We’ve all grown up with the “no white pants or shoes after Labor Day” thing, haven’t we? Â Well, I don’t really subscribe to that notion and I will indeed wear white after Labor Day if I feel like it. Â The Rules are much more relaxed nowadays and I’m glad about that. Â I’ve seen plenty of fashion bloggers wearing white jeans well into Fall and Winter and there is no reason why it can’t work for us over 50 gals as well. Â It’s all about pairing them with the right textures and shoes. Â So, today I’m sharing 3 ways I would wear white jeans after Labor Day.
This time of year is so iffy anyway with the weather. Â It’s already cooling off in Georgia this month and it’s a definite change in the weather as soon as September rolls around. October will be even cooler with some Indian Summer days thrown in too, if things go as they normally do. Â How do you dress this time of year, when it’s not summer anymore, but not quite Winter? Â Fall is the perfect time to bring out the booties and jackets and pair them up with those white jeans in your closet.
This is a casual look with white jeans. These are Kut from the Kloth (affiliate link), that I’ve shared before.  A blue and white striped shirt from J Crew, skinny leopard print belt, jeans jacket from Gap, and booties that I bought last year.
Here’s a darker navy and white striped shirt (affiliate link) from Express that is pretty.
I love the combo of white, khaki and navy and it all works together for a Fall look.
I kept my jewelry in the brown tones for this look and it all works together. Â I’ll show more of the jewelry below and tell you about it.
Next, wearing the same white jeans, I paired them up with a coral long sleeved T-shirt from Talbots and the chambray blue and white polka-dot jacket I got from C Wonder last year. Again, with the suede khaki booties.
Coral and navy are a great look together and the white polkadots accent the white jeans. I added some jewelry with coral in it and it all pulls together, with coral being the pop of color.
I also love this navy and white infinity striped scarf with it for a different look. Â The suede booties balance it all out and gives it a Fall vibe.
Lastly, white jeans with a print Cabi Clothing top. These are definitely my spring colors. Â One of my friends passed this top on to me and I do love it.
Simple touches of fashion jewelry and gold flats dress this outfit up a bit and it’s a good look for most any Fall outing. Â I could also throw on the jeans jacket with this too.
Here is part of what I had on in these pics.  I’ve had these necklaces for a long time, but the brown toned one on the left came from a yardsale.  I think my sister gave me the coral and neutral necklace and I mixed them with earrings I already had.  Wood Watch from Jord (affiliate link). Leather cuff bracelet, I bought from my talented friend, Lucy, with Lucy’s Inspired in Birmingham. She makes the coolest jewelry out of rustic old parts and has a stunning one of a kind jewelry collection.  Check her out!
So,those are some ideas on how I dress for Fall and why not keep on wearing the white jeans, I say?!
I’m heading back to the beach on Thursday, to Gulf Shores, AL for a long weekend. It’s been a few years since I’ve been down there, so looking forward to it and also visiting Fairhope while we are there. Â I’ll be sharing it all when I get back! Â
Here are a few similar items I found:
Coral is for sure your color and I think you look great in the floral top. I also really like the first outfit. The polka dot blazer is nice as well but I think I would do away with the stripped scarf. I think it clashes a bit with the polka dots. But as usual you look great! Best, Silvana
Three very well put together looks, Rhoda. I like denim with white. Winter white jeans also look great with natural/cream/beige tone on tone knitwear
You have selected really cute outfits for this blog. Love the first outfit you posted – looks really good on you.
Hawtness!
The outfits are adorable. But I was coming on to comment how much I love your hair!
I like your hair this way too Rhoda!
I don’t wear white jeans so wearing them into fall is a mute point for me LOL. I love white pants, just not white jeans. Of course my white pants are more summery, so I’m not wearing them now. Not wearing booties yet (I want a leopard pair!!!) and only light weight jackets. We are still quite warm here and this week very humid. Should cool down more next week but September here in TN is usually very warm and October still fairly so.
