society – I buy shoes and purses from them often. They are always the best quality. I have never had to send anything back.

Not everyone can wear those cute shoes but you have “pretty” feet and can wear anything. I’ve never seen you in a pair of shoes that don’t look fantastic.

Those are so pretty – but I wonder – honestly now – would those be comfortable at the end of a 10-hour day at the office (walking on concrete floors) – and after a 3-block hike to my car in the afternoon? I have to buy shoes with that in mind because that is my current life – and the shoes MUST comply no matter how ‘cute’ they may be. 🙂

Becky, I hear ya and probably not for 10 hours, but they were very comfortable for the 3 hours I had them on the first time. I don’t think I have any heels I can wear for 10 hours and still feel good.

Yes, it’s serious orthotics and New Balance for me. But even I could wear anything for a few hours. You should try New Balance. Some of their shoes are deluxe. Straight up unning shoes to be sure, but feel so deluxe.

ok, I will probably be in the minority of gals that can’t stand pointy toed shoes. I don’t think they make anyones feet look pretty , and I know they damage the foot down the line, (my mother in law had hammer toes later in life from wearing this type of shoe. But I really like the color and your cute outfit . 🙂

Wow, what a gorgeous outfit. I’m always nervous to wear earrings AND a necklace, I feel I should wear one or the other. But this looks great, maybe because it’s closer to monochromatic, anyway just a beautiful outfit. I’ve worn scrubs for 40 years, it’s very easy for me to feel flashy. And that is great background. And very cute shoes. I’m really liking the blush trend.
