Fashion over 50: More Summer Casual

It’s Wednesday again, so today I’m back to share a couple of outfits that I’ve worn recently.  Summer is coming to an end soon and Fall will be creeping in with cooler weather and less humidity.  I’m sitting on my screened porch right now and the weather is simply beautiful, lower humidity and a little chill in the air.

I’m always excited for September to turn the calendar and this year is no exception, even though I’ve thoroughly enjoyed my summer, with trips to the pool and lake and lots of outdoor concerts.  I’ve still got a beach trip planned for September and October, so lots of fun things to look forward to with the cooler temperatures.

Cool and casual is what I do most in the summer, so my white jeans from Kut from the Kloth (affiliate link)  have served me well this year.

I paired them with a black and white top from H & M that I got 3 years ago.  I love black and white and I love tops with shirring on the bottom.  Shirring is a nice slimming feature that skims over and hides any problem areas.  This top is a wrap style top that folds over at the neckline.

With my metallic sandals from Target, I added all gold jewelry to this outfit, giving it a little sparkle and shine.

I’ve shared this trio before:  Bracelets from Wrist Soiree and the earrings are from Saks 5th Ave. Outlet.  The necklace is also from Wrist Soiree and goes with the tassel bracelet.  Love the combo of chunky gold jewelry!

You’ve seen these pieces before, but maybe not together.  This boho top has brown stitching in it, so I paired it with my brown cropped pants from C Wonder (shopping spree from last Fall, but C Wonder is now out of business).

Adding simple white sandals, it’s a casual and cool look for late summer, going into Fall.

Wearing turquoise jewelry, which you know I love, accents the turquoise threads in the top.  I found this top at the Atlanta mart earlier this year, so can’t link to it, but it’s such a cute top. That necklace I picked up years ago at a yardsale and the stacking bracelets are from several sources, that I can’t link to either.  Oh, the light colored bracelet is also from Wrist Soiree, a new one from her line.  Collecting stretch stacking bracelets like this is fun and you can mix them all up.

So, that’s a look at a couple of summer outfits that I’ve worn recently.  I have to remember to take pics along the way when I get dressed up and go out.  That usually happens on the weekends.

I’m getting a color consultation this week, so can’t wait to share that with you.  My friend, Karen, knows someone who does that and she is coming to my house tomorrow to show me my best colors in makeup and clothing, so I can’t wait to see if I’m on target with most of my choices or not.  I’ll be sharing all of that with you!

Here are a few boho inspired tops and metallic sandals that caught my eye that I wanted to pass on:

I also love black and white. I think anything looks great with white jeans. I finally had to throw my metalic sandals away that I got from Target as I had worn them out. I like the featured Guess metalic sandals. The fall is a nice time to visit with beaches of the NC Outer Banks.

I welcomed the cooler GA temperatures, by having coffee on my screened porch this morning-heavenly!
I’m not ready for summer to end, but I’m tired of my clothes. I’m ready to transition into fall! Rhoda, you look great in your outfits, today. I love mixing brown with turquoise!

Very pretty outfits, but I do have to say that the first one, the black and white combo, looks fabulous on you and is probably my all time favorite of yours!! I love brown and turquoise, too, and the second outfit looks great on you, too!! Keep the fashion coming!!
