Fashion over Fifty: Fall Refresh

Hi, all!  I’m back today with a fun post sharing some Fall fashion refresh ideas that I am adding into my wardrobe.  This post is in collaboration with thredUP, who I’ve shared with you before.  I love the idea of consignment store shopping, because of all the money you can save, but don’t get out that often to shop in my area.  Online shopping has become my go to a lot of times when I’m looking for new clothing.  thredUP is the world’s largest online consignment and thrift store where you can find more than 35,000 brands at up to 90% off retail.

That’s pretty impressive, isn’t it?  I always find great things on thredUP when I visit and it’s fun to see that pretty polkadot box arrive at my door.  Just like a boutique!

There are so many ways you can search on thredUP, but this time I searched by some of my favorite brands and found some great items at a fraction of what I would have paid brand new retail.  And you know I love saving money like that!

Some of my go-to brands are Chico’s, Vince Camuto, White House Black Market to name a few.  You can narrow down your search by brand and filter by size, color, price and style.  As always, I’m attracted to black and white, so it’s no surprise that some of that ended up in my cart.

This first top is a solid black long sleeve by White House Black Market.  I like this brand, but hardly ever shop there in person.  But if I can find good basic pieces at a deep discount, I’m all for that.

This top retailed for $71 originally, but I got it for $19.99 on thredUP.  Score!

The white pants I already had and I thought the black and white combo worked well with nude shoes.

The top has some nice detailing around the neckline and a fun surprise in the back.

There’s an organza layer around the bottom.

And it dips down in the back with a swagged layer.  Pretty sweet!

I topped it with this Chico’s sweater/cardigan, which I absolutely love.  The 3/4 sleeves are fun and perfect for Fall.  This one retailed for $69, but I got it for $12.99 on thredUP.

I know I’ll enjoy this sweater cardigan for many occasions during the Fall months. It’s so soft and cozy.

Next up is a dress, also from Chico’s.  You know I was all over this one, a long maxi dress in black and white. It’s the kind of dress I can dress up or down, depending on the occasion.  I paired it with some wedge black heels, but it would also work with flats or sandals too.  It’s a jersey knit type fabric and very comfortable. This one retailed for $99 and I got it for $14.99!!

I know…that’s a deal, right?!

I threw on a black casual jacket, but again it could be dressed up or down for Fall or the hotter months. I love clothing that can be worn year round and sleeveless dresses can definitely work for Fall with a jacket layered on.

This next top is from Vince Camuto and is a deep blue leopard print that I pared with black pants and black booties I already had.  I love how it dips down in the back and has a nice feel to the fabric.  Sheer but very pretty.  This one retailed for $99, but thredUP’s price was $19.99.

This next dress is not completely Fallish, but I think could work year round.  I just thought it was so pretty and I know the brand Cynthia Steffe is an upscale brand.  This dress retailed for $253 and thredUP had it listed for $53.99.  Really a great discount on this type of dress.

I’m not totally sure this is my color, but it’s a cross between minty green and turquoise, so I think it works.

It fit me really well, the bodice had pretty pleats and the fabric is so soft and drapey.  I paired it with some jewelry I had in my closest that accents the color.  This would be a fun dress for many occasions and again, a jacket can be layered on.

And the last item to showcase today is this gorgeous navy and cream jacket from Chico’s.  It retailed for $129 and I got it for $19.99.  What a steal this is!  It’s such a gorgeous tailored jacket and I thought it would be perfect with my flared dark wash jeans.

I had the cream sleeveless sweater already, so it’s an instant outfit with the nude heels. Perfect for a Fall lunch out with the girls or a date night.

It’s a classic look that I love and the jacket has some pretty button details too.  I felt very chic in this one.

So, are you convinced yet?  Honestly, everything I’ve ever gotten from thredUP has been in great condition and that’s because they inspect everything 3 times by hand to make sure they are offering great items. That’s why I don’t hesitate to recommend them to all of you!  I like shopping second hand when I can get things like this at such a great discount and I hope if you haven’t tried them, you’ll give it a chance too.  I don’t think you’ll be disappointed and if something doesn’t work, you can easily return it.  The only things not returnable are deeply discounted and they say final sale.