You are just so darn cute! I loved the striped infinity scarf with the coral outfit. Was debating whether to wear white jeans with a really snazzy top and jewelry tonight to the Broadway production of Dirty Dancing in Greenville, SC…you just helped me up my mind!!! Thank you, Rhoda!
Enjoy reading your blog that I recently found. Love your Goodwill finds, I also shop there. Just wanted to tell you I love your hair curly.
Rhoda, I love all the looks and outfits but my favoritie is the first. I must say, this post looks so professional. You could definitely model for clothing catalogs! Love your hair and you’re a natural in front of the camera. Love the fashion over 50 posts!
Thank you, Sandy, that’s so sweet of you! I’d love to model if a company asked me.
Just a matter of time Rhoda. I can see this in your future.
Love all of these looks!! ??
OMG, Rhoda, that coral print blouse and necklace combo is “da bomb”! Those colors look great on you. Super post! Hugs.
Rhoda, can you show us how you style your hair? I love the look but don’t know how to obtain it?
HI, Joanne, I talked about styling my waves/curls in this post, so see if this helps:

I checked out the link. I guess with my very straight hair it just isn’t going to happen. Anyhow, I do love it on you. Perfect for those casual days.
Joanne, yes I have a lot of natural curl, so unless you do, it probably won’t work for you just using products. You would probably need one of those stylers that curl hair too.
Have fun in Gulf Shores! I live in Fairhope, and you have picked a beautiful weekend to visit.
Rhoda, I enjoy your fashion shows on Wednesday, really like the coral (along with green top from previous post) on you. Also, like your casual hairstyle! I enjoy reading many blogs, leaning so much from you amazing ladies. I look forward to your fashions on Wed, with all the tips and jewelry/scarf/shoe suggestions. Do you read this blog, “Fifty, not Frumby?” Like you, this lady offer suggestions of mixing and matching, accessories, she also makes and sells beautiful jewelry. Keep up the wonderful blogs
Hi, Theresa, yes I’ve read her blog. She has some great style ideas!
You look fabulous in all the outfits but my favourite is the striped shirt and denim jacket and the multicolour peach floral top, not so keen on the spotted jacket but you look fab in all of them anyway. I have been looking for a denim jacket too but not yet found the perfect one. It is spring here in New Zealand so I am looking forward to wearing lighter clothing but we still need a jacket to throw on as summer evenings can be a little cool.
I must say that I am thinking I should wear more jewellery, I actually only wear my wedding rings but those bracelets look so lovely on you and also add to your femininity.
Have a lovely week
Lee
Loved the outfits and your modeling. I am smitten with the gold and copper looking flats. Would you mind telling me where to buy them?
Connie, I think they are Nine West and I bought them at Tj Maxx a couple years ago.
Rhoda, first let me say again how very much I enjoy your “Fashion over 50” posts. I love your ideas for wearing white jeans after Labor Day. I love my white jeans from Chico’s.
Girl, you have such a sense of style in your home, it’s no wonder your blog is so successful. You are equally talented fashion wise. It’s a wonder to me why I don’t see you modeling in upscale fashion catalogs for “glamorous women of a certain age,” like Chico’s or Soft Surroundings.
Rhoda, I must say, that I particularly like the way your naturally wavy hair frames your pretty face, softens your look, and makes you look just a bit sassy and playful, yet approachable.

I love the coral necklace on you. Just beautiful!
I was wondering if you could get your niece to do a segment on what she wears that might also be appropriate for the “over 50” set. She has such cute clothes. I’d love to see what she wears to work in the age of business casual.
You look beautiful and stylish no matter what you wear. I wish Lauren lived closer to you, because I too would like to see her featured in the series. She’s not over 50, but her fashion sense appears to be top notch, too.
Lauren does have great style. I’ll talk to her and see if she is willing to model for me!
