Fashion over 50: Sweaters, Jewelry Organization and More

I don’t know about you all, but January is always slow going for me and it takes me a few weeks to get back in the swing of things. This year is no exception. My Christmas is down and packed away, but the house still looks bare and not cozy yet, so I must work on that and get some cheer going around here again now that the Christmas sparkle is gone. Winter is like that, isn’t it?

I’m also not buying a lot of new clothes, since I just don’t need them. I have a closet full of nice clothes and I not going to buy just to show you all new fashion items, so I guess I’m not a good fashion blogger with that policy, but it keeps me sane. I do have a few things to share with you today that I spotted and also a jewelry organizer that I got for my drawers.

Before I get to that, I got a new eye shadow palette that I thought worth sharing (got it for my birthday), so here’s the Tartelette Toasted palette (affiliate link). With my blonde hair and blue eyes, I think these colors are good for my warmer complexion and bring out the blue eyes.

Here’s a not so good impromptu shot after I was out running errands this week and this pic looks like it needs blending more. The colors are like a sunset and definitely on warm toned, but muted too and they are easily blended for a soft look. This brand of eye shadow is really good and it lasts too. It will take me years to use this up, so I imagine I’ll have it quite awhile. I don’t wear as much makeup as I used to so my days are a quick and easy look when I go out. Even though I buy cheaper products for some of my makeup, I do like a good eye shadow brand, you can definitely tell the difference in how they go on.

One more share for you. I found a really cute blanket ladder for the office/guest room space.

I had bought one and tried it out, but then found this blanket ladder online at Target and I love it. It’s the Hearth and Hand collection and really well made. The color of the wood blends in perfect with the armoire.

Another project I completed this week was getting my silver jewelry organized. I had it in a drawer in my closet and needed something to organize it so I found this set of organizers on Amazon (affiliate link) and really like the. They are a set of 8, with different sized compartments and some of the dividers can move so you can change the sizes.

Here’s my jewelry drawer before I organized it. Definitely needs help! I also have a large hanging jewelry box for all my other jewelry, but I wanted to keep the silver separate from all of the others.

Here it is after, so much better!

Many of the dividers move around so it’s customizable.

It definitely works well for my needs.

And the drawers stack on top of each other too so I can move them around to see what I need.

Hope this gives you some organizing inspiration too. I’m not really a natural organizer who shares all of that on my blog all the time, but I do like to be organized. I have to work at it!

So on to the fashion I spotted this week. Winter has finally arrived in Georgia and the temps have dropped, so we can definitely pull out the sweaters now. Here are a few pretty sweaters I found from Loft and J Crew Factory that would be great additions to your winter wardrobe. And there are some great sales too! Happy shopping !
