You all know I love a good bargain and enjoy shopping at places that save me money, so today I’m back with Fashion over 50 and this post is sponsored by thredUP, that online fashion consignment shop that’s hard to resist. I always find some great things on this site and I’ll give you a fun preview of all my finds today.
In case you don’t know it, thredUP is the largest online shop that sells second hand items of clothing, shoes, purses, and accessories for the well dressed woman who likes to save money. Like me and like you! I’m always amazed when I go there to shop at all the good deals that are there. I usually start by browsing the designer tab and then narrow it down to my size so all clothing in my size comes up in that category. It’s a good way to try out some brands that I haven’t worn before at a fraction of the cost of retail. But you can also search your favorite tried and true brands to find like new things at way less than you’d pay normally. That’s a big win for me!
Just for disclosure, I was given $150 to spend at thredUP and I always like to see how far my money will stretch, so I browse around and find a few possibilities, adding them to my cart. Then I go back and delete things I decide against and keep the most favorite finds to get the most bang for the buck.
Now, don’t read too fast, because there’s a great $250 shopping spree giveaway at the bottom of the post, so don’t miss it!
thredUP boxes arrive all in a pretty polka dot package, folded up neatly and ready to see the new beautiful clothing that you’ve chosen.
I chose 5 items for $150 and really feel like I got some great things for spring. As usual, my eye goes towards black and white and also turquoise shades. I loved the Coach purse I got last year so much that I found another one that’s slightly bigger. You can get some great purse deals on thredUP.
Let’s see what I found and how I styled them!
That pretty turquoise and white checked top really caught my eye with it’s baby doll style. I don’t normally choose baby doll with a tie in the back, but this one just seemed so springy and I loved the checks and of course the color. It’s all cotton and by Tasha Polizzi Collection, a brand I’ve never had before.
It retailed for $143 and sold for $33.99. I just loved how fun and different this one looked and happy I got it.
It will be a fun top for spring and summer and I can wear it with white shorts and flats too. I paired it with my white Old Navy jeans and strappy tan leather wedge shoes that I’ve had for awhile.
Carrying my new to me Coach purse with this outfit is perfect for a spring outing. The Coach purse retailed for $350, was listed at $72.99 and on Final Sale for $64.99, so this was a big part of my purchase. Just a note on Final Sale items, they can’t be returned so shop wisely on those. So far, I have been very happy with my Final Sale items. The other items can be returned, but the Final Sale ones cannot and they are on deep discount. I really love buying Coach and designer purses this way, since I would never pay full retail or even close to it normally. I’m a bargain shopper all the way!
Next up is the soft pink sweater by American Eagle Outfitters. I’ve had really good luck with this brand of sweaters and have a few in my closest that I found online and in person in the store. This one retailed for $50 and sold for $13.99 on thredUP.
It’s more fitted then some of my sweaters, but feels really good on in a blend of fabrics, making it soft and cozy. I love the diamond pattern on this sweater and paired it with another pair of white skinny jeans I own (Kut from the Kloth), along with those shoes I shared a few weeks ago.
This is a nice business casual look. I’ve had this jacket for years now, a gray one by Kenar and it looks nice paired with pink and white, again with my new Coach bag.
This would be another great outfit for a casual, but not too dressed up day out. Love layering on these Spring days.
That vibrant blue green and black tunic top is really cute. It was listed as a dress, but of course on me is perfect for tunic length. Keep that in mind for yourself. Dresses that are shorter are perfect for us as a tunic! It’s by Maeve and retailed for $119 and sold for $30.99.
I paired it with those pants I bought a few weeks ago at Costco, the black ponte ones. This is perfect over them for a fun night out. I could easily add a black jacket for warmth too on a cool night.
I just got these shoes and will share them with you later, but the heel is not too tall and I think they will be good for dancing. Gold jewelry adds some sparkle to the look.
This cute Ellen Tracy black and white leopard sleeveless cowl neck top was a real steal. It retailed for $89, was marked down to $14.99 and then went on final sale for $8.99, so how could I resist that? It’s a soft and draping knit fabric.
With my love of black and white, this was a no brainer to add to my closet and I love sleeveless tops for layering with jackets. These are the same black ponte pants I shared a few weeks ago and wore in the previous outfit, along with wedge suede shoes by Vince Camuto I’ve had for a couple of years. You can see my little sidekick inside the door, Cody, who always has to see what’s going on out there.
This black leather jacket I picked up at a yardsale years ago and it’s still fun to wear. Great for layering in the spring.
So that’s a look at a few things I’ve added to my wardrobe from thredUP. You really can’t beat them for great prices on almost new items. I haven’t had anything I was disappointed with from them at all and would definitely recommend shopping with them if you enjoy consignment store shopping. What’s not to love about like new items in really good condition for a fraction of retail price?
A few things to know about thredUP. They are the largest online store that buys and sells second hand fashion for women and kids.
